Chapter 2 – Will.
Djaq sat at his bedside, trying to be strong. He needed her, now more than ever. Going over all the remedies for pneumonia and having used them all Djaq knew in her heart that it was too late.
"Love is like a river," Will croaked.
"What?" Djaq checked his head, his pulse and his breathing quickly, confused by his choice of words.
"It may have ups and downs, obstacles, like rocks, to get past but it will always flow on, even after death," Will whispered, "I love you."
"I love you too, but you're not going to die," tears leaked from Djaq's large brown eyes.
"I love you Djaq, I love you Djaq, I love you Djaq," Will continued to murmur, his eyelids half closed.
Will's thin and pale arm stretched out and he grabbed Djaq's hand, squeezing it tightly. Djaq leant down to him, her lips just above his, enjoying his warm breath on her cheeks. There lips met and they kissed softly before Will slipped away from Djaq forever, leaving her sobbing over his chest, praying with all her might.
