Bandits
Chapter 9
"It took a while for Merlin to break… but he did," Grant smirked.
"Why do you need to…" Lancelot paused, "Break him?"
The sorcerer lifted his chin in dominance, " why should I tell you, you are nothing but a rat clean sewage and trash. But then again why shouldn't I tell you. It's not like you can do anything about it." The sorcerer walked closer to the bars. "Well okay, tomorrow I plan to attack Camelot. And Merlin's magic well help me."
Lancelot chuckled and shook his head in disbelief. "You know even with Merlin' s magic, you would not be able to win against the Knights."
"Well I don't think so. You do not understand how powerful that boy is. He is the most powerful being ever to walk on the earth."
Lancelot took is shallow breath. He did not know about the power Merlin. He then took a glance at the man servant on the ground.
Merlin was covered in bruises, cuts, and blood. "Besides even if Merlin doesn't tell me the prince's weakness, I would still be be able to use is Magic."
After the sorcerer spat out his words, he turned to leave the two alone.
o.o.o.o.o
Arthur Pendragon was up early in the morning with peasant clothes and a sword on his belt. He was going to ride to the cave once more to find his manservant. He was going to find out for sure if Merlin really wanted him gone. He had his eyebrows furrowed and his eyes saddened. Before Uther woke up, Arthur knew he had to ride away. But before he could leave, he was stopped by the sound of his name.
"Arthur, " it was Sir Leon. Other knights walked his way; Sir Timothy, Sir Gravellon, and many others. "To you Merlin might be just be a manservant, but to us he is a friend. We are going to go after him," Leon stepped forward and smirked. "And King Uther gave us the authority to do so."
Arthur looked at his knight with amazement. "How…?"
"We said we were going to ambush the bandits."
Arthur let out a laugh. This was going to be his day.
o.o.o.o.o
Grant observed the glass jars filled with yellow light. It was beautiful, so pure and clean; no other sorcerer had the color nor the texture of Merlin's magic. I wonder if he'll survive… No of course he would. He's made of magic, it's not like he's going to run out.
Running feet became audible, then the door opened. "Sorcerer Grant! We are under attack!" It was a man with a frightened look on his face.
"What did I tell you about coming into this room? What did I tell ALL of you." Grant closed his eyes and rubbed for temples.
"Not to come in, but this is an emergency!"
Grant stood up from his chair, took a few bottles of magic and walked up to the man.
"Do you know why I don't know any of your names?" Grant placed a hand on the man's forehead, he muttered a few words and red flames consumed the bandit. "Because, none are worthy enough to be mentioned." He then walked out of the room.
Time to use this.
o.o.o.o.o
Merlin was sitting in the corner of the cell thinking. "Hey Lancelot."
"Yeah?"
There was a pause. "Never mind."
"You know you can tell me anything you want." He said.
There was soon a rush at the door, "Hey pretty boy," IT was another one of the bandits. "Come prove your loyalty and fight against the Camelot trash."
Merlin tensed up and Lancelot rose to his feet. He brushed the dust off his pants and walked to the cell. "I'll be back." There was no response so, Lancelot just walked out.
I think… I think I'm dying.
Merlin lowered his head and buried his face in his rough hands.
o.o.o.o.o
Grant unbottled one of the tiny jars in his hands. Golden mist flowed from it, and he inhaled it. His grey eyes glowed and his black hair lengthened. "So much power." He commented. Then when he saw red coming out of the trees, he lifted his chin and the soldiers flew backwards. Smiling, he continued to attack the Knights.
Arthur was behind a rock with Leon by his side, he looked for the black-haired fellow. Then, looking straight into the other's eyes he motioned for an attack.
"I don't think that's going to work." Said a voice suddenly.
Arthur and Leon turned around to see the magic user smirking. Then they flew back. "UGH!"
"You know, you did well to leave Merlin with me. He's… so powerful."
Arthur raised his brows. "Merlin? Powerful? Seriously stop with the jokes."
"Ic þe bebiede þæt þu abifest nu!"
The ground began to shake, and both the knights and the bandits lost their footing. Arthur and Grant kneeled to keep from falling, they then looked up to see where the voice came from.
"Merlin?!" Arthur called.
When the earthquake stopped, Merlin flew down and threw up his hands, sending Grant back. "I thought I took your eyes!" Grant yelled. "You should not have been able to have come here!"
"Well… I healed it."
"What are you talking about?" Arthur called. "Merlin! What is going on?" The prince rose to his feet and ran to the boy.
Merlin flinched when the prince came closer. flinched terribly. He backed away to talk to him, but Grant yelled a spell sending a tornado of flames coming their way.
"Acwence þa bælblyse!" Merlin yelled back, the flames reduced for a moment, then Grant pushed harder.
Arthur could only stare in awe, his friend was using magic. "H-how?" Both anger and sorrow filled his heart.
While the two were throwing spell after spell at each other, Arthur ran to his men. They were defeating the bandits. I'll talk to him after. He'll be in the stocks for a month.
"WHY?" Grant grunted. "Why do you do so much for a thing like him?"
Merlin clenched his teeth, he then furrowed his brow and yelled a powerful spell, well tried to… he was stopped by a horrible cough. He looked at his hands, there was blood.
"So, I guess you won't survive." Grant grinned. "I wonder why. You are made of magic…"
"MERLIN!" It was Lancelot. He then threw glass bottles towards the boy. Then turned to the bandits before jumping down and yelled, "Well I proved my loyalty!"
The battle continued, but Merlin was golden eyes and skin that glowed, he was winning. Grunts and yells were heard from left and right.
With one last spell, Grant was on the ground. Merlin then placed a hand on the man's forehead. Golden light came from his hand and when he raised it, the light flowed out of Grant's eyes and flowed into Merlin. "I believe you have caused enough trouble. Time to say your goodbyes.
"Merlin!" Leon yelled, he and the knights came his way, but Arthur was stayed behind - still butt-hurt about the fact that Merlin had magic.
The boy smiled when he was attacked by familiar knights. He opened his mouth to talk, but he only coughed up blood.
Arthur ran to him as soon as he saw the red. "Merlin!"
The manservant flinched at the sound of the prince's voice. But to his fortune, Lancelot placed a hand on Arthur to keep him from coming any closer.
But all went to a blur, and Merlin fell to the ground.
