Leia awoke the next morning with a mix of emotions. She was excited because today was her and Han's second wedding anniversary, and soon they would be flying away to some private planet where they could be completely alone and without interruption. She was nervous because she wanted everything to go off without a hitch and her and Han didn't have the best track record in that position.

Rolling over to face her husband, Leia found she was alone. Confused, she shot upright, stretched, and called out to her husband.

"Han? Where are you?"

But the last of her words were drowned out as the bedroom door pushed open and in came Han with a breakfast tray. He had a huge, cocky grin on his face.

"I made you breakfast," he told her as he placed the tray down in front of her and hopped onto the bed.

"That is very sweet of you, Han," Leia reached over to kiss him before picking up a piece of toast. "Are you ready for your big surprise?" She grinned.

Han's face fell. "Uh, yeah. About that sweetheart. What exactly do you have in mind because I'm not sure I'm feeling all that well." He tried his hardest to look downtrodden and Leia couldn't help but laugh.

"Is that right?" She asked him. "Well, that's too bad because I was really looking forward to our private celebration.

Now he looked confused. "Private?" He asked her. "As in, just you and me? Like, no one else? No party or anything?"

She loved his expressions, especially when she had caught him off guard.

Leia tried her best to look puzzled. "Party? Oh Han, I'm sorry! Did you want a big party? I mean, it's a little late to do that now, but I'm sure we could plan one for next week if you really wanted."

Han answered right away. "No, no I don't want no party. Hey! Wait a minute. Are you sure there's no party because you've been planning something these past few weeks and I could've sworn it had to do with a party."

Now Leia couldn't even contain her laugh. "Yes, that's right. I have been planning something, but it's not a party. You just happened to think in that direction and I just happened to let you."

She looked immensely proud of herself because usually it was her looking at Han in the way he was now pondering confusedly. Feeling an overwhelming sensation to be close with him, she leaned over, pulled his face towards hers and kissed him. All confusion lost, he responded immediately and deepened the kiss.

Coming up for a breath of air, Han smiled deviously at her. "So sweetheart, does that surprise of yours start now or can we do it later?"

"Oh, it can definitely wait. I just have to do one thing first." Leia got out of bed, much to Han's protestations, picked the breakfast tray up and put it on a nearby table. She walked slowly over to him, teasing but inviting. Sitting down on his lap she asked him, "Now, where were we?"

Their lips met again, craving each other's touch, and Leia could feel her entire body tingling. How he made her feel this good she would never know, but she did know she never wanted to lose that feeling.

Han lowered her down on the bed and crawled on top of her, never breaking the kiss. After a few moments, Leia felt overwhelmed by her love for him, and pulled him down to wrap her arms completely around him. He took this opportunity to begin placing kisses on her neck and down her jaw line. She moaned out and he moved to kiss her lips once more.

He continued to move slow as he caressed every bare inch of her body. She tried to speed up the process, wanting him desperately, but he slowed down her ministrations and gave her a quick wink. Leia took the wink to understand that this was payback for her tricking him. It was glorious, tormenting payback, but Leia was glad to comply.

It wasn't until every single part of her was burning for him that he finally put her out of her misery and entered her. Their bodies created a smooth rhythm, increasing with every passing second until neither could take it anymore. She came first in a flush of passion, her relief causing Han to come immediately after.

After what felt like an eternity, Han spoke out, "So there's really no party?"

Leia laughed out loud, kissed him, and reassured him that if there was going to be a party, it would only be for two.

They laid together in silence just enjoying being in one another's company.

Leia felt herself drifting off when Han's voice called her from sleep.

"Sweetheart?" He whispered gently.

Matching his tone she answered, "Mmm, yes?"

He grinned at her sleepy reply. "Do you want your present now sweetheart?"

Suddenly, Leia was much more awake. "Yes! What is it?"

"Just one second, let me just grab it," he told her as he climbed out of bed.

Leia shivered as the cold hit her when Han left the bed. She watched him go into his drawers and dig around. She was enjoying her view as he bent down, and blushed when he turned around. He didn't even pause at her unabashed stare, probably used to it after all of these years, and sat back down on the bed.

Han held out a small velvet box as he spoke. "Now this, sweetheart, is something I picked up in Corellia a long time ago. I forgot I had it, but I found it one day when I was cleaning out the Falcon, and I thought you'd like to have it.

Han had a way of being extremely romantic without even realizing it. While he may not have been great at speaking his beliefs, his actions were always calm and subtle, and spoke exactly what he wanted to get across without having to explain it in words.

Leia took the box out of his hands and opened it to find a dark red pendant.

"Oh Han, this is beautiful." She found herself whispering, even though there was no need to, as a front of emotions hit her. The pendant was a beautiful ruby, but the object wasn't quite what had made her so emotional. It was the fact that it was Corellian, something from his home planet that he rarely ever discussed with anyone, that made the gift all the more meaningful.

She didn't know what else to say, so she kissed him with all the force she could. He laughed as he played with a strand of her hair. He was obviously a little abashed at having given such a personal gift, even to her, and even after all these years. She changed the subject.

"Do you want your surprise now?" She asked him.

He looked at her now, his eyes glinting. "Does it involve me, you, and naked?"

She laughed again and answered, "It just may well if you play your cards right."

He went to kiss her, but she dodged it, and hopped out of bed. "Ok captain, pack yourself a bag and let's get to it!"

"A bag of what?" He looked skeptical.

"Only the necessities. You know, toothbrush, toothpaste, maybe a swimsuit."

"We have all that stuff on the Falcon, we can just go."

Now she looked slightly anxious. "Well, actually Han. You see, we're uh, not actually taking the Falcon this time around.

Han just looked at her and she continued nervously.

"The thing is, when I was planning this trip, I kind of, sort of, just wanted everything to run smoothly and the Falcon doesn't always uh do that. You know?"

He continued to stare at her.

"I kind of just rented a different, smaller ship. But it's good this way because the Falcon is so recognizable and now, in this other ship, no one will know it's us and we can avoid all interruptions!"

He began to speak, but her diplomatic side began to roll as she continued to barrage him. "Now Han Solo. Stop being so damn stubborn! I love the Falcon just as much as you, but for once can you just let someone else do the planning and let things go the way I planned?"

She looked defiant, and after a few more moments of looking at her he burst out laughing.

"As you wish, sweetheart. Can you pack me my bag?"

Now it was her turn to look at him. Still chortling he nodded, "Alright, alright, I'll pack the bags, sweetheart. Where are we going anyways?"

"Just pack what I told you, and I'll let you know more once we get on the ship." She skipped away to clean up the dishes and to make sure the apartment was in order before they left. Leia could hear Han whistling in the bedroom and she smiled, excited for the rest of the weekend.

So far, so good.
