A/N: So, I don't own transformers. I went and made a few minor changes to the last chapter. I don't think you'd notice really though, unless you had super memory. Or maybe I just have bad memory… This chapter ended up like a couple of small linear drabbles, not sure whether that's a good or bad thing yet. Hope you enjoy it.

Jolt wandered the base, memorizing its layout, adding personal notes and reminders to his maps, and getting used to the humans. Coming around a building he stopped in surprise. He rebooted his optics and used a light scan to confirm what he saw. After a few moments of staring he received a com request. Answering it Optimus Prime's voice came across the line.

:: Was there something you needed Jolt? ::

:: I, no sir… You are aware there is a human sleeping on the top of your alt mode, correct? ::

:: Yes, we had been talking earlier but, as you stated, he fell asleep. ::

:: Sir, he's on your roof. :: Optimus gave a soft chuckle.

:: I am aware of this. For whatever reason, when we are in our alternate modes he prefers to sit on top of them during our conversations. ::

:: And you let him? Wait, we? ::

:: Ratchet, Bumblebee, Ironhide, and myself. Why would we not? He finds it comfortable, Ratchet says the sun is good for him, and none of us mind. :: Jolt realized that this was the human Optimus had made a point to briefly introduce them to the previous Earth rotation, er, day. He repressed the initial surge of anger as he reminded himself that the Allspark would have been destroyed either way. At least this way Optimus survived and Megatron was finally dead.

:: I do not know sir; I merely did not expect it. :: Jolt ended the connection and, giving a respectful nod in departure, walked off to continue his exploration of the base. What was it about that human? The Autobots as a rule protected sentient life, but the first arrivals seemed to actually, genuinely care about this human. Oh, there were others like Robert Epps and Ironhide's charge William Lennox that they cared about. But it didn't feel like it was on the same level as this human. Even Ratchet had taken a strong liking to this human! And he was… well, Ratchet. The real kicker was Sideswipe though. Having barely met the human he had already decided to reveal relatively sensitive information about himself. Though it wouldn't surprise him if Sideswipe knew something he didn't. Sideswipe always knew something he didn't. And the only way he would know would be to figure it out himself. Oh well, he'd figure it out later. He still had to finish personalizing his maps.

Arcee came into what was functioning as the Med bay to find Ratchet working on repairing Jazz. He spared her a glance and distractedly told her.

"If you need something I'll be over in a minute, if not, get out."

"Just a piece of equipment I was wondering if you would take a look at. I'll leave it on the birth over here." She quietly did so and turned to leave. She was in the doorway when she heard Ratchet ask,

"Have you fixed the wires yet?" Arcee stood in the doorway, unsure for a few moments before she replied with.

"What wires?" Ratchet stilled.

"I didn't realize you were still in here. I was speaking to Samuel."

"Yah, they're done." Sam replied, climbing out of Jazz's inner workings. Alarmed, Arcee wheeled back in the medbay.

"What are you doing letting a human work on Jazz!?" Ratchet turned to her,

"I have been teaching him Cybertronian medicine since shortly after our arrival here. He has proven himself capable and his small size helps him do repairs we would need to perform surgery to accomplish."

"But he's human!" she exclaimed, gesturing to Sam. Frowning, Ratchet took a slightly defensive stance, crossing his arms and shifting so that he was in front of the boy.

"I have been teaching him our form of medicine and requested his help in repairing Jazz." Arcee's optics narrowed slightly.

"Does Optimus know?"

"Of course he does. He completely supports it too." The tension seemed to drain from all three of Arcee's bodies. Two of them curiously moved to look around each side of Ratchet while the last kept his gaze.

"Interesting." She murmured, before leaving for real.

The frame twins Mudflap and Skids were, as usual, arguing simply for the sake of arguing. In their defense though, they were doing it in one of the Autobot hangers, keeping away the humans to make sure they didn't accidentally damage them. They both stopped when Skids just about threw Mudflap onto a human anyway. He didn't look damaged at all so they decided it was ok to yell at him.

"Yo! Wat you doin' in dis hanga?"

"Yeah, dis an Autobot hanga!"

"I came in here to get my book bag." The human said, pointing at the human furnished platform they'd noticed but disregarded as unimportant.

"Wat you got yo book bag an' junk in here fo'?"

"Yeah, keep yo human stuff on da human side a base!"

"I don't have a room on the 'human side' of base in which to keep my stuff. Besides, all the first arrivals have stated they prefer being able to keep an eye on me and encourage me to keep the platform." It was at this point the two of them realized they were talking to the human Optimus Prime specifically introduced them to and that they had been asked to respect. Floundering a moment at what to do they pretty much just stood there and watched as he grabbed his book bag and ran back out of the hanger. Skids turned to Mudflap and punched him.

"Look what ya did stupid."

"Stupid?! You da stupid one!"

"Yo momma was da stupid one!"

"Dat proves ya stupid, 'cause we twins, we share tha same momma." And with that they were back to their usual fighting.

Sideswipe glided along the short row of Cybertronian sized cabinets. Apparently the humans didn't know about subspace, or at least didn't when the cabinets were given to them. But it was still a nice thought. Opening one at random he was startled to find Sam. He was sitting cross-legged with his sketchbook in his lap, a pencil in his hand, and a flashlight in his mouth. His wide eyed look of surprised horror was rather comical. Sam was only frozen for an instant before he simultaneously dropped the flashlight from his mouth, clapped his hands together, and yelled out,

"Please don't tell Ratchet." Flinching at how close Sam had seemingly come to stabbing his own hand with the pencil Sideswipe carefully took it from him. Marveling at the delicacy it must have taken to pick up the tiny pencil from his fragile human hands it took a moment for his brain to realize that Sideswipe had just stolen his pencil. "Hey! I need that!"

"Don't try and stab yourself with it and I won't have to take it from you." Sideswipe took a moment to appreciate the distance from the ground to the cabinet. The bottom of the cabinet was almost four times Sam's height plus there was the fact of opening and closing the door. "How did you get in there?" Sam crossed his arms.

"I am a hide and go seek professional." Sideswipe raised an optic ridge.

"You mean a hide from Ratchet's checkups professional."

"How did you know I have checkup?!" Sideswipe took a moment to look playfully thoughtful

"Call it a hunch." He said, grinning.

"A hunch. You guys never have 'hunches'. I bet Ratchet commed you."

"On the contrary, there was someone very close to my brother and I when we were little that taught us to rely on hunches and feelings, sometimes over logic." Sam let his arms drop back into his lap.

"Oh, well, whoever they are, they're pretty smart."

"How did you get up there!?" The color drained from Sam's face as he noticed Ratchet in the doorway of the hanger. Sideswipe stepped to the side so he wasn't in between Ratchet and his prey. Sam hastily closed the sketchbook, shoving it in his book bag and running. Unfortunately the cabinet wasn't all that deep and Ratchet was easily able to reach inside and grab him. Neither the miserable Sam, nor the triumphant Ratchet noticed Sideswipe's light chuckle as they left for the medbay. But Arcee, who had been helping Ratchet look for the boy for the past several hours, did. And that put the human in a whole new light. Sam wouldn't know it, but a few halfhearted smiles had become a rare treat since Sunstreaker had gone missing. It always seemed wrong for the once lighthearted prankster to be so glum, silent, and serious. Seeing Sideswipe smile, even lightly, brought a wide grin to Arcee's own faces before she wheeled away. Interesting indeed.

A/N: That felt kinda short. And still took forever to update. I wanted to put a little thing for everyone but it kept turning out even more awkward than it is now. So I decided to just do the new arrivals. I'm debating whether or not to do a few more spring break things. I probably won't though, I'm pretty impatient about getting where I want the plot to be and the only reason we're not already there is because I'm a slow updater and want the story to end up decent.
