Katherine looked up in to Elijah's eyes. How could she not have realized how much he loved her before? How much she loved him?
This man had loved her since the first time they met.
He had just told her that and she couldn't believe it was true.
She smiled and gave him a quick but gentle kiss before continuing gazing up in his hazel brown eyes.
"I've been in love with you too since the first time you caught my eyes. I knew you weren't as evil as you put out to be."
He smiled and rolled over so that he was lying completely on top of her, covering her body with his.
"Yeah," he said and held her hands in a firm grip, separate above her head, pushed down on the bed.
"You're still claiming that after last night?"
She laughed and kissed him again, this time not as gentle but just as quick.
"Maybe not." She breathed.
He leaned down and pushed his mouth on her and pressed his tongue through her teeth.
She pulled away a little and took a deep breath.
"Again, really?" She smiled in his mouth knowing exactly what he was about to do.
"I just can't get enough of you."
"Good" She smirked and let him gain complete control over her body.
Katherine woke up with Elijah's body tangled around hers.
Slowly she started to get free, so that she wouldn't wake him, but she failed.
As his eyes opened he noticed that she had made an attempt to get free, so he pulled her closer and kissed her passionately.
"Well hello there sleepyhead." She said when he finally released her and she got a moment to breath. "We're in that mood I see."
"We're always in that mood when we're with you, beautiful." He grinned and leaned in for another breathtaking kiss.
She pushed him away.
"Oh no! Not now mister!"
She quickly got out of the bed to avoid his grip and turned around so that she didn't have to see his hurt face.
She started dress herself and picked up the black, slimming top from yesterday that she let slide on.
"Not so fast!"
He was by her side in a split second and pushed her half-naked body down on the bed again.
"What are you doing?!" She shrieked and tried to sound devastated.
He ripped the top apart, flashing her upper body and leaned down a second time to kiss her.
He started kissing her neck and slowly went south.
"Elijah…" Katherine groaned. "We can't do this again. Not now. We need to get out of your house today."
He looked up at her with a seductive grin.
"Are you sure…" Elijah murmured, rolling his tongue on the 'r' in 'sure' and dragged his teeth along her left side and cupped her right breast with his cold hand.
Katherine opened her mouth to answer but all that came out was a deep moan.
"I didn't think so." He continued and let her go, just for a second, so that he could drag her down over the bed, far enough for her legs to bend over the side, and open them wide.
"Elijah… what are you doing?"
"Ssshhhh…" He whispered and let his fingers wander from her neck and down to her thigh.
"Just trust me."
Katherine put her head up to watch what he was doing to her body and saw how her lover's eyes turned red and his fangs got visible.
"Oh…" She breathed when she finally understood what he was about to do.
A loud groan went through her compressed teeth when she felt his lips on her right thigh just before he sunk his fangs into her and fed.
The feeling was exquisite; it was like nothing she had felt before.
They both moaned in pleasure, both pleased with the throbbing feeling that went through their body's, united with the mixed feeling of pain, pleasure and love.
"Oh My God!" Rebekah exclaimed and turned around as soon as she saw what her brother was doing with Katherine who quickly pushed Elijah away from her stood up, shaking off the numbness from the act.
"We really need to stop walking in on each other Rebekah," Katherine smiled embarrassed towards her lover's sister while she picked up one of Elijah's shirts and put it on, since he had ripped apart the only top she had brought.
"Or at least learn how to knock" Elijah muttered.
In that moment, Katherine and Rebekah shared a look that was as new to them as the thing they'd reacted on was. If they weren't wrong, then Elijah was mortified.
"Oh brother, you really need to ease up a little, but I guess that's what you were doing before I interrupted?"
Rebekah faced her brother again as soon as she had established that the lovers had covered themselves.
"And please put some pants on! I mean I am your sister and I can tell you that I'm not very comfortable seeing this much of you."
"I'll do you one better! I'll just leave the room!" He stomped off to some other part of the house and left Katherine alone with his sister.
"So?" Was the first thing Katherine said when he was gone.
"So what?" Rebekah looked confused.
"So what did you want? Because I'm guessing you didn't willingly walk in on your brother getting sexy." She explained. "So what's up?"
"Oh, that. It was really nothing." Rebekah blushed. "Or actually it was, but I kinda lost what I wanted after seeing all of… that!" She whirled her hand around in front of her towards the bed while looking away from it in disgust.
"I see… But I'm still guessing it was important enough for someone not to wait for us to pick up our phones. So I would really appreciate it if you could try to remember."
"Uhm…" Rebekah started and tried to remember.
"Oh! Right! Stefan wanted everybody to meet at their mansion… No wait! At the Lockwood mansion tonight to discuss further about the two new problems that have appeared." She looked proud about herself for remembering it all. Like a little child.
"That's it!" She continued when Katherine gave her a look that said "was that all?"
She turned around and was just about to leave when she was stopped by a now fully clothed and furious Elijah standing in the doorpost.
"What do you mean 'Two new problems'?" He said with a low, brooding voice and forced her back into the bedroom.
"So you're saying that not only has this new vamp that nobody seem to be able to detect, have had a massacre, but also Phil Cripkey has been murdered?!" Elijah yelled at his sister who looked really frightened.
"Elijah, honey, I think you can let go of her arm and stop yelling now," Katherine whispered in a try to calm him down, but even she was frightened of him and kept her distance.
"It's not her fault that nobody has been able to contact us, you know, to tell us what's going on." She continued.
"No, it's not." He said, released his sister and turned around to look at his girlfriend. His eyes darkened as he was talking to her.
"It's not her fault at all." He got up and pushed her not so gently to the plaster walls. "It's yours."
"Elijah, please…" She begged when his grip harshened around her wrists and she looked around the room to seek help from Rebekah, but she had left the building as soon as he had released her.
"Your decisions, your consequences. Live with them." A cruel grin spread over his face.
"Or maybe not for now." He said and broke her neck.
Katherine woke up by a noise and realized too late that the noise was the yelling of the two remaining Mikaelson brothers.
"HOW CAN YOU EVEN THINK THAT? DO YOU REALLY THINK I WOULD SINK SO LOW?!" Niklaus Mikaelson yelled to his older brother.
"NIKLAUS I DEFINITELY THINK YOU WOULD SINK THAT LOW! BECAUSE YOU'RE ALWAYS LOWER THAN THAT!" Elijah yelled back.
"I CAN'T BELIEVE IT! NOT YOU TOO! WHY DO PEOPLE ALWAYS SAY THAT?! I'M NEVER THAT LOW!"
"May I remind you of what you did to Tyler Lockwood's mother just because you were mad at him? Or what you did to Finn? To Kol? To Rebekah?"
Elijah had the low, calm and life-threatening voice that came with the Mikaelson family.
"And what did you mean 'not you too'? Who else have you discussed this with, brother?"
Katherine opened her eyes slowly to try to see Klaus' face and he reacted immediately on the small movement from her.
"She's awake." He said and vanished.
Elijah smiled a "please forgive me"-smile as he slowly went towards her in a relaxed but careful way, just like when you're trying to reassure a scared animal that you won't hurt him.
He stopped for a moment when his ancient cell buzzed.
Brother, make sure Katerina keeps her distance from me, the only reason she's alive right now is because of you. From now on she's your responsibility and if she does anything that's out of the line, I'm gonna make your work permanent.
Klaus
Elijah sighed and put his phone away before he continued his "do not scare the animal"-walk.
He put a gentle kiss on her forehead and she saw how hurt he looked when she stiffened and pulled away from the touch.
"Katerina…"
Her body reacted to her old name like it used to do to his touch. It wasn't afraid of him like the rest of her was.
"I'm so, so sorry Katerina. I don't know what happened. I just got taken away by my anger. You know that Phil was a great friend of mine and hearing from my sister the horrible way he died… I just lost it, okay?"
He tried to put a hand on her left cheek.
Her body stiffened once more by his touch, ready to flee at any second, but she resisted the urge to pull away and run away.
She knew he didn't mean to do it, he just lost it. It could happen to even the sanest and most calm person in the world. The bad temperament was a typical Mikaelson gene. It was only natural that he had it too. He was just very good at suppressing it.
She realized that this time was the first time in a very long time that she had looked danger in the eye and hadn't fled the scene in the moment she detected trouble.
It must be him. The last time she stayed and faced the danger was the first time they met, when he was hunting her for his brother.
Her love for this man was greater than her fear for him or his brother. That's why she had stayed in town even before the doppelgänger and the Bitch-Witch had gotten to her, before she had developed a friendship with Stefan.
It had been him all this time. He was her savior, her hero, her everything.
As she realized this, her body slowly started to relax and she eased into his touch by resting her head on his hand.
"So, am I forgiven?" He whispered and looked so insecure and worried like a child.
She smiled at him and took his head between her hands so that she could pull it closer to hers
"Yes," she whispered back into his mouth and kissed him.
Rebekah looked at the giant clock on the wall behind her for the millionth time.
"Seriously? They said we'd begin at 12!" She exclaimed. "It's seven thirty! What the hell are they waiting for?!"
"Take it easy, Rebekah, there's been an incident and we're just waiting for all of the evidence to get here." Martha Hubus whispered calmingly and moved her chair closer, but still kept her distance.
Even though she was now part of the counsel, they still did that, kept their distance. It was like she'd suddenly ended up in the 1950:s and she was black. The only difference was that this was true racism.
"Wait... There was in incident?! When?!" Rebekah shouted and got angry looks from half of the counsel.
"Yes, there was an incident. You'll know more about it when they get here with the evidence." Martha said and turned around to show that that was the end of it.
Rebekah felt like a kid until Martha, as curious as the town's head journalist and a dirty old hag should be, turned around again and asked "If you don't mind me asking, where's your brother, dear?"
Now this really got on her nerves. Elijah, with his charm and his ways, had of course won over every single old hag in this room and was as accepted as Alaric Saltzman or Bill Forbes had been. They treated him like royalty and gave him looks that would make anyone throw up on their ugly ass Easter colored shirts.
If they'd seen what she had just half an hour
With that explanation, she exploded on "poor" Martha Hubus.
"I DON'T KNOW! HE'S PROBABLY OFF SOMEWHERE, BANGING HIS NEW GIRLF…riend again…"
She stopped when she realized she'd caught the despised looks from the other half of the counsel as well as the already angry looking one.
"Sorry," she hastily muttered as she stood up and got out of the cramped room in vamp-speed, which to her satisfaction made a whole bunch of the gray-haired ladies frown and start to whisper and gossip.
Her phone started suddenly to buzz in her pocket and she picked it up, just to see the face of the person she wanted the most right now.
Staring lovingly at his picture, she almost forgot to pick up, but the caught herself and pressed her thumb over the answer-line.
"Matt." She said. It was all that needed to be said for her to feel better. Knowing, hearing and feeling him breathe on the other side of the line. It was like someone gave her a "feel better"-pill and she was immediately cured of the self-loath and criticism.
"Rebekah"
He body began to shiver from the affection and love in his voice, which turned to worry after he'd analyzed hers.
"Babe, what wrong?" He asked, so worried it made her cry.
"Nothing, I just miss you so much."
God, how could she be weeping this much? It was embarrassing as hell!
But that feeling too was cured when she heard him smile and sensed a tone of genuine gratefulness and love when he answered.
"Rebekah, we saw each other less than twenty-four hours ago when I woke up in your bed. Will you please stop worrying about me, I won't get killed. I promise.
"Hey, you know what? Let's just meet up and have a date night instead of going to that meeting the others are having at Tyler's. I could pick you up right now and we could start off with a nice, long, hot bath? Okay?"
Rebekah was ready to accept, but got distracted of Martha sticking her head out, calling for her.
"Rebekah! They're here! They've finally arrived, and it's horrible!" She shouted and did not sound as grossed out or terrified as she should have.
"I can't..." She sadly told Matt. "You go to the party and I'll meet up with you guys there. Something big has happened and the evidence from an incident has just been brought to us, so I have to hang up now."
He sighed and she could hear the disappointment in his voice when he spoke.
"Okay, but you owe me a date with a hot bath."
"I'll give you two if you keep quiet about the incident for now so I have time to dig a little into this before my brothers come over here with their excavators."
"That sounds promising" He said understandingly and hung up on her.
She turned around and walked in to the room again, now filled with even more hags and too-many-cats-and-too-much-ice-cream women in even more dreadful Easter colored shirts, most of the newcomers were also wearing matching, weird heighted skirts.
As she sat down, a middle-aged, bearded police officer, Dylan Hardling, put up some pictures on the smartboard.
"This is what we have to deal with" He said and looked every single hag in the eye with a serious "I'm not joking" stare. He made a dramatic, acted pause to let them all just consume just how grim the situation was by looking at all of the heartbreaking photos.
The first picture that caught her eye was the one covering the whole scene; a playground with torn apart bodies lying on the ground. Each body shaping a letter, creating the word "Revenge" in the sand.
Rebekah took a closer look at the picture and spotted a blood trail going down the slide. She followed it with her eyes and found herself looking away when she saw what seemed to be left of an infant, not even her brother would something so barbaric.
It took her a while, looking at the other pictures, to understand what she was seeing. It wasn't just some usual vampire they were dealing with, he or she was so cruel that they'd massacre seven children and an infant.
This, this was just too much. Still, she couldn't look away.
Even though this barbaric act of cruelty was disturbing, there was something terribly familiar about the view.
A tiny part of her was glowing with satisfaction and happiness every time she heard a new pair of feet running out of the room and disappeared when the sound of hulking and big masses of puke splashing to the floor appeared.
When she realized she was the only one left in the room, with Dylan, when he began shutting down the smartboard.
"So how come you're not out there, puking your guts out?" He asked and looked just a little too curious.
"You know," She began and remembered that all the cops in this town had gotten some sort of basic hunter training, if they were to ever have to arrest a vampire (or something).
"I would, but it would kinda hurt my vampire reputation."
"So vampire, huh?" He looked a little surprised, to her surprise, most people who knew about vampire could guess it from the beginning.
"Yeah… Original and all." She smirked and realized she was flirting. Not a good idea Bekah, not a good idea.
His eyes suddenly starting to shine when she mentioned "original".
"Then you must be the one who the detective thought could handle this." He said and pulled out an iPad with a video on it.
"It was left on the scene and we, the police, thought that since you're so…" He swallowed hard. "…Old…" He gave her an excused look, but she didn't really care, she was in fact very old.
"…That maybe you would recognize something. Maybe it's someone you know…"
She was about to give him the "just because I'm a vampire doesn't mean I know all vampires"-speech, but he cut her off before she got a chance to.
"Just watch." Was all he said before pressing play.
The video began rolling and a couple of kids came into sight.
They were laughing loudly, but you could see how they were missing at least a fifth of their blood.
More kids entered the screen, six of them now, and then Rebekah heard something that made her blood freeze.
A laughter she'd thought she'd never hear again. A cold, ruthless, psycho laugh.
"Listen closely now." Dylan said, unaware of the reaction the laughter had had on her.
A shrieking from a swing echoed through her ears before the sound of an oh-so-familiar voice.
"You will not care about the blood loss. You'll keep on playing with your siblings like it's a football game you have to win," and into to the picture came to last little innocent child running.
Stiff as a metal bar, she stood hastily up and shut of the horribly detailed video.
"She's compelling them." She breathed.
"Do you know who it is?" He asked curiously.
"Alexandra." Rebekah whispered and ran out of the room.
