Well apparently when I decided to update another fanfic yesterday for the first time in over a year I got a review say my creative writing was getting worse and worse. While I appreciate criticism it also made me realize I have not been practicing creative writing so my skills are slipping and while I do not want to ruin this but I want to keep writing. So please, be easy on me but at the same time be truthful and let me know what needs to be changed. Also, Who is freaking excited for the VA movie to come out?!
Holly shit. I can't believe he just did that. Talk about mixed signals much? First he is all brotherly, then he acts like- well I still haven't figured out what was going on with him at Oksana and Mark's house, then he ignores me and acts like he wants nothing to do with me and finally he rushes in and saves my ass? It took everything I had not to interrupt them as they decided my fate, but I had already screwed up big and I for once wasn't ready to leave a new place by the time they kicked me out.
"I will train her twice a week Ms. Kirova" How he could sound so respectful and authoritative at the same time was beyond me.
"Ha! four times a week. I not only need to know she is learning respect I always need to know she is staying out of trouble. One more toe out of line and I am done. I told your mother I would take her on only if she behaved. This school was a last resort, her record is long and unfortunately all true."
A smirk twitched on my lips. Sure it was bad, I mean I legally have to attend school and yet my record was so bad that no school in the area would accept me, but at the same time I was kind of proud. I had a real reputation it seemed.
Dimitri shook his head in agreement and with that we were dismissed. I was off scott free! No detention or anything… well except that class thingys that Dimitri taught, but let's get real here. He wouldn't want to spend that much time with me, so it was like I had no punishment at all.
"Thanks comrade," I finally said after we made it out of the reception area outside Kirova's office. I really didn't know what else to say. Thank goodness I was saved by Lisa rushing down the hall at us, which stopped Dimitri's chance to give me some zen life lesson or crap.
"OMG Rose! I heard you were getting expelled. What happened?" She was the picture of innocence today in her cream sweater jeans and riding boots topped of with a light pink scarf and hair back in a classy ponytail.
"I'm fine, still here. Don't worry I could never leave you alone here with all these idiots." It was a usual Rose Hathaway comment that was flippant and borderline rude all at once, but it brought a smile to Lisa's face. The girls wasn't kidding, she really was a friend. It had been almost three weeks and we were only growing closer. Some people though Lisa was all up tight and I had even heard people say that she acts like she is some perfect princess, but I think thats why we got along so great. She made me think twice on how I act, even if in the end I still ended up doing just what I originally planned, and I forced her to live a little.
"Yeah Liss, I'm good. It's all taken care of." I flashed her a typical carefree smile. She narrowed her eyes at me for a second as if she didn't know if she should believe me or not. She let it drop though. Suddenly she seemed to notice Dimitri who had been standing there watching the interaction with curiosity, or what I assumed was curiosity. Who could tell with how blank he could keep his face.
"Who is this?" She asked politely.
"Oh-" I still didn't know how to introduce him to people, I mean what exactly was he to me? "This is Dimitri, my- uh, my-" Well crap, what is he?
"I'm her brother," he said saving my ass. I felt a pang of something in my chest. Right, brother. Foster family, but close enough to a brother. He was just acting like any big brother would, protective and he was angry with me just like siblings would do, they fight. I crushed whatever the tug was in my chest and went to my usual defense, sarcasm.
"Yeah my russian brother from another mother." A smug grin rested on my face. "Now head on home I won't need a ride home today, Lisa and our going out tonight." His face if possible grew even more serious.
"Rosmarie, I must insist that you come home after school today so that we can discuss your probations in more detail." I don't care how firm he said it, I still wasn't ready to talk to him.
"Nah, maybe later. Tonight I'm going out to celebrate." Before he could argue I grabbed Lisa's hand and was practically dragging her down the hall. I heard him muttering in Russian and assumed he was cursing again but I ignored it.
"You know school doesn't let out for another twenty minutes right?" Lisa informed me as finally caught her footing and matched my pace. "Besides, what are we celebrating?"
I laughed and pronounced with joy, "The fact that I finally finished unpacking and found my fake ID."
Well I hope It is good, I really tried to keep the same voice and keep it interesting. Yeah I know it sucks that there hasn't been any really cute moments yet, but I am hoping to update again soon and start really setting up some cute moments. Your reviews help keep me motivated though so please, UPDATE. Happy holidays everyone, and thank you again.
