I'm going to tell you a story. A true story, of when I was humanly alive. This will seem weird and confusing in the begging, but you'll understand later on.

It was my frst day of school in my new hometown. I was just waking up when I heard stomping up the stairs. "Avery!" I looked up in wonder when I heard the voice. "Anna?" I whispered. The person who slammed open the door was someone I thought I wouldn't see 'till I was maybe twenty. It was my sister, Anna. We were separated from each other at a young age when our parents got a divorce. It was just amazing to see her again. And being able to once again live with her, just a wonderful feeling. I would soon find out that coming to live here would be a huge turning point in my life, what I had left anyways.

Anna was smiling at me. For some strange reason, her k-nine teeth looked bigger and sharper. But, maybe it was just something she inherited from our father. "Anna!" I jumped out of the bed and tackled her to the ground, hugging her. Anna giggled and hugged me back. "Oh Avery! I can't believe mom gave dad custody of you! I'm so happy! We can be together again!" Anna pulled me from the hug and stared at my face. "You're so beautiful...Much more beautiful than I had expected."

I stared at her in shock. "What does that mean!? Did you think I would be ugly or something!?" I stood up and turned away from her. After she didn't say anything for about five minutes, I turned around. She looked hurt, like she didn't like the way I reacted. But, honestly, who wouldn't have reacted that way?

Anna suddenly stood up and stared at the floor, casting shadows over her eyes. "Avery," She looked up and smiled. "You're going to be late for your first day of school." I turned around and looked at the clock on the desk. It read fifteen minutes 'till eight. I was going to be late. "Oh my gosh! Anna! Why didn't you tell me!?" I ran over to the closet and scrambled to find something to wear since I hadn't unpacked everything yet. Anna smiled. "I just did. Now hurry and I'll give you a ride since you don't have a car yet." She turned around and walked out of my room. I soon followed, not knowing what awaited me.

Authors notes: Eh. I know it's a really bad beginning, but it will get better! I've been writing this story since I finished reading Eclipse by Stephenie Meyer. It was a really great series and I can't wait for the next volume to come out.

But, I hopped you guys liked the first chapter. And I promise, it does get better.
