Chapter 5- Why Not Tell? Goodbye.

"So what's up Ace-bro?" Franky said trying to defuse the situation and sooth the elder D
"Can I ask y'all something?" said man asked with a pleasant smile that had a venomous undertone, which caused the strawhats except Luffy to tense.
"W-What is it?" asked the fearful Chopper
"Why?" Ace asked as if it was obvious
"Wh-why wh-" Usopp interrupted off by Zoro
"You're right" he stated simply
"Then why?" he asked again "Didn't Lu tell you I didn't want to be found?" Zoro then looked to Nami as if to tell her this was her fault for pushing the issue.
"Ye-yes" Nami sputtered out under Ace's hard graze
"Ace-san" Brook spoke breaking the eerie and dead silence
"Yes" Ace said in the coldest tone he could muster
"It must have been horrible for you to be considered a monster for your blood line and not what you have done." Brook finished rubbing his arm…. Bone.
Ace began to speak. "Yes that's why I use my mom's name," he stopped then looked back at them, same unreadable expression. Then he looked at Luffy, and his eyes softened at Luffy's unusually nervous expression.
"I'll trust you since you are on Luffy's crew." Luffy's expression turned relieved, so ace reached over and ruffled his hair to assure him he wasn't mad anymore. "Please don't tell anyone. 'K'" he said more upbeat than before
"Okay" was the unison reply
"So who knows" Sanji said smoking the ever-ciggy
"Well" Ace began "the bandits that raised us, Garp, Pops, Luffy, and now you guys." He finished
"Ace why didn't you tell us?" Nami asked
"Because" (mumbles incoherently)
"What did you say?" asked thoroughly amused by the situation
"I said, I was afraid you would hate me." Ace said averting eye contact
"Bull" Franky muttered "Why would we hate you because of their parents" he finished looking rather offended
"You'd be surprised" Ace mumbled
"Well you're always welcome here." Usopp said grinning like a Cheshire cat
"YAH!" Chopper and Luffy said as they jumped Ace hugging him.
"Thanks" Ace replied hugging them both back
Buddabup buddabup –
Ace's den-den mushie rang so he answered it.
"Hello" "Hey, Ace we need you back here yoi" "Can't you just call to say hey"(Om~ evil face) "Hey" -.-* "Alright didn't mean to ruffle your feathers":\ "Really a bird jo-" -,-* "Who was that" Zoro asked "The first mate and commander" ace replied grinning for messing with Marco Zoro mumbled under his breath something like 'no respect for the first mate' "Well I guess I gotta go" Ace said getting up pushing Luffy and Chopper off of him.
"Aww do you have to go" Luffy whined
"Do you" Chopper repeated
"Yes, don't worry I'll visit again soon" With that Ace jumped over the railing on to his skiff and sailed away, leaving the straw hats knowing that even if someone seems Black and white they aren't.
