A/N Don't hate me. I'm in Organic, Physics, Labs to both, and 3 Honors courses. This is my break and I am dedicating it to this. There will be an update every day.

Previously: "Do we have a deal?" He reached out his hand to her. "Deal."

Paige awoke from her surgery groggy and barely coherent. Blinking her eyes, she saw her parents around her, one reading a book and the other pacing.

"When…when did you guys get here?" Her barely hearable words caused an instant reaction from her parents.

"What were you thinking riding a horse at eleven o clock at night. You're lucky you didn't get killed." Her head hurt so bad that even if she did hear him she probably wouldn't have comprehended anything. Every time she blinked, she felt a pain radiating in the back of her head. She held one blink a little longer than the others and she thought she saw an image reflecting off the back of her eye lids. She jerked up in pain. Her mother grabbed the nurse's button but Paige was already spiraling. She closed her eyes longer and a flood of images flew through her mind. Like a broken puzzle, pieces starting melding back together and the web of connections that had been broken reformed. The nurses came through the door armed with a sedative but Paige fought it. Her life was flashing before her eyes and this nurse was coming between her only hope of being herself again. The pain outweighed her will to fight and the nurse was able to shoot a vial of toridol into her system. The pain was still there but she could feel the heat of the medicine tracing its way through her system. She relaxed back into her bed and now the only pain she could feel was from her recently fixed arm.

"Paige, what is going on?" Her mother's voice was gentle but concerned. Paige didn't want to respond because the images still were racing. Then came another flood of stimulus. She started feeling emotions towards different images. It was like her brain was trying to tag these images with certain feelings in order to store them. Then, the screen went black. There were no more pictures, or feelings just her eye lids in the bright lights of the hospitals. Paige instantly went into her introvert mode and took account of herself. Where was she, why was she there, who was with her? Everything still hurt but she fought to at least get to the last thing she remembered. Her arm winced and she remembered the man. From there, her brain laced those connections which all led to the one thing that tied her brain together, Emily. As soon as she thought her name, the feelings came through, feelings she forgot she had, memories she forgot she had. It was all there again. The first time she kissed her in the car, sneaking out for secret picnics, finally being able to hold her hand in public. A tear trickled down her face as she opened her eyes. Her mom was holding her hand still waiting for an answer. She finally remembered all the times her mom stood up for her to her dad when she came out. She remembered the shopping trips for the clothes that she liked that her dad would never let her wear. All the love her mom showed for her in the past years finally reconnected in her mind and the only emotional response she could have were tears.

"Everything is fine mom. I shouldn't have been riding so late. I was just trying to get a little freedom and I went too far." Her mom glared at her father and they shared a silent conversation. Paige couldn't tell them she was back. She remembered what happened the night before in the O.R. and if that person was the A she remembered Emily telling her about, then he could threaten her family too. She knew it was better for her to play dumb then get everyone she loved killed. Not everything was completely clear in her head yet but she was piecing together memories of the bad things that happened because of this person. She was still living miles away from Emily and as long as she didn't try anything her, Emily, and her family were all safe.

"Your father and I have come to a decision." Paige hadn't even heard her because she was still trying to come to grips with being herself again and having this responsibility to protect everyone.

"We are moving back to Rosewood in the next few weeks." Her world stopped. She sat up farther in the bed ignoring the pain in her shoulder, removing her hand from her mothers.

"We can't go back to Rosewood."

"It's already done. We have been thinking about it for the last week anyways. Your father is out of vacation time and we all miss our friends. It will be good for you to go back too. Maybe some of your old gang will help you remember some more."

"My old gang? Mom I didn't even have friends. I just swam and went to class. Unless you consider my kick board a friend, I have no one there." Her father stepped into the conversation aggressively.

"This isn't a point of argument. You are obviously going to be reckless regardless of where we live and I have clients who are suffering over our little vacation. We are checking you out of this hospital, and going back to the cabin to pack. I have men coming to pick up anything of importance and we will be back to Rosewood by the end of next week. This is not a discussion." He signaled for her mother to get up and they both began walking towards the door.

"Get changed and we will back to pick you up." Her father exited first but her mother lingered behind.

"Did you know Emily Fields was her last night too? And all of her friends. Her mother and I crossed paths this morning when they were leaving. Poor thing was attacked by some crazed man on that Halloween party train they have every year. You are lucky you weren't there last night."

"You're right mom, I am lucky that all I did was fall off of a horse." Her mom obliviously nodded and walked out the door. Paige wanted to throw something. She laughed to herself because even if she tried she couldn't even make this shit up. Her amesiaed brain made her question everything. She finally got to a good place with her former pre-amnesia girlfriend. And now her pre-amnesia girlfriend's stalker is threatening her life if she doesn't stay away. That would be easy 300 miles away but no her parents had to pick now to go back to the one place she can't avoid anybody let alone Emily. Paige didn't know what emotion she was fighting more, laughter or crying.

"Why do I even leave my house?" She started talking to herself as she began to get dress.

"I could have always just stayed in last night. Maybe next time I decide to have a brilliant idea I should just let it die and read a book." She slipped her good arm through her shirt and let it hand over her bad shoulder.

"That would be the best solution. Hey, I have an idea for curing cancer…nah I'll just read harry Potter instead. With my luck, my cure would turn into I am Legend and somehow there would still be someone there ruining my life." She grabbed her pants with one arm and tried to slip them on but looked more like a beached whale on her bed.

"Or when anyone says the name Emily Fields…" She got one leg through "…I should run until like some damn dogs are chasing me…that would solve my problems." She was out of breath but her clothes were on. She sat huffing and a sad realization came over her. Her and Emily were obviously not meant to be. If the universe was trying this hard to keep them a part then maybe they should just stay that way. Her body betrayed her mind though because the emotion of love flooded over her. It felt like being held on rainy day. An idea popped into her head and she knew exactly what she was going to have to do.

"I really should just read a book." She mumbled to herself and the plan developed in her head.

Rosewood PA

"You are grounded from everything. If you aren't at school or swim practice you are to be home. No going to Hanna's or Spencer's. They can come here but only if I am around."

"Yes ma'am." Emily didn't want to argue with her mom. This was probably the best plan for her. Last night had been the closest she had ever been to dying and she didn't want to experience that again anytime soon.

"Your dad is coming home too. He put in for a temporary leave and given the circumstances of the past few months they granted it." This was something Emily was both excited and fearful for. Her father wanted nothing but to protect her but that could mean harsher rules then her mother. If he had it his way she would be sent back to Texas with him and she would go to a Catholic girls school.

"When does he get in?"

"Friday."

"Great…I'm going to take a shower and go to bed." Emily started towards the stairs before her mom called to her.

"Emmy is there anything you want to talk about right now. Maybe Paige or what happened. I know you're upset we left before she got out of surgery but I wanted to get you home." Emily was angry but she was also relieved to get out of that space. She felt close to death when she was in a hospital and it didn't sit well with her. She also was unsure of her interaction with Paige. It felt comfortable but it also felt like a lie. She couldn't help but thinking she was betraying her Paige by getting to know this new one. They were obviously the same person but to her they felt different. Her laugh was the same, her touch was the same, even her kiss was the same but it all felt like she was reaching for something that wasn't quite there. It was like the first time they kissed, awkward and unknowing. Emily knew she would take what she could get because deep in her heart she knew Paige was going to come back.

"Maybe later we can talk but I just need a bit of time." Her mom let her go and she made her way to the bathroom. She turned on the water and tentatively removed her shirt. She turned to put it on the counter and her reflection in the mirror startled her. She could see the bruising on her throat and the marks on her upper chest from crashing into the floor. That wasn't the only think she saw though. Her eyes were sunken and there didn't seem to be any life in them. She turned away from her reflection hoping that ignoring it would make it all go away. She removed the rest of her clothing and stepped into the beam of water hoping to wash away all her worries and pain. She didn't even bother washing her hair or her body. She just let the water pound against her body. She increased the heat. The burn that she felt invigorated her body making her feel alive. She needed that verification. After the heat left, and the cold water began to fall, she removed herself from the water and went to her room praying that the dream world she was about to enter would be better than the reality she lived in.
