Chapter 2

Natasha Romanoff

Slap. The sound of a hand hitting flesh rings throughout the room. It turns dead silent and everyone turns to stare at the red headed wonder who just slapped Tony Stark.

"Nat?" Clint Barton asks.

She spins around and glares at him. He backs up slightly and her green eyes pierce into him.

She storms out of the room with her red curly hair bouncing behind her. Finding stairs she heads toward the roof. She reaches the top and slams open the door. Finding a corner in the highest peak she sits down and stares over New York City.

You know Barton loves you right?

That thought haunts her. Love is for children. Not for grown assassins. But yet she can't help but wonder if Stark is telling the truth. Sometimes Clint acts like they are the only two in the world and then other times he completely ignores her.

"Nat? Where are you?" His voice sounds.

"Here." She whispers softly.

She watches him glance around before seeing his eyes settle on her. Those hazel eyes have a way of paralyzing her if she looks into them too long.

"What did Tony do to you?" He questions her softly.

She shakes her head and turns away.

"Come on, Natasha. You can tell me anything. You know that."

"Not this time, Agent Barton." She replies coldly.

"Whoa slow down. When did I become Agent Barton again?"

She turns her head away from him and glares out at the city.

All of the sudden she feels his arms wrap around her. She stiffens but then slowly relaxes into his arms. She leans back against his lean, muscular chest. He gently strokes her hair and she closes her eyes. She allows two tears to fall before moving away.

"I'm sorry, Clint. I can't make it work between us. I'm sorry." She murmurs.

He shakes his head at her and stands up.

"We can take it slow."

"I can't, Clint. Assassins aren't supposed to show feelings." She says.

"Forget the job for once, Natasha. Live a little and forget your job." He says heatedly.

"How? How am I supposed to leave behind my horrible past and try to love you again? How Clint? Explain that one to me."

"Like this." He says and moves closer to her.

He wraps his arms around her waist and pulls her to him. He kisses her softly and she leans into it. When he breaks it off she rests her head on his shoulder. They slowly rock back and forth until Steve comes up and finds them.

Not a real interesting chapter but I hoped you enjoyed! I promise a better and longer one next time. Who should it be for the next chapter? Steve Rogers or Bruce Banner? PM me with your thoughts!
