Kid's P.O.V.

I have to say, for the very first time since I came to this school, I couldn't wait to get out of Tom-sama's class. He was the engineering/woodshop teacher here at Sabaody, and that was my favorite, and last, class, but we were having a party at our place tonight, and I couldn't wait to get started. So of course I was out the door and on my way as soon as the bell rung. Law, Drake, Hawkins, and I would get everything started while Luffy went to pick up little Chopper from Calm Belt Elementary.

Little did we know how much our lives would change that night.

A few hours later, and we were partying it up. Usopp, Chopper, and yours truly were all gaming it up while others dance to loud music. What seemed like only minutes later, we were all gathered around Luffy and Bonnie as they commenced an eating contest that should've gone done in history. Then we were laughing at Usopp as he yelled about some adventure he'd been on that never really happened.

That's when it happened.

The ground shook and red light shone through the glass wall. Everyone froze and turned to watch as a pillar of angry flame rose into the air in the distance. It came from right where Red Line Middle was.

"Catch up with us!" Luffy and I yelled simultaneously as we leapt off the roof. I flicked my wrist and a metal deck chair flew underneath me and Luffy shot an arm out to grab a leg.

Together, we went towards the light.

We touched down and stared at a sight that had to have come out of a nightmare. The cluster of buildings that had been carved out of a mountain, A MOUNTAIN, that the five of us had spent three years of our lives in, was reduced to a mound of burning rubble. The mountain was now a volcano was lava and fire burst from its sides. At the top, starring down like a pair of overlords, were two silhouettes. One of them stood tall and strong like some kind of giant with his arms crossed in front of him, and the other squatted down with a hand on the wide brimmed hat he wore on his head.

"He said you would be the first to arrive," thundered one of the figures, most likely the giant. "It's a good thing, too. I'd rather not tangle with the Big Three just yet."

"Can we move on?" whined the other. "I wanna kill them already and be done with it!"

"Kill us?" I scoffed back at them, barely containing my rage. "Ya right! The two of us are the powerhouses of the Mega-Novas! Now we're bringing you two down!"

Luffy, however, froze at the sound of the squatter's words. "That voice," he muttered. "It's… familiar."

"We're only here to assess them," replied the giant to his companion, ignoring my outburst. "Though, I see no reason why we shouldn't just crush them now. Be quick about it."

"Finally, some REAL action!" With that, the squatter launched forward so fast we barely had time to move before the place we had been standing in burst into flames. That's when I got my first good look at him. He was shirtless, exposing his toned muscles and he wore black-knee length shorts with black boots. On his head was an orange cowboy hat with smiley faces on it.

Luffy gasped in shock. "Ace!" he exclaimed. We didn't have time to dwell on this realization as Ace sent arcs of flame towards us, forcing us to move. With a flick, I sent a nearby crow bar flying towards his chest. However, once it touched skin, the flesh turned to flame and the weapon passed harmlessly though it.

"Luffy, he's a logia type!" I yelled. Thankfully, he got the message and vanished into the rubble.

"Got that right," said Ace as he moved towards me. I pulled my hand backwards and a sheet of metal shot out to shield me from the gout of fire he flung at me. It took all my will not to cry out as the metal burned my hand, heated by the continuous pressure of his flame. "Look's like your friend abandoned you to die!" he yelled at me.

"He's not my friend!" I shouted in reply. "He's my-"

"BROTHER!" finished Luffy as he launched himself from the rubble with something in his hands. Ace barely had time to turn his head before that something slammed into him and sent him flying into a pile of debris.

Gasping, I staggered to my feet. "Thanks Luffy," I said gratefully as he moved towards me. He lifted the small black baseball bat he held in his hand by the leather wrapped grip. "A Sea Prism Stone bat, standard in every classroom on the island," I said with a chuckle. That's where I'd sent Luffy. Shakeing my head, I realized that we weren't out of the woods just yet, and we needed to move quickly. I pulled a metal bar towards me and wrapped it around the bat's handle. I had just finished when the rubble exploded.

"You're dead!" yelled Ace furiously.

"Not likely!" I replied. With that, I flung that bat, using my powers to lock onto the bar I'd attached to it to propel it. If flew over, knocking his legs out from under him, shot into the air before coming back down onto his back. I continued to place pressure onto it, pinning the man down and shoving him further and further into the ground.

I was just about to celebrate my victory when I heard Luffy start yelling. "GEAR SECOND!" Something slammed into me, shoving me out of the way just as the spot I'd been standing in less than a second before exploded in a sudden burst of lava.

I watched as the giant stood from the magma. He wore a red suit and a white baseball cap over short hair. With a snap of his fingers, the bar in the bat melted and Ace rolled out from under it. "You've taken too long. I'll handle things from here." He said.

"Yes, Sakazuki," said Ace unhappily as he moved backwards.

"Kid," said Luffy as he watched Sakazuki. "You need to stay back, too. I saw this guy move, and he's definitely fast. Plus, I don't think that he's going all out. I can only keep up with him in Gear Second, which you don't have. I'll have to take him down." As much as I hated to do it, I nodded.

"You don't have to worry about taking him down, because I don't think we're strong enough for that," I told him. "You only have to hold him long enough for help to get here."

Luffy nodded before he vanished, moving faster than my eyes could follow, and I saw what he had meant. The giant was gone too. The only thing I could see were flashes as they slowed at fight. I felt like I was watching an episode of Dragon Ball Z. Suddenly, the mound Ace was sitting on exploded where the pair had engaged each other again. Something clattered to the ground at my feet. I looked down to see the Sea Stone bat just laying there. I bent down to pick it up.

"NO!" I heard Luffy scream. I looked up to see the hulking figure of Sakazuki above me, bringing his lava fist down towards me. I suddenly had a flashback to the scene Luffy and described in his dream. Déjà vu, huh?

I knew it was the end. As his fist descended towards me, all I could think was "Be safe, my brothers."

"GET THE HELL AWAY FROM MY BROTHER!" Luffy appeared in the air beside the giant, and clocked him in the face. The strangest thing was, Luffy's hand seemed to change, looking like it became metal just before it slammed into Sakazuki's face and sent him flying. He was back up in seconds though.

"How'd you do that, Luffy?" I asked him in wonder.

He frowned. "Do what?"

"What do you mean 'do what'? Hit him!"

He only shrugged.

"So," growled Sakazuki, "your latent powers are beginning to awaken already, huh? The power of the Pirate King is fearsome indeed. I can't allow you to leave now."

"What are you talking about?" asked Luffy in confusion. Instead of replying, the giant sent out a burst of lava, forcing us to move.

While we were distracted, Sakazuki moved. He suddenly loomed over Luffy, much as he had me only moments ago, and began moving his fist downward.

I reacted. The next thing he knew, the magma man was being knocked around be the bat I still had in my hands. I didn't pause for a moment, unleashing a rain of blows at everything I could hit. Finally, I placed all of my power in a single swing that sent him sailing through the air. Again, he was only down for a second, but I had managed to SERIOUSLY piss him off.

"Ace!" he yelled in rage as his entire arm burst into lava and continued to swell. His companion=ion grinned a jump behind us as his arm burst into flames. "BURN TO ASHES!" He yelled as they both released their attacks together.

The pair of us could only stare in horror and terror as the walls of heat slammed together around us, and everything went dark.

Sakazuki paused, all that anger he had bundled up released. He couldn't believe he had lost control like that. He couldn't make that mistake again.

"Yeah, we roasted them!" yelled Ace as he danced around.

"Shut up!" the giant growled at him. He paused before chuckling. "That's a rather impressive ability you have there," he called loudly, not talking to his companion. "I've only ever seen one other man move that fast in all my life. Bravo!"

He turned to face the trio that stood atop a rock overlooking the pair of logia-types. One was a boy with an X-shaped tattoo on his chest and a curved hat with a mask. In one hand he had a four bladed axe, with a rapier in the other. A passing glance told the magma man that they were made of Sea Prism Stone.

The next was a long haired boy with triangle shaped tattoos over his eyes. He was shuffling a deck of cards in his hands, though his eyes gazed down at them.

It was the third he was addressing, though. It was a boy with a goatee and a furry hat on his head. At his feet was a nodachi, also made of Sea Stone. Under each arm were the unconscious forms of Luffy and Kid.

Trafalgar Law smirked, his white teeth practically glowing in the light of the dancing flames.

"I have my moments."

I set down my brothers gently and picked up Kikoku from off the ground before regarding the pair below us. It take a rocket scientist to know that these guys were strong, especially given the condition of the two who were now knocked out. If only those idiots had waited, they wouldn't be looking like they did now. Fortunately, the rest of us weren't so reckless. We took the time to prepare before we set out. Granted, we ditched the others a long time ago, but still. To the point, I knew we couldn't take these guys in a straight fight.

Good thing we didn't have to.

"Let's just get straight to the point, shall we?" I called down to them. "I know that you're way too strong for us to take down, but I also know that guys strong enough to do that are on their way here now. In the time it takes you to kill us, they'll get here and whatever plans you two had will go up in smoke. So how about we make a bargain?"

"How about I just roast you?" yelled the shirtless man angrily.

The giant waved his hand to silence him. "Go on," he replied to the doctor.

"We let you leave here, and you leave us be for tonight. That way, everyone can just go on their merry way. Do we have a deal?"

The giant considered for a moment before nodding. "We're going, Ace. But before I leave, what was the name of that metal brat again?" he asked me.

"Who, Kid?" I asked in confusion.

He nodded. "Kid… When he awakens, tell him I look forward to facing him again. I will return to crush him on D. Day." With that, there was a sudden burst of fire, and when it dwindled down, the intruders were gone.

"D. Day? What's that?" I wondered allowed. My brothers only shook their heads, just as confused as I was.
