Previously: "Luckily everyone was close by." Shino responded.
Shikamaru looked around. Both Naruto and Sakura were knocked out. "Fuck, this is going to be troublesome." He thought.
"We sent word to Hokage-sama, about your arrival, it will only be a matter of time." Tenten threatened.
"Hmph, let get going then." Kisame said joyfully as he unsheathed his sword once again.
"This is going to be troublesome." Shikamaru stated.
Chapter 6 – Nothing to lose
"You're going to pay for those last comments bastard!" Kiba exclaimed, Akamaru barking in agreement.
Kisame just smirked. Neji and Shikamaru took this time to observe the situation. "Ok, they obviously want Naruto. Sakura's knocked out, so we have no medic, and we have to fight two S-class criminals while retrieving our comrades, right after a day of training. Then we have to get these two assholes out of the village, plus we still need to go on that damned mission about Sasuke, which we now have only three weeks to complete. Shit, this is too troublesome." Shikamaru thought. He started to rub his temples with his hands. Then he heard Kiba yell out a jutsu, both Kiba and Akamaru then transformed into a large white two-headed wolf. Neji's and Shikamaru's team were somewhat surprised at Kiba's technique.
"Lucky he's on our side, like hell if I ever want to be bit by that thing!" Tenten thought as she saw the huge drooling, large fanged canine. The huge wolf then charged at Kisame. The others took advantage of the situation and attacked as well. Lee and Shino decided to save their two unconscious comrades.
Kisame gave a small smile as he lifted up his samehada for an attack. Shikamaru used his shadow technique on Kisame while Ino attempted to use her mind transfer jutsu. Tenten threw a parade of weapons toward Itachi to distract him, but the attack was futile. Itachi easily dodged her attack with a bored expression on his face. Even while not looking anywhere near the neck up, she could tell he was bored with her, and that got her pissed off. "Ah, hell no! People don't call me weapons master for nothing!" She thought as she bit her thumb and released a scroll. Seeing this attack, Neji alerted the other shinobi of what was to come. Almost immediately, the ones that were within at least 50 meters away from the Uchiha frantically got out of the way. She traced the scroll with her cut thumb and brought out an immense amount of kunais. She then took each kunai and tied them to chakra string. Throwing them precisely, she threw ten kunais in a vertical line straight at a tree next to Itachi. Itachi moved away trying to see what the kunoichi was up to. She did the same thing with other sets of kunai placing them onto nearby trees. She then threw ten kunais horizontally, landing onto the same trees that had kunais that were thrown previously. "I'm trapped" Itachi thought with no surprise, as he found himself in a cage of chakra thread. Then he noticed Tenten place a tag on a main thread that connected to all the others. "An electic tag…Fuck." Itachi thought as he looked for a way to escape. "Have fun." Tenten said to herself, as she set off the electric tag, causing the entire field Tenten covered with chakra thread to send of sparks of electricity.
Shikamaru finally got the shark nin into a bind, but soon the Akatsuki member was able to move just barely. "What the fuck!" Shikamaru thought as he saw Ino go limp onto the grass floor. "Shit." Shikamaru could tell that she missed, and was completely vulnerable for the next few minutes. Kisame, seeing this, walked slowly toward the two teammates. Shikamaru tried his best to hold the bastard in place. Just then Kiba and Akamaru in their combined form, attack Kisame head-on with their justu that resembled a side-winding tornado. But to everyone's surprise, the giant dog progressed no further, as they all saw that the shark nin was stopping them with his sword. After a while, both Kiba and Akamaru transformed back into their original forms as they collapsed onto the ground, drained of their chakra. Kisame them swung his sword and striked the two straight on their backs. "Kuso" Kiba muttered to himself when he found that the shark nin took all of their chakra almost instantly.
Kisame raised his sword slowly to finish off the two, but found himself surrounded by two pissed off Hyuugas. Neji, who was in front of Kisame, and Hinata, who was behind, both took the fighting stance that would initiate 128 strikes to the vital points to the body from both of them. Simultaneously, they attacked. Exactly in tuned with the other's placement of strikes, the two Hyuugas executed their barrage of attacks on the Akatsuki member. Kisame couldn't defend himself, with the shadow binding him, and the speed of the two Hyuugas, it was almost impossible. "This is what you get bastard!" Neji thought. "For hurting our friends!" Hinata thought. Blow after blow, Kisame spat out blood with each impact. By the time the two were done, the Shikamaru released his jutsu from exhaustion, and the shark nin collapsed onto the floor. Ino started to gain consciousness. Shikamaru saw that Ino returned to her body.
"Well, you missed the shark guy being beaten to a pulp." Shikamaru said to his teammate. She looked around to see the knocked out shark nin on the floor with small puddles of blood around him.
"Awww man, Hinata! You could have saved some for me!" Ino whined. Hinata just turned a little red. They then heard a loud crash, they saw that Tenten, Choji, Lee, and Shino were fighting it out with Itachi. Lee and Shino couldn't free themselves from the battle and retrieve their comrades, Itachi simply wouldn't let them.
Itachi then noticed the situation becoming serious as he saw that Kisame was unconscious with a serious condition. He then dodged a swift kick from Lee. "It's time to take the kyuubi and leave now, but Kisame's injuries…..I suppose I can put that kunoichi to use." Itach thought as he released an extremely powerful genjutsu that put Tenten, Choji, Shino and Lee to sleep. Itachi wouldn't naturally use so much chakra with shinobi he believed was low class, but he was now in a hurry. He could sense new powerful chakra patterns coming their way.
"Ok, well that makes eight people unconscious in the battle." Shikamaru groaned inwardly. "This is going to be a problem…He's going to be a hell lot harder to take down than the shark guy. Plus he's closer to Naruto than us." Neji thought. Just then another Itachi came from behind Neji and the rest. Neji and Hinata saw him from behind.
"Everyone move!" They both yelled in unison. Using some familiar hand signs, in a second, Itachi used the Katon fireball jutsu. Everyone found it semi difficult to dodge the attack while moving their unconscious comrades. The only people they couldn't retrieve were Naruto and Sakura. "Damn." Ino thought as she saw what Itachi just did. Naruto and Sakura were now right behind the real Akatsuki member.
For some reason Itachi got rid of his clone and turned to his right, while throwing a kunai straight at a small figure in the darkness. The small object slowly melted away into a puddle of ink. Just then, on a low branch in a tree stood Gai, Kakashi, Sai, Tsunade, Ero-senin, and a couple of anbu. Neji just smirked. "Thank kami." Hinata thought with a sigh of relief. The reinforcement group advanced toward the battle.
"Itachi!" Tsunade exclaimed. "What the hell are you doing in Kohana!"
"By the order of the Hokage, you are to come with us and be trialed for you crimes." One of the anbu members said. "Like he gives a shit." Shikamaru thought. Then Itachi, in a blink of an eye, held Naruto and Sakura by their collars in each hand. Itachi held them in a position so they were half standing up.
"I choose to make a proposal another proposal." Itachi simply stated with a plain look on his face. Everyone was now tense. "Fucken-A…." Sai thought, as he saw that Itachi was in control of the situation. "This isn't good." Kakashi thought. "LEE! Tenten!" Gai thought, clenching his fists as he saw his unconscious former subordinates on the ground.
"And what would that be?" Tsunade asked with a stern voice.
"I leave with these three without a fight, and for no anbu to be sent after us within a day." Itachi stated with the same stern voice. There was a small pause. Everyone had their attention now on the hokage. "And if you don't comply with my proposal, I'll kill this kunoichi." He said, as he lifted Sakura a little to identify the person under threat.
"Along with all the other unconscious shinobi under my genjutsu right now."
"He doesn't look like he's bluffing." Tsunade thought. Through clenched teeth she let out a small 'fine'.
"W-Wha!" Almost everyone gasped out.
Itachi just dragged Naruto and Sakura's unconscious bodies toward Kisame's. Neji and Sai were about to stop him if it wasn't for Gai and Kakashi holding them down. When Itatchi reached his teammate he kneeled forward and the four of them disappeared in a cloud of smoke.
"NO! Naruto-kun!….Sakura-chan!" Hinata screamed out, as she saw two of her closest friends disappear. Everyone was slightly shocked at her outburst. She was almost crying. "Naruto-kun…."
"Damn, Damn, Damn it all!" Neji yelled out, banging his fist against a tree which then collapsed to the floor.
Sai just looked down and frowned. "If we even try to follow them, he'll kill Sakura right then and there. If we wait here, we'll probably lose his trail, and kill both of them later on. What kind of friend am I to allow this to happen so…so…" Sai yelled in frustration. Kakashi watched his now emotional teammate. He never once saw Sai behave like this. Everyone else was no better. Ino was now crying with Hinata silently, seeing that it was a likely chance that they would never see their two best friends ever again….alive.
"Everyone! Stop your useless moping! That won't help them!" Tsunade yelled, frustrated herself. "Now, you." Tsunade ordered the anbu. "Take the injured to the hospital immediately. Gai, Kakashi in my office. The rest of you, prepare for another mission tomorrow! We'll have to postpone Sasuke's retrieval mission."
Everyone pretty much stared at her. "I SAID NOW!" Tsunade yelled as she stomped her foot on the ground creating a huge fissure. Everyone then immediately evacuated the park.
"God I need sake." Tsunade thought as she rubbed her temples.
-Hyuuga Mansion-
The still conscious group of shinobi were all in the living room, after seeing their comrades off at the hospital hours ago. "They should be better in a couple of days", that's what Shizune said, but that's time that they didn't have. Only Shikamaru, Neji, Hinata, Ino, and Sai were able to still fight. Ino was pacing back and fourth, which irritated Shikamaru.
"Would you stand still for one freaken second!" Shikamaru barked out, sitting on the couch. "I'm trying to think." Neji and Sai seemed to agree.
"How can you people be so calm when our friends are with that jackass!" Ino yelled at Shikamaru.
"Well, it's not like we'll forget them. We still need to stop Orochimaru! Plus, if you didn't notice, half of our group is knocked out! I'm trying to think of a fucken plan to help everyone, so the best we can do is put our heads together and see what we can think of! But before we can do that, we need some god damn quiet!" Shikamaru yelled back. Ino was a little taken back with his attitude, never did he yell at a girl like that. Fuming Ino was about to punch the irritated ninja, but Sai caught her punch.
In a soft, but firm voice he said, "Calm down. What would Sakura think if her only life line was fighting itself?" Then She felt Hinata place a hand on her shoulder.
"P-please stop fighting Ino-chan." Hinata said. This finally calmed the kunoichi down, as she collapsed onto the couch next to Shikamaru muttering something incoherent.
"I think I have something." Neji stated out of nowhere. Everyone looked at him. "I think we should go find and retrieve Naruto and Sakura ourselves.
Everyone stared in disbelief. "What the hell are you smoking Neji! If we come anywhere near them he'll kill Sakura-chan!" Ino yelled. "Sakura….Chan" everyone thought.
"Actually, no. I don't think he'll do that." Neji stated.
"Are you sure you're thinking logically. No emotions clouding your judgment?" Sai asked. Neji glared at him.
"No, no, Sai. I think he has a point. Itachi isn't someone to kidnap a girl to save himself. That would be beneath him. He's probably going to force her to heal the injuries Neji and Hinata gave Kisame. So in other words." Shikamaru explained. "He can't touch her, and he can't threaten Naruto's life aginst her." Neji finished off.
"When do we leave." Hinata asked, with a determined look on her face.
"Now." Neji answered.
"But, what about the others. Someone will have to fill in the ones in the hospital." Sai said.
"I'll stay behind." Said Shikamaru.
"B-but, we need y-" Hinata began.
"No you don't. All you have to do is track them down and leave a trail for me and the others to follow." Shikamaru said cutting her off.
"But won't Tsunade skin us alive if she sees that we're gone!" Ino said.
Then there was a puff of smoke in the middle of the living room. "You don't have to worry about that. I can cover you guys." Kakashi said while reading his small orange book.
"KAKASHI!" Everyone almost yelled out.
"Like I said. Me and Shikamaru will cover you guys till tomorrow." He said while turning a page. Without looking away from his book, he held out a small bottle to Neji.
"What are those?" Ino asked.
"Soldier pills. Kiba uses them a lot. They keep you energized for three days straight." Hinata explained.
"Cool, thanks Kakashi!" Ino said.
"Lets restock on supplies first." Sai suggested. Everyone agreed and before they could go off to pack, Kakashi gave them a small 'Good luck', before taking off himself.
-Somewhere In The Forest Outside of the Fire Country Border-
"I can sense Itachi's Chakra pattern." A dark figure thought as he raced toward the man he was searching for. "But who the hell are the other three people with him?"
-Itachi and Kisame's Hangout-
Itachi opened the door to a small cabin hidden deep within the woods while dragging in three unconscious bodies. He was a little tired from carrying the extra weight for hours and was glad he could rest for the night. Only problem, two rooms four people, only one conscious enough to move around. "Crap." He couldn't trust his brother's former teammates with Kisame when he was awake and pissed off, so they would have to bunk with him. With a small sigh he grabbed the two's collars once more and dragged them to hi room. He kicked the door open and kind of threw them onto the bed. As Naruto and Sakura slept side-by-side he extracted all the weapons and gear. He then left the room to get Kisame into his room.
-Kohana Gates-
"Sai, Neji, Ino, Hinata! Where are you guys going!" Kurenai asked suspiciously. "Why are you all packed?"
"Ummm…..We're….uhhh.." Hinata stuttered.
"Haaaaaving a sleepover!" Ino said.
Everyone looked at her like she grew a huge nose. Coughing, Neji explained to Kurenai that they were simply going to Sai's house to talk about the situation of the upcoming mission.
"Are you lying to me Hyuuga?" Kurenai asked, raising a brow.
"I never lie." He stated sternly looking at her red eyes with his white ones.
"Alright then." She said after a while. "Hinata, don't let them stay up too late."
"H-hai." Hinata muttered before Kurenai disappeared.
"Never lie my ass Hyuuga." Sai said.
"Shut up, friutcup." Neji retorted.
"Is everyone ready?" Everyone nodded. "There's no turning back now, if you want to stay it's alright. We might be ki-"
"Yeah, yeah killed in the progress. Now can we go and get our friends back before I grow a beard?" Ino asked, cutting Neji off.
"Well, at least you'll be prettier." Sai said off-handedly. Neji smirked, but Ino just 'hmphed' and sprinted forward.
"We should hurry up." Hinata commented toward the two boys. Then the three caught up with the blond and they all followed whatever trail that Itachi left by.
"Hmph, I knew they were up to something." Kurenai observed from a branch on a tree. She was going to go stop them but then Kakashi appeared right in front of her while reading his book.
"Kakashi! What are you doing here?" She said, half shocked. "Nevermind, we have to go stop those kids from getting killed!" She was about to go after them but Kakashi pinned her to the tree with one hand.
"What the hell are you doing?" She yelled at the jounin who was still reading his perverted book.
He placed his hand of her shoulder and placed it on the tree next to her head. Then he slowly leaned forward, still not taking his eyes off the book.
"W-what are you doing Kaka-" She started to blush.
"I think we need to have a little talk Kurenai-chan." Kakashi said cutting her off. He was only inches away from her face.
"S-sure…"
-Itachi and Kisame's Hangout-
"Where am I?" Naruto said as he sat up from the bed. He was in some kind of empty room, and it was pitch black. "Must be still night time." He thought. Then he remembered the encounter with Itachi. "Sakura-chan!" Naruto tried to fully get off the bed but found that his arms and legs were bound with chakra thread. "What the hell?" Then he saw that Sakura was next to him still sleeping. He shook her almost yelling "Sakura-chan." She started to wake up. Naruto pretty much hovered right above her. Not a good idea. Even when unconscious Sakura's instinct took control of her body and literally punched Naruto right in the gut.
"GAH!" Naruto blurted out in pain as he fell of the bed. "What the fuck did I do!" he thought.
"Hn….Naruto….NARUTO!" Sakura almost screamed, but Naruto muffled the scream with his bound hands, then he released he mouth. "Naruto what's going on?" she whispered. Then she noticed her hands and feet were bound as well. "What the?"
"I don't know Sakura-chan. But I think we're in a bad situation."
Sakura sweat dropped. "You think….Well at least no ones here yet." She said as she scanned the dark room.
"Yeah, we should be fine." Naruto said.
"Who saysnoboby's here." Came a low voice from the corner of the room. Sakura and Naruto almost froze in fear as they met with a pair of blood red eyes. "Ok…We're screwed." Sakura thought. "I take it back, we're boned." Naruto thought as he gulped.
Next Time: "Sakura-chan! Don't do it! Don't worry about me!"…"It looks like we have some company."…"I will help you, but in exchange, let Naruto go."…"Sa-Sasuke-kun?"
