Ch.6: No Worries

The morning sun woke me up to find Haru's hand grabbing onto mine. I forgot that we fell asleep together but it was nice to see Haru's peaceful sleeping face again.

Our faces were so close together that I tried to synchronize our breathing so we'd be in perfect rhythm.

I heard someone come upstairs.

"Misa! Breakfast's ready if you're awake!" Tohru called.

"Kay! Thanks!" I replied. I tried to wake Haru up but it was useless. He slept like he was in hibernation.

I got up, changed clothes quickly before Haru got up to see me naked, and headed downstairs.

The whole gang had already started eating.

"Morning Misa, Tohru set up a wonderful breakfast for us all." Yuki greeted me, I smiled as I saw all the delicious breakfast meals on the table, like eggs, bacon, and toast.

I sat down and chowed.

"Did anyone see Hatsuharu leave yesterday? I saw his shoes still left at the shoe rack," Shigure asked, he starred at me with a raised eyebrow, "or did yo guys have a good time last night?"

Shigure grinned and started cracking up. I gave him a 'you better shut up before I throw this bowl of rice at you'.

"Hi everyone."

We all looked up to see Haru in his boxers and his hair all disheveled but what was more eye-catching was the thing sticking out of his boxers.

Tohru was obviously freaked out and embarrassed when she noticed the bump on Haru's boxers, I was just really embarrassed of what the others may thing.

"Put on some damn pants!" Kyo yelled as he felt the awkwardness in the room.

"Shut up you lousy cat," Haru ignored Kyo and sat down at the table and grabbed himself some food. Haru wasn't much of a morning person.

"So I was right, you two did have a good time last night!" Shigure continued to laugh.

I smacked Shigure's face with my empty plate from irritation. He started to twitch from the pain.

"We did nothing last night! and Isn't that normal for guys to have a bon- a whatever in the morning!" I tried to defend myself.

"What are you talking about Misa? We had a wonderful time last night.. and this morning.." Haru said it unfazed, as if it was normal to talk about one's sex life.

"… Haru… I will kill you." I muttered.

"Great you guys, now everything's so damn awkward!" Kyo complained.

Tohru didn't have the courage to meet eye contact with anyone. She was still too shocked and disturbed. Yuki couldn't care less if Haru had an erection or not, he just wanted a peaceful morning.

"Tohru… you look really uncomfortable," I pointed out.

"OH NO! please don't worry about me… I… I…" Tohru was too embarrassed for words.

"She'd probably never seen an erection before… or at least none as big as mine. Right Yuki, Kyo?" Haru haughtily grinned.

Yuki and Kyo gave him death glares that I think I saw a spark of fire in their eyes. Tohru was speechless and red as a tomato.

"GO BACK TO THE SOHMA ESTATE YOU DAMN COW!" Kyo yelled.

"Yes, why don't you Haru… you're ruining my breakfast," Yuki calmly asked.

Haru shrugged, "fine, I'll leave, but I'm not going back to the Sohma estate. Misa and I are going to go see Rin at the hospital today."

Haru looked to me and gave me a gesture to ask if I was ready to go. I nodded and went back upstairs to go look for fresh clothes.

Then I remembered I had no clothes. I barely had any clothes back at the Sohma estate so I wasn't able to bring much.

I didn't want to leave with dirty clothes so I went to my last resort, I asked Tohru if I could borrow some clothes.

"Of course Misa! I have a couple of outfits I think would look cute on you!"

I didn't want to look cute. I wanted to look decent.

Tohru handed me the shortest mini skirt I've ever seen and a plain white V-neck. I shrugged, beggars couldn't be choosers.

"Thanks, I'll wash 'em before giving them back."

"It's no problem! Tell Rin that I say get well!"

I nodded to pass the message.

Haru was waiting outside for me, I said my see ya laters to everyone else in the house.

"Your outfit is cute," Haru smirked. I told him to shut up.

"You nervous?" I asked Haru.

"Why would I be?" he was skeptical.

"I don't know… because I am. I haven't actually talked to RIn since we were kids…"

"It'll go fine, you worry too much."

& for some reason, everytime Haru said things would go fine, I would believe him without question.

Rin was awake and she was just starring out the window. She didn't bother to look at us when we entered the hospital room.

"Hey RIn…" I said quietly. She turned and was surprised to see me. She had a faint smile and scars around her mouth.

"Hi Misa, wow it's been so long since we've last seen each other," Rin's voice was so weak it was as if she was whispering.

"You getting any better?" Haru asked.

"Yeah, it's nothing serious. Just a concussion and some scars," RIn said calmly.

"Honestly, that guy had to watch his damn temper," Haru bit his lip and quenched his fists.

"Where'd you guys come from? It's a surprise to see you guys… it's more of a surprise seeing you guys together," Rin looked away, "I don't think that's such a good idea… Akito will be infuriated if he sees you two."

I gulped. I knew she was right.

"You don't have to worry, that's our problem." Haru reassured.

"Just because you're not in the Sohma estate doesn't mean Akito doesn't have eyes else where…" Rin clarified.

It became silent. There was a knock on the door. Could it be Akito?

Hatori walked in in his formal attire as always.

"Oh. Haru, Misa, it's a surprise seeing you two here…." Hatori raised his eyebrows, Rin shrugged.

"Rin, the nurses said that you're in stable condition to return back home," Hatori stated.

Home. That place was where RIn called home, that place of terror.

Rin nodded, "do you guys mind if I talk to Misa alone? I haven't had alone time with her in a long time." Haru and Hatori both respected Rin's wish and left the room.

"…Misa… what the fuck do you think you're doing."

I was taken back a bit to hear such harsh words from a girl in a hospital bed.

"What are you talking about?" I asked.

"Don't play stupid. Why are you with him." Rin was referring to Haru.

"We're not together or anything! We're just enjoying each other's company…"

"Yeah that's what they all say before something happens…"

"Why do you even care, Rin?" I started to think RIn was still bitter and jealous over Haru.

"You know why Akito attacked me when he did? He went berserk cause he was so paranoid you two might end up together again. You should've seen Akito on his little rampage. It was terrifying." Rin looked down trying not to remember how she ended up with all her scars in the first place.

"I didn't know… I'm so sorry Rin… I'm sorry for Akito…" I was sincerely sorry.

"Don't apologize for Akito! Apologize for yourself! You have to come back to the Sohma estate Misa…"

FUCK THAT, I thought.

"That's the last thing I'll do, Akito kicked me out! Why would I want to return!"

"He's going crazy without you there! He… He has no one to play with anymore that he's letting out all his anger on everyone else!"

I was offended by Rin's comment, it was like she wanted to sacrifice my safety and happiness for everyone else's.

"That's not my problem!"

"You're making this fire bigger than it has to be," Rin said with a voice as cold as ice.

I didn't know what else to say. All I knew was that I didn't want to return to the Sohma estate, I was happy as far away from Akito as possible.

"I'm not trying to come off as a bitch, Misa, you know that. I just want to.. protect the both of you."

Before I could say anything a nurse walked in to tell Rin to get ready for her departure from the hospital.

Rin nodded, she got off the hospital bed and walked past me without saying anything or even looking at me.

- HARU'S POINT OF VIEW -

Rin was walking towards me and she had a look of bitter resentment. I wasn't sure what she and Misa were talking about but from the looks of it the conversation didn't go so well.

"What happened?" I asked.

"Akito knows."

Rin didn't bother to explain as she walked towards Hatori to get ready to go back to the estate.

Despite Rin not explaining what exactly Akito knew, I understood how bad the situation has gotten into now.

I looked inside the hospital room to see a worried Misa. I asked what was wrong, she shook her head and didn't bother to give me an answer.
