Once, the world of minecraft was populated by Steves. Life was good, and the Steves made villages and temples. Everyone looked the same, so there was no teasing; only helping with buildings. The Steves wrote books, made farms, and went on daring adventures. Everyone had something to do, and everyone was happy.
One day, a Steve was mining happily, when he found an ore. It wasn't diamonds, or gold, or…anything that he knew! He took out his diamond pick, and mined it, to see what it was, but as soon as he mined it his eyes turned pure white, he gained powers to rival those of Notch, and his mind was broken. The power was just too much for him.
"I call myself…HEROBRINE! And I am the new lord of minecraft!"
He went on to wreak terror on the innocent citizens, killing them, destroying their houses and crops, calling lightning forth to strike pigs and creepers, creating new, deadly creatures. The Steves rallied, and attempted a counter-strike, but it was no use. Soon, all but a handful were dead. After most of the Steves were wiped out, a living rainbow tried to kill Herobrine, but he was made out of water and sun, so he just blew away.
Notch realized that the Steves stood no chance by themselves, so he materialized in their midst.
Notch appeared amidst the carnage. He looked at what Herobrine had done, and, filled with rage, he charged.
"I'll kill you, you BASTARD!"
"Go ahead and try it."
With his army of acolytes behind him, Herobrine ran at Notch.
The last few living Steves followed Notch as he ran at Herobrine.
"Hammer of NOOOOOTTTTTCCCHHH!"
A very powerful looking hammer materialized in Notch's hand, as he rose up to strike. Herobrine materialized a white sword, made out of the same glitchstone that turned him mad, and held it out defensively.
The resonating clang could be heard for thousands of blocks. As both armies stood, stunned, a wave of light cascaded over the minecraft world, shattering it into different dimensions. Each Steve ended up in their own dimension, alone except for idiotic "shadows" of the other Steves. (These are now known as villagers.) Eventually, though, the few Steves who know what truly happened in the Great Catastrophe figured out how to meet once again, through Bridge Dimensions, which are what you call servers. And fear not, there are still those who are working toward the unity that was before Herobrine. They have had a small success, which is what you call LAN worlds. They kept working, and invented Realms. They are still working tirelessly, and soon, the dimensions will all merge into one, huge, glorious paradise.
