Chapter 4
Clint Barton
Click. Clint spins around to see the door shut tightly behind him. He creeps forward in the blackness of the room. Breathing quietly he hear a faint rustle.
Reaching for an arrow he nocks one in his bow. Exhaling slowly he raises it up so he's ready to kill if needed. He widens his eyes in order to see better.
Walking slowly along the wall he reaches a cabinet. He climbs on top of it. From there he jumps to another taller cabinet. He lands with a soft thump. Whoever is in the room turns around and peers into the dark. Clint settles back against the wall and waits the person out.
As he sits there waiting he thinks of all that has been happening lately.
Steve coming back from his motorcycle ride breathless. He told his tale about how he saw Peggy.
Tony being annoying as usual and super bossy.
Pepper is a worrywart. She worries about everything. From Tony's health to Clint's bow condition.
Bruce has been quiet. He hasn't really been around much. He says he's working on maintaining his anger.
Earlier today the team was sitting around the table. Everyone except Thor of course. All of the sudden a crash came from Tony's workshop. The team voted and decided that Clint was the one to go check it out. Yay.
Oh and then there's Natasha. He can finally call her his. She's his girlfriend and no one can take that away from him. He would die for her but she would never dream of letting him do that. She claims she can take care of herself but lately she's more emotional than ever. They are planning their first date for next week.
Clint sighs softly and shifts impatiently.
One. Two. Three. Four. Five. Six. Seven.
Clint counts to one thousand in his head.
Finally the person nears the cabinet where Clint is sitting. He stands up slowly and waits until the person reaches up to open the top drawer. He pulls back the drawstring and touches the arrow tip to the person's forehead lightly.
"Move and I'll shoot you." He mutters lowly.
He feels the person's forehead furrow in confusion.
"I mean it." Clint growls.
The person raises their hands in surrender. Clint breathes out a sigh of relief. He removes one hand from his bow and keeping his eyes on the shadowy figure he reaches into his pocket and chucks a small pebble at the light switch. The light flicks on.
Clint blinks rapidly a couple times and squints at the person in front of him. No it can't be. Shaggy blond hair. Bright blue eyes. Tall and buff.
"Brother Clint!" Thor exclaims happily. The god of lightening is back.
A/N This chapter was kind of supposed to be confusing but I guess it didn't really turn out that way! Sorry to have a long wait. I'll be putting Bruce's chapter up soon! Please R&R it really makes my day. :) Thank you for reading this!
