Back at the tower, then team sat in a circle in the common room, taking turns listening and prodding Apollo with questions about what happened at the bank, and how she acquired the mysterious sapphire ring. "So let me get this straight," said Cyborg as he rose to his feet and began pacing the floor. "Red X kidnapped you and took you into the safe-room (filled with priceless items), where he warned you to leave before things got out of hand; but instead you stayed and ran into this elastic lady who you claim was the real robber of the armory-"

"I'm not claiming anything!" shouted Apollo. "I know!"

Ignoring her statement, Cyborg rolled his eyes and continued. "Anyway, you two started fighting until she managed to escape, leaving you shut in the safe, only to be released by Red X who you think never actually left the bank?" Tired and annoyed, Apollo lazily nodded her head.

"And he left you the ring because?" asked Raven sarcastically.

"Like I know?" sighed Apollo. "Apparently the guy likes messing with people, and clearly I'm his newest target."

"But why would he leave a ring?"

"I don't know! Maybe he doesn't want it anymore; maybe it's not his color… maybe the jerks trying to propose!" Apollo shouted sarcastically.

"But Starfire says she saw a drawing you made of the same ring," stated Robin as he turned away from his pondering spot at the window. "You've seen this ring before…"

"Yeah, I did," stated Apollo matter-o-factly. "You want answers so I'm giving them to you. I have seen this ring before…" she said coldly. Immediately, everyone's expressions changed as they took in her words. "I saw it back at the jewelry store- the first time you guys ignored me. Maybe if you'd all been paying attention and came to help with the fight, you all could've gotten a nice long look at it! Heck, maybe then he'd leave us all rings!" she screamed, furiously waving the accessory in her hand. Realizing her growing hostility, Robin stepped forward and tried to calm the girl down.

"Apollo," he said calmly. "Just talk to us."

"Yes let us help you," added Starfire.

"It's a little late for that, don't you think?" she mumbled angrily.

"Yeah, considering that you never stayed around long enough for us to help before," muttered Cyborg under his breath.

"Excuse me?" asked Apollo as she pushed her way past Robin and stood in front of Cyborg.

"I said-"

"No, I know what you said!" snapped Apollo as she stared into the eyes of her biggest headache. "You see, I did let you guys help me; three times I waited for you to come and help me. I shouted for you guys repeatedly, waiting for you to come, but as usual, you show up just a little too late. Why is that?" she asked, sharply cocking her head to the side and deepening her stare for a moment before seeing a faint silver glow in her reflection. Quickly she turned away and attempted to regain her composure. "Look," she sighed in a calmer manner. "I know things seem sketchy, but you have to listen to me; there's someone else behind all of this, and unless we start looking for her, she's gonna get away with a lot more. Red X isn't the problem, and after tonight, I think it's clear that we've been worrying about the wrong thief." Her voice died off slightly as she looked down at the ring on the computer counter, then back at the others, "Trust me." For a moment there was no response, but finally Robin stepped forward and- sharing a brief glance with everyone else before Apollo- he picked up the ring, then gestured for her to follow him to the roof.

Once outside, the two sat under the midday sun and spoke; discussing everything Apollo had said inside and whether or not her claims were plausible. As she continued to speak, Robin- the one person who had managed to stand by her and believe what she was trying to explain to the others- took the time to listen and think on what she had told him, while at the same time, reflecting on what had already happened and the doubts Cyborg had already planted in his subconscious. While it was true that Apollo was the daughter of the Teen Titans' arch enemy, and it was true that in their first mission with Apollo, she had used her masterful skills of acting and charismatic manipulation to achieve her desired outcome... no one had ever betrayed the team; and deep in his mind-despite what the others felt- Robin knew that Apollo was certainly not going to be the first to change that. After hearing her side of the story and answering his questions about Red X and the one now known as Madame Rouge, Robin stood and walked back into the tower with his friend. Back in the common room, he voiced his decision, deciding to have a discussion with the others- with the exception of one titan in particular. "We need to discuss the circumstances," he said to Apollo in his most calming manner. "It will only take a few minutes. I'll come and get you when we're done."

Though his intentions were harmless- a mere attempt to convince his friends that she was telling the truth- Apollo stepped backward, away from who she thought was her friend, and began to walk out of the room, crushed. "Okay…" she said in a distant and chillingly emotionless manner. Even Robin was taken aback by the hollow tone in her voice, a characteristic he'd only heard in one other voice. "When you're finished 'discussing'," she continued, looking around at the faces that surrounded her. "I'll be in… the 'guest' room." Silent, but swiftly she walked through the doors.

The day progressed as usual in Jump City. However, the same couldn't be said for Titan's Tower. After what felt like hours of arguments and deep discussions, it looked like the jury had finally reached a verdict. "Yeah but-"

"But nothing," commanded Raven, as she silenced another attempt at a ridiculous counter argument by Beast Boy; she turned and looked to Robin, "What do you think?"

"Well nothing that we've concluded points to anyone else," he answered, rising from his seat at the computer. "There are only three possible suspects-"

"This 'Rouge' lady Apollo keeps babbling about," scoffed Beast Boy.

"Red X," growled Robin. "Or-" he paused and looked around at the rest of the team.

"Apollo," Cyborg said, bluntly completing his friend's sentence. The team looked around at one another in silence, taking in what had been determined. Though there was nothing to say, it was clear that the emotions and opinions in the room remained just as mixed and unsure as they had in the beginning when this mess had first started.

Finally breaking the silence, Starfire looked to Robin and spoke, "Perhaps now we should get Apollo?" he nodded and the two of them walked out of the room to retrieve their teammate. "Apollo?" said Starfire sweetly as she knocked on the door. With no answer, she looked to her friend before knocking again; still without a response, Robin stepped up and tried his luck at gaining her attention.

"Apollo?" he called, while knocking on the door, but still she didn't answer. Confused, he and Starfire exchanged glances before he opened the door and they entered the room. Once inside, Starfire switched on the light as she continued to call Apollo's name. Within seconds Starfire had rushed out of the room and down the hall, bursting through the main doors to the common room. Startled, Raven, Cyborg and Beast Boy all looked up in response to the distressed look on their friend's face.

"What is it Star?" asked Cyborg as he and the others crowded around the girl. "What happened?"

Silent at first, Starfire finally looked up to her friends and in a shaken voice replied, "She's gone…"

*Well that's it for that chapter. I'm almost towards the end of this fic; I can feel it. But don't worry; things won't end as badly as they're turning out! Will update soon, and please keep reviewing! 8D*
