The ninth Doctor and Rose stood back as the present Doctor picked Jenny up and carried her back to where he and Martha had come from. To his annoyance the ninth Doctor was following them. He had almost told the Doctor that he was his future incarination but had been distracted by Jenny's temperature. He was scared, Jenny was pratically burning up. Martha was silent, she hadn't said anything after they'd arrived and seen Jenny. The Doctor needed to get to the tardis but he couldn't with number nine following on right behind them. It was a bad enough paradox already. "Look would you stop following us?" he snapped at his past self who looked annoyed.

"I'm sorry about your daughter, I really am but I'm a Doctor, maybe I can help you alright?" his past self insisted. Martha almost cracked up laughing at her Doctor's face. Damn, why did he have to be so persistant? the tenth Doctor thought annoyed.

"You can't come with us, do you want to know why?" ten said glaring at nine. He was going to have to tell him, he had no choice. Well, he'd have to make his past self and Rose forget about this anyway so what the hell.

"Oh fill me in please" the other Doctor replied sarcastically.

"Because I'm you okay? I am your next incarination so go away because I need to take her back to the tardis". At that his past self fell very, quiet and Rose, who had been walking next to him in silence, looked shocked.

"Your him ?" She gasped.

"Yeah and you better get used to it" the present Doctor mumbled, remembering the day, two months ago, when he let Rose leave him to go live her life with his human self. Well at least he could give her what he never could. The past Rose looked at him in disbelief. "You can go changing your face?" Martha smiled at her.

"He only does it if he's dying"

"Oh no, your gonna die in two years? why?" Rose gasped. The tenth Doctor frowned at her.

"No in your timeline I'll die in several months, judging by your outfit, we were on Solintula?" he enquired and Rose nodded. "I regenerate to save you" he whispered. Then the Doctor turned his attention back to Jenny. Her eyes were two pools of deep violet. Then it came to him, it was so obvious of course, he was so thick, why hadn't he of thought of this earlier? purple eyes, yellow glow, sweating, thrashing, high temperature, all the classic symptons. Martha had told him that an aestroid had collided with her ship, which sent her crashing onto Earth. There was probably something alien on that aestroid, afterall she couldn't of been in a ship crash like that and not come out without a little bit of injury. Since she was a timelady, she must of healed herself but in the process, something alien infected her. It must of crept in her ship after the collison. The Doctor ignored his past self and past companion, shot Martha an urgent look and ran through the centre of Cardiff until he made it back to his tardis. He'd deal with the other probelms after he sorted Jenny out, who was his biggest priority at the moment.

"Do you know what's wrong with her?" Martha asked, speaking for the first time since they'd arrived at that feild. He swung open the doors and ran past the console room, through the hallway and into the infirmary. He lay her down on one of the beds and ran around the room like a lunatic. Martha stared at him. "Doctor, answear me!"

"I think, if I'm right and I usually am, she's been infected by some sort of alien flu, something along those lines at least" he told her and Martha nodded and took a seat beside Jenny's bed as the Doctor rushed about all over the place, looking for cure.

Jack had, had just about enough of sitting around in the hub, doing nothing. He wanted to help and not just because he was bored, Jenny had needed help but instead he'd acted like a real jerk earlier. He had to make it up to her somehow and Jack was getting worried. He got into the lift and was nearly blinded by daylight as he stepped out into Cardiff centre. Just as Jack had started walking up the street, something caught his eye. Not something actually but someones. Oh great he was hallucinating, just what he needed right now. Hmm, maybe he'd caught something off Jenny while he'd sat next to her earlier. He shut his eyes but when he opened them again, they were still there. The old Doctor and Rose, just as he'd known them when they'd first met. Wondering what the hell was going on, he gave into temptation and waltzed right infront of the man he used to know. "Doctor, what the hell are you doing here?" he said tugging on the Doctor's leather jacket and he turned around and recieved a glare.

"Sorry, do I know you?" Jack looked at him suprised.

"Er...how did you get here? you don't look like that anymore" Jack asked and the Doctor nodded in understanding. Jack figured this must be the Doctor and Rose right before they'd met.

"We musn't of met you yet " the Doctor said, confirming Jack's supicions."We got here accidently but my other self should be able to sort it" Jack looked at Rose and winked.

"Rose Tyler last time I saw you, we we're saving the universe". Rose blushed at his attention. The Doctor looked at him, jealously and took hold of Rose's hand possessively.

"So how do we meet?"

"Sorry, if I told you that it would ruin all the fun" Jack grinned cheekily.

"Buy me a drink first" he said grumpily. "Me and Rose will have to forget about this anyway" The Doctor said tighting his grip of Rose's hand.

"Sorry, doc but I have no time to chat. Do you know where your 'other self' got to?" Jack asked, remembering why he'd left the hub in the first place.

"Tardis with the girl" he said awkardly. Jack nodded, flashed them a smile and then ran towards the blue box which was parked conviently right near the hub.
