A/N: Vega/Aria explains more about his past and continues to visit his family and ponders the brother he has just learned next chapter will be longer this was a sort of interlude.

Summary: Vega contemplates brotherhood

The forest buzzed with life; birds sang cheerily, squirrels chittered excitedly, and cicadas hummed loudly. Tree were green and full. The sky overhead was cloudy though the sky was visible in small blue splotches. The air was permeated with the smell of ozone. The flowers were turned the sky and waited for relief from their thirst. There was a crack and Vega appeared in the cemetery as he had many times before.

"Happy Easter," he said, "I've decided that my name will be Vega for now."

He repeated his familiar walk between tombstones as he headed towards the wooden fence. He made a few more loops than normal, then eventually made it to the fence. Instead of sitting down, he stood on the bottom rung of the fence and braced himself against the upper. The wood made a soft noise of protest as it acclimated to his weight. It was more worn and would be in need of repairs after the heavy rains it had endured this season.

"I have a brother, my biological father is dead but he has a godson, so that means I have a brother, right," he said.

He leaned against the wooden fence and contemplated the grass below his feet. It was a healthy green, but not quite the same green as his god brother's. He knew what his god brother looked like and some of facts about his life. He was still gathering information, there was a lot of it and he was certain much of it would need to be taken with a grain of salt. Harry Potter was the subject of many rumors and speculations.

"He's younger than me by five years, but I am little bit older than that. I think with the math properly worked out I am seven or six years older than him. I don't know time travel and anti-aging was involved, so I'm not really sure except that he's younger. His life has been pretty bad too, from what I've seen so far," he said.

He tilted his head as he felt a drop of water hit his face. He looked up to see several more drops following. The drops were steady and even as they continued. He watched as the flowers lost their thirst and the water seeped into the ground. It made the grass shiny and the headstones slick. The wind tumbled about playfully and managed to make the rain slant sideways. He smiled and stepped of the fence and out of the protection of the fir tree. He turned his face to the sky and let the rain soak him happily.

"I want to meet him, but I'm not sure. I think I'm going to though I want to help him, but I think I might get to know him before I tell him. That way if he doesn't like me it won't be awkward. I can just leave and he won't be any wiser. Nobody knows about me so he won't find out if things do go wrong," he said.

He lowered his face and turned to stare at the headstones once more.

"I'm going to make sure he has fun, he needs it even more than I do," he said.

His life hadn't been easy but at he'd been able to manage. He didn't think it fair that another kid had been forced to share the same fate. He had come to terms with most of the things that had happened to him. It still left him with scars, left him with memories. Things that would never go away.

"Apparently he faced Voldemort, I wish I had done it instead. Unfortunately I had the other prophecy to deal with. Dark Lords seem to be a big problem in Europe. The one in Spain was a sadistic bastard, I'm glad I killed him," he said.

He ran his hands over both wrists. They were protected by a pair of long and thin silver bands. Both were mirror duplicates. The band started halfway below his elbow and came down just pass his wrist with the back part extending to a point, ending at his middle finger. He wore them almost constantly. He kept his wrists protected at all times. It was a lesson learned, one of many when faced with the dark menace's tyranny.

"I'm going to try and be a good big brother. I had some good examples so I think I can do it," he said.

The rain begin to calm and turned into a mild drizzle. The wind departed as well. He shifted on his feet and flashed a grin at the headstones nearest to him.

"And I have Candy to help me, I'm not completely alone," he said.

He smiled briefly as he imagined her expression if she ever heard him using that nickname. Candy was an improper name and Cassandra was nothing if not formal.

"I might not get to spend Christmas here next year, I might spend it with him if he wants. I won't be able to visit for a while I don't know when I will be visiting again, but I'll make sure to pop in when I can," he said.

There was a sharp gust of wind as the rain picked up again. It fell in a heavy drove and drenched everything in its path. Vega stood underneath the down pour calmly. He enjoyed feeling the water splash across his face then run down his clothes. In a few minutes he was completely soaked from the inside out. He didn't mind. He would choose to sit on his constant wood perch and watch as the clouds eventually parted, to reveal a perfect starry night.
