SQUEEEEEE! Final chapter! Thanks for supporting all the way!
Disclaimer: I do not own Harry Potter.
Fred Weasley was beyond annoyed. His two so-called best mates just had an adventure without him. And he really can't pull any pranks without anyone paying him attention. Their uncles and aunts were too busy to even pay attention to anyone else. Not that Fred II blames them, though.
And so they were all in the Potter Manor, a place which Harry discovered when he turned seventeen. This was the place where all Potters (except him) grew up. It was where he found his father's photos, and even his paternal grandparents, and the original Marauders, all when they were younger. As they wait for news, they gathered in the grand room, with all of the Weasley- Potter Clan, as well as the Malfoys. Arthur and Molly Weasley were already resting in the room, as convinced by the younger generation.
And a crash interrupted the silence.
"James, get off my stomach—"
"Ahhhh! That's my hair!"
"Can everyone move now, please?"
"Heeey! Watch out! That's my leg!"
One by one, the time travelers disentangled from each other. They stood in file, scanning their surroundings. Their families were staring back at them, taking in their very appearance. The children's clothes were ripped and torn; they had burnt marks, wounds, and dust and dirt smudged on their faces. Other than that, at least, they were complete and whole and alive, aside from Hugo who had this piece of cloth bandaged quite in a rush on his leg, and he was only leaning against Albus for support. The staring lasted for one whole minute. Until Ginny ran to hug her children, squeezing them to death, while the rest of the families did the same.
Hermione escorted Hugo to sit down, summoning her healing kit with a flick of her wand, while Ron secured their daughter's condition.
Ginny tended to her children's wounds, letting them tell their story. 'Recovery only comes after acceptance.'
Dominique and Victoire hugged Louis tightly, and afterwards Victoire threw her arms around her husband.
"You saw them, didn't you?" she asked softly, tracing his face gently with her thumb. He nodded, smiling sadly.
Astoria and Draco hugged their children tightly, but they returned the hug only by half. Astoria's throat tightened, her muscles tensing. "Please, let me—"
"No need, mum." The twins {not really} chorused. "We already know. We already knew."
"Since when?" Draco asked warily. Scorpius told them about their little expedition when they were nine, as Astoria cried and hugged them both. "Why didn't you tell us?"
"We were waiting for explanations." Hailey answered plainly, her eyes focused faraway.
Astoria pulled away from the hug and faced Hailey, who instantly looked back at her.
"We're very—"
"Mum, its okay. Well, no—not really, but I think it's going to be anyway. Can I go rest now? My head aches."
Astoria nodded, releasing her from the grip. Draco smiled a little as he brushed the hair away from his daughter's face. "You must bid farewell to your friends first."
Hailey and Scorpius nodded.
"Don't you want to stay here for a little while? There's enough room for everyone in this house." Al invited. Scorpius shook his head and patted his friend's shoulder. "We need to go home, Al. Maybe next time though."
Al nodded understandingly, giving Scorpius a fist bump. Meanwhile, Hailey walked over to her Uncle Harry, blowing her hair out of her face. She was clearly not at the mood. "We're going home, Uncle Harry. Thank you for letting us stay." She said, attempting a smile.
Harry nodded. "But don't you want to spend the night here? It might be dangerous outside."
It was the first time the rest of the kids looked at the night sky in this time, and there were neither moon nor stars. Hailey looked back at her uncle Harry and Aunt Ginny. "We'll be fine, sir. Bye, Aunt Ginny."
"Bye, honey. Take care."
Not a few paces away, just near the veranda, James was telling Fred their adventures and stories, when James caught Hailey's eye in the crowd and she started walking towards them.
"Hey, Prongs, Padfoot." She greeted without emotion. Fred's eyebrows turned up into question, but James shook his head a little, silencing Fred.
"By the way, if you want to know the full story and what really happened? Ask me, not Prongs. He'll probably make himself some kind of a hero or something." She smiled wryly.
"Hey!" James protested. Hailey chuckled, kissing his cheek. "But it's true."
James froze by the gesture, and Fred blinked, but Hailey didn't seem to mind.
"Anyway, I was just going to say goodbye. We're going home." She said, and without further ado, she turned around to leave, when James suddenly called her again. "Oi! Widewings!"
Hailey turned sullenly. "What?"
James smiled crookedly, his hair falling over a part of his face, and his arms spread wide. "Need a hug?"
He was only teasing, of course. Hailey Malfoy would never appreciate a hug, and in that case, James Potter's hugs, but to his surprise, and anyone's actually, Hailey did dive into his arms, throwing hers around his neck. He returned the hug lightly, holding his breath for fear that she might actually hear his heart racing. He was even more surprised when he felt something hot and wet fell on his back. Was Hailey Malfoy crying?
Meanwhile, Fred did not dare interrupt the exchange, but he did want to burst out laughing between wolf whistles. But, he figured, the condition must be really serious.
Hailey mumbled an apology, pulling back. She quickly wiped trails of tears away, and then also hugged Fred, but more lighter, to make things not that awkward.
"We have to go." She said with her voice constricted. James and Fred nodded, letting her return to her family.
Scorpius shook Rose's hand, but must have lingered holding hers longer than necessary, because Ron just started to glare in his general direction. He wondered if fathers have this detector attached to their daughters that beep when a boy touches them.
"Christmas?"
"Christmas." Rose confirmed, letting go of his hand.
"I'll see you at the platform, then?"
Rose nodded. She wanted to hug him, but her father might demand for explanations, and she's not really in the mood for those.
The Malfoy family apparated away, leaving the rest in the manor. After a moment of consoling whispers and deafening silence, Harry stood.
"Well, you might want to take a rest. Take any room in the house; there are lots in the third floor. But not the third room in the east wing, because that's where Mum and Dad sleeps. They spent the night tiredly waiting for you."
All of them nodded, going over to their rooms.
What nearly tore Lily's mind in half, though, is not the fact that they traveled back into the past. Not that they battled a scorpion and a dragon. Not that she found out her friend is some weird Time Wandering whatever. It's that, when she looked at the calendar, the date says July 28th.
"YOU INTEREFERED! AGAIN!" Fate screeched, glaring at Father Time. Father Time, meanwhile, sat calmly in his seat.
"I believe that this is my domain, Fate. So it is in my decision whatever I have to do." He replied, his blue eyes shifting.
Fate growled. She was ready to throw back reasons. She was ready to retort, and was ready to spit fire. But, she thought. That's it.
Domain. Decisions.
Why does she need Father Time to mess up her favorite people's lives? She's Fate herself.
You better get ready, Potters and Weasleys. I'm about to unleash my most powerful child of all.
Weelll? Is it alright?
I'm up for another work called "Aviating Destiny". It would be somehow the sequel to this, but it won't be about time traveling anymore. It would be about… well, I'll upload some sort of a teaser after this chapter.
Thank you!
