The streets were quiet as Rouki walked through town. He figured it was because Fairy Tail warned citizens before hand what was going to happen.
'Probably told them they were doing something guild related.' He thought, 'With their destructive reputation everyone probably took their word for it and didn't ask any questions, and they won't notify authorities. It's not just their lives that are on the line here, their pride as a guild wouldn't allow it if they couldn't resolve a quarrel with a former member.'
Rouki continued on until he reached a flight of stairs and started to walk down them. 'Though I wonder, is Mirajane waiting for something to happen before she fights me? Why haven't I seen her yet?'
A slightly confused look appeared on Rouki's face at his thoughts. As he reached the last step on the stairs he suddenly heard a rustling sound from the bushes lining the stairs. From the bushes four shadowed individuals jumped into the air. Rouki did nothing as multiple lines of wire shot up from the ground to wrap around him and smoke suddenly filled his vision.
"We got him!" One voice said. The four shadowed forms fell to the ground outside the smoke cloud they had made with their smoke bombs. Said persons were all young women holding the wires that held Rouki in between their fingers. Each had a different weapon on their person.
One had a large scythe on her back and another had a spear with purple blades on each end. Another had a pair of unique looking tonfa at her hip and the last had claws hooked to her forearms. "We got him wrapped up, he moves an inch and those wires will start to really hurt. You're up Laki!"
"Got it!" Fairy Tail's Wood Make user quickly ran forward from the tree she was hiding behind and kneeled to place her hands on the ground. "Wood Make: Hidden Pleasures of the Painful Secret!"
"Hm?" Was the sound heard from Rouki as two body shaped wooden structures grew up in front and behind him. As soon as they formed from the ground they quickly moved towards each other and closed around Rouki. The wooden prison locked itself by quickly flipping it's wooden claps shut. When it was done the Fairy Tail mages released their hold of their wires knowing that Laki's prison had closed on them keeping them tight on Rouki.
"Good job girls! All went according to plan!" Laki said excitedly. Though the others looked at her with questioning looks.
"Why did your magic's name have to be so weird?" One asked.
"It's not weird, it's just unique it's how I talk that's all!" Laki protested.
"Is that unique too?" Another asked pointing at the wooden prison. The reason for her question was the fact that the outside of the wood was made to look like an iron maiden with a rather pleased look on it's face. "Or is that something you just want people to know about you?"
"OH SHUT UP! Anyway I'm contacting Erza." Laki said before closing her eyes and concentrating. 'Warren can you hear me?' She thought.
~ ~ ~ ~ ~Fairy Tail Guild building~ ~ ~ ~ ~
'Loud and clear Laki. What's your progress?' Warren responded mentally.
'We did as Erza said and we got him! Rouki is without movement!'
'Uh so...you got him?' Warren asked back, feeling confused with Laki's 'unique' way of talking.
'That's what I just said.'
'OK great I'll tell Erza!' Warren briefly halted his telepathic conversation with Laki and turned to Erza who stood beside him. "They got him!"
"That's good news. They followed every step to the letter?" Erza asked. "Did they make it so Rouki was unable to do anything?"
Warren put his fingers to his head for a minute before answering. "Yes. They tied Rouki up with their special wires so he couldn't draw his sword, dropped a smokescreen, and trapped him in Laki's prison with it just as you asked."
"Perfect! If all goes well then Rouki will be out cold. His fight with Volce and Gala showed us a few key points in his fighting style. Now that we took care of them he shouldn't be able to do anything."
"Rouki can't draw his sword if his hands and arms are completely held down. He can't see where he would teleport to if he was trapped in Laki's wooden prison, and the smoke that's in there with him will have him coughing and passing out in no time."
"Alright! Be prepared for anything!" Laki warned her friends as she stood before the wooden iron maiden. The ninja dressed women took their places surrounding Rouki's prison fully prepared for anything.
"Come on, come on...let's hear something go 'thump.'" Laki said to herself softly hoping to hear the sound of Rouki collapsing inside the small space of the maiden.
"Laki behind you!" One of the girls shouted.
Laki quickly turned and moved her hands to be ready to perform her Wood Make but stopped when she saw what was behind her.
Not even the size of a coin, a small glowing white dot hung in the air five feet from the ground. Laki stood still expecting something to happen but the dot was doing nothing. Deciding to take a chance she moved forwards until she stood right in front of it.
"What is it?" The tonfa wielder asked.
"I don't know. It's just, just floating there." Laki responded as she moved around it. As she did she noticed something about the dot. When she stood to the side of it, it seemed to disappear from sight. When she moved to stand behind it the dot appeared again. It was almost like it was two dimensional. Laki swiftly moved her hand out above then below it to see if anything was keeping it in the air but there was nothing. Then suddenly the dot seemed to glow brighter.
"Laki watch out!" One of the girls shouted but as she yelled the dot rapidly grew outwards to become large enough for a person to stand in without touching the edges.
Clang. Clang.
"What the-!" Laki started to speak but was cut off due to the sight in front of her. Rouki had just stepped out of the widened dot.
"Wha-? How did you..."Laki began. Rouki looked at her as she stood away from him.
"Teleportation and dimensional travel are two different things. I simply walked through a dimensional tunnel from one location to the next. Now if you will excuse me." Rouki said calmly before he began walking again.
"Where do you think you're going?!" He heard behind him. Rouki turned his head to see all four of Laki's partners leaping at him with weapons drawn back to strike.
As they came down from their jump Rouki slid his sheathed sword forwards in his hand and turned to face the four women coming at him while bringing up his sword. All of their weapons came down at once upon Rouki's sheathed sword only to meet an abrupt halt as Rouki's arm did not waver from how he held it out, seemingly unaffected by the four's combined attack on him.
"Push him back!" One of them shouted.
"What do you think we're trying to do?!"
"You're not trying hard enough." Rouki said to them. He slowly brought his arm down to his sword held at his chest's height. "You have to dig in and do it like this."
Rouki suddenly straightened his arm out and stepped forwards forcing the four women to slide back on their feet. His greaves clanging against the ground beneath him with every step, Rouki had pushed the four women back ten feet before he suddenly let go with his left hand and reached up with his right to hold his sword underhanded and pulled it upwards. The four women who still had their weapons clashing against Rouki's were suddenly lifted from the ground and flipped over Rouki to land on the ground behind him.
Rouki now faced them and swiftly twirled his sword back into his left hand holding the sheath just below the guard.
"Damn it! Laki!" The claw wielding woman shouted, "We'll get an opening out of him and then you hit him hard!"
"Got it!" Laki said before she watched her allies rush towards Rouki.
The claw wielder was the first to reach Rouki and thrust out her right arm's claw. Rouki responded by lifting his sheathed sword up and forcing her claws to move harmlessly upwards which forced the girl to use her left claw to make a swipe at his abdomen. Rouki's armored right forearm came up to clash with her claws making both of her arms occupied. From behind Rouki the scythe wielder pulled back her weapon to make a large swing at Rouki's back, but Rouki quickly slid his sword down to make the claw girl's right arm come down forwards towards the scythe girl making her back away to avoid being cut by her team mate's own weapon.
Rouki then maneuvered his back to the claw girl's and faced the next opponent coming at him which was the girl with the double ended spear. She thrust the blade of her weapon at Rouki but his right hand came up to grab the spear and pulled it to add more momentum to the girl's thrust while maneuvering it to be aimed next to the claw girl's head. The added momentum forced the spear wielder to almost fly forwards into her ally and topple her into the ground.
"I'm genuinely disappointed. You won't be much work when I come back for the rest of you after Mirajane." Rouki said off handedly as he turned to face the downed opponents.
"SHUT UP!" The scythe wielder shouted before she jumped up and over her fallen friends and brought her scythe back to make a horizontal strike at Rouki.
Rouki quickly tucked in his arms and rotated his body while stepping forwards. By the time the scythe blade had reached the spot where Rouki was, he was already within the area between the blade and the girl wielding it. Using the momentum he gained by rotating, Rouki trust his hand out with his palm open when his right side faced the girl. His hand was sent into her stomach with enough force to make her lose her grip and drop her scythe while she was knocked back into her friends who had been trying to get back up.
Rouki turned around when the last of the group, the girl with the tonfas, came running at him and released a punch meant to hit him square in the face with her right hand. But Rouki's armored hand came up to grab her wrist before she had made contact.
"Wha-!" Was all the girl could say before Rouki pulled on her fist in his hand and caused her to flip around in the air to land on her back.
"Just what is your magic supposed to be anyway?" Rouki asked to his downed opponent with her fist still in his grip.
"How about we give you a taste?!" The girl shouted at him. She then dropped the tonfa she held in her left hand to reach up and grab Rouki's arm and pull him down to make him slouch slightly. "Get him now!"
Rouki looked up to see his previous three opponents coming at him at once. His eyebrow raised slightly when each of their weapons started to glow and they each shouted their respective attack names.
"Violet Stinger!"
"Reaper Havoc!"
"Savage Slasher!"
Rouki responded by strongly pulling the girl backwards and sent her flying past Laki. This resulted in his back being shown to the three coming at him.
"GOT YOU!" All three shouted as Rouki turned to face them. He then suddenly flung his arms out and leaned forward, making all of the weapons strike at the armor he wore on his torso.
CRK! CRK! CRK!
All three girl's weapons shattered at the tips of each of their blades and gained long cracks down the length of the metal. The three girl pulled back their weapons to look at them in astonishment.
"What just happened!? My claws!"
"My spear!"
"My scythe!"
"Simple." Came from Rouki. "My armor was made better than your weapons. Best to get new ones before the day is done."
"Wood make: The Dam of Shy Love!"
"The what?" Rouki suddenly questioned as a loud rumbling suddenly came from his right. He jumped back and disappeared from sight as multiple weapons made of wood sprang up from the ground in a row where Rouki once stood.
Laki quickly started to look around for Rouki as the four girls rushed to her side.
"Do you see him?" She asked.
"No, and what can we do now? Our weapons are broke!" The girl with the spear said.
"They can still work! So long as they have an edge they can still get the job done!" The claw girl responded.
"Good attitude. Lets hope you still have it later on."
The girls looked down the street to see Rouki continuing on his path towards the guild building.
"Were do you think you're going?!" Laki shouted as she sprinted forwards. As she was running she began to build her magical power into her hands. When she got close enough she leaped up as high as she could and brought her hands down hard to the ground when she landed.
"Wood Make: The Distance Between The Two Is Forever!"
"Again, the what?" Rouki asked aloud before the ground beneath him rumbled. In a circle around Rouki multiple giant wooden appendages sprung up from the ground and leaned back at their joints. The wooden hands opened wide and began to swing down at Rouki who looked at the towering wood constructs with a serious look.
"Good effort. But not enough." Rouki said as his right hand grasped his sword. "Dimension Slash: Ring!"
Rouki swiftly drew his sword and rotated his body at the same time. As his sword cut through the air a shining silver light followed his movement through the wood constructs spanning through their width with a harmonic ringing sound. When Rouki completed his rotation to face the same way he had before moving, each of the appendages that circled him had a part of the giant ring of light through them. Rouki calmly started to walk past the giant arms as they seemed unable to move with the ring going through them.
"What is that? Is that Rouki's magic?!" Laki asked aloud seeing her wood constructs unable to move.
When Rouki was out of the circle of arms he brought up his sword and brought it to it's sheath. When the guard clicked upon fully being sheathed the ring of light pulsed outwards and dissipated. Shortly after each construct made a rumbling noise as they each had their upper halves sliding down until they fell completely off and crashed onto the ground with the lower halves showing a perfectly clean cut where the ring was.
"What the hell did he do? How did he cut them without actually using his sword?! What was that light?!" The spear wielding girl asked astonished.
"It doesn't matter what he did we still have to stop him, let's go!" The claw wielder yelled.
The four girls plus Laki started running towards Rouki as fast as they could but just as they were about to reach the rubble of Laki's constructs they heard a loud ringing tone.
"Dimension Slash: Horizon."
In front of the girls a line of light appeared and reached from one side of the street to the other. They all abruptly stopped dead in their tracks to avoid any contact with the strange attack Rouki had made.
"You're done. Regroup and be ready when I come back after Mirajane and I have fought. I need you to be at your best at that time." They heard Rouki's voice from the other side of the rubble along with the fading sounds of his armored feet fading in the distance.
"Damn it! We couldn't do anything!" One of the girls said, frustrated.
"We slowed him down didn't we?" Another asked with a downtrodden sounding voice.
"This wasn't a waist." Laki said. The other girls turned to her as she said this. "We just saw a bit of what Rouki can do. We should tell Erza so she can inform the next group." Laki closed her eyes and concentrated.
Meanwhile the girls turned when they heard footsteps behind them.
"Hey guys! What happened here?!"
"Volce! Gala!" The two mages slowed their pace as they came up to their guild mates. "We did our best but.." The scythe wielding girl looked down to her weapon, "Rouki still got past us."
"So what's the plan now?" Gala asked.
"Laki's getting a hold of Erza to find out."
~ ~ ~ ~At the Guild~ ~ ~ ~
"He can do what?!" Erza asked loudly grabbing the attention of a few of the guild members stationed around the hall.
"Yeah, Laki says he can make some kind of light that cuts things as big as her wood constructs, and in a huge area. His fighting skills are nothing to ignore either, he took on all of the group at once and not only did he not get a single scratch but his armor broke their weapons."
"A light that cuts like a sword...a large area of affect...guided by his sword...I've never heard of this before." Erza said while analyzing the information.
"It's probably the magic Rouki came up with." Warren said.
"Where are Laki and the others doing now?"
"They're waiting to know what their next move is."
"Tell them to head to the park. Rouki will be passing by it any moment now and the team there will be more effective if Laki and the others act as backup, and tell the team there about Rouki and his magic."
"Got it!" Warren affirmed before putting his fingers on his temples.
Rouki was still walking at an even pace when he reached the city park. He knew he was getting closer to the guild. Passing by the park was necessary to reach the road that lead to it. He stopped at the entrance to the park before passing it, looking at the playground for children and the benches for the couples to sit on and trees planted to give shade along the small road for joggers and bikers.
'It's kind of disturbing isn't it, Kazuvath?' he began to think 'This shouldn't be so foreign to me should it? I should have had interaction with this sort of thing when I was younger. I should have been playing and laughing when I was a child. We both should have...'
Rouki gripped his sword tighter as it rattled in his hand. His gaze fell to the armor on his chest as he brought his hand to it.
'But the only thing we had were reasons to wear things like this. We shouldn't have. I wish...I wish I didn't have to.'
Kazuvath seemed to rattle furiously in Rouki's hand in response. As if trying to express a dire argument.
'Yes I do! This has to be done! The defeat of Fairy Tail is a monumental step towards my ultimate goal. If I can defeat the strongest guild in the country, I will be able to beat...the enemy. And then...and then...'
Rouki's hair fell from behind his ears to fall upon his face, seemingly to shield his face from view.
'And then I will be able to face anything, I'll be able to fight anyone, and I will never, EVER have to see those tears again...this has to be done.'
Rouki's hand on his armor clenched closed at his last thoughts and he brought up to put his hair back behind his ears again before bringing it back to his side.
"Let's go." He said aloud.
"You took the words right out of my mouth!" A voice said behind him.
"Hm?!" Rouki turned around quickly to see a fist coming at him.
CLANG!
Said fist collided with the light post Rouki was standing near to when Rouki disappeared from sight then reappeared in the grass on the other side of the park. Rouki looked to see his attacker fully. It was a brown haired girl who wore a black dress, thick looking boots, and had grey gloves on her hands. On her shoulder was a small blue bird wearing a black wizard hat.
"Aw man you just had to dodge didn't you? I was looking forward to smashing your head in!" the woman said enthusiastically.
"I don't recognize you. Who would you be?" Rouki asked.
"Names Mickey Chickentiger. Better remember it because it's the name of the woman who's going to beat your ass!"
"You seem quite sure of yourself." Rouki said with his eyes narrowing.
"What can I say I love to fight. Ain't that right little Pii?" The woman turned to the bird on her shoulder and it looked back at her.
"Yep that's right!" It said.
"Huh, it talks."
"Oh he does more than that, get him little Pii!" Mickey called out. The bird, Pii, spread it's wings and took flight at Rouki. To Rouki's surprise the small bird caught fire mid flight and increased it's speed dramatically.
Rouki moved to the side and let the bird pass by him leaving wisps of flame in it's trail. Mickey took this opportunity to strike at Rouki again and let loose a hay maker aimed at his face. Rouki leaned back to let the hit come short but he saw the ball of flame coming at him again in his peripheral vision. Thinking quickly Rouki reached out and grabbed Mickey's arm and pulled her into the path of the ball of flame, but it suddenly changed it's flight path upwards over Mickey and back towards Rouki.
"Ha! Gotcha!" Mickey shouted before she threw an uppercut to Rouki's chin only to miss when he teleported away from her and closer to the trees lining the pathway through the park. He was about to retaliate when the little ball of flame came at him again. Rouki quickly teleported again further along the path.
"That's it! Get him! Get him!" Mickey shouted in glee as she gave chase after Rouki. "He ain't so tough!"
Rouki flicked his wrist as the flaming bird came at him. He brought up his hand ready to stop it's flight.
"Stupid bird." He said before reaching back with his hand.
"Gotcha!" Came a voice to his left. Rouki turned to see a very muscular arm reach out for him. Rouki had to change his strategy and reach out to grab the wrist of the arm to halt the person in their tracks.
"YEAH! Get him Joey!" Mickey yelled as she grew closer. The bird was getting closer as well so Rouki let go of the arm of his opponent and jumped back in time to let the bird fly by him again. Unfortunately this gave Mickey an opening that she took full advantage of and threw another punch.
Rouki brought his armored right arm up to block the punch, then he had to bring his left arm up and used his forearm to block a punch from joey. His armor clanged from the impacts.
"I remember you Joey. Though I don't remember you being so big." Rouki said to his heavily muscled opponent.
"We've all had changes Rouki, but you're still the same creepy kid you've always been."
"Oh I'm so hurt!" Rouki said back.
"Less talking more fighting!" Mickey yelled, throwing another punch to break the stand off. Rouki tossed away her previous punch to block the next one while he lifted his left leg to block a kick from Joey. He stomped down on Joey's foot but he pulled his foot back before Rouki could pin it to the ground. Rouki then broke the resistance to Joey's punch by swinging his arm back then forward again to hit Joey with his sheathed sword. Joey quickly put his arms up to grab Rouki's sheathed weapon as Mickey went to hit Rouki in the stomach.
Rouki brought his right knee up to block the punch then reached his leg out to hook it behind Mickey's right leg and pulled to force her to kneel on it. Rouki followed up quickly by reaching out and grabbing her throat. Rouki then leaned forwards as Pii shot over him again. When the air above him was clear Rouki pushed himself up with his legs while lifting with his arms. His effort proved useful as he threw both Joey and Mickey up over his shoulders and behind him.
"Jeez! What the hell?! How did he lift us both? He's not even half as big as you are!" Mickey yelled.
"Apparently he's stronger than he looks!"
"A lot stronger." A voice said behind them. Mickey and Joey looked back to see Rouki standing there raising his sword up behind him ready to swing. "Good night."
"Gomp!" Clonk!
The sound of something biting down was followed by metal clamping around metal as Rouki looked to see his arm being held by a metal dog's head.
"Wang." Rouki said.
"Rouki." Wang said.
"CHANCE!" Mickey yelled.
"Muscle Speak!" Joey chanted activating his magic and making Mickey's muscle mass increase slightly.
Rouki turned to see Mickey and Joey both sprint up from their spots on the ground and pull back their fists ready to strike. Rouki jumped and thrust out his feet to catch the impact with his greaves. The force made by their punches gave Rouki enough force to escape Wang's grip with his Iron Dog and fly backwards to get more room between himself and the three mages. Rouki placed his free arm on the ground to flip his body backwards into a kneeling position where he could stand up to face his opponents.
"Three versus one eh? Looks like Fairy Tail is finally getting the message."
"Who said there was just us three?" Mickey asked as Pii landed on her shoulder.
WHAM!
A large impact shot through the earth below Rouki and made him almost lose his footing if he hadn't used Kazuvath to right himself and stand straight. Just as he stood up a ray of light shot past his face nearly hitting his nose. Rouki looked to his right and saw a teenager in loose fitting clothes holding two cylindrical sticks, and a young child with his finger held out like a gun.
Click! Click!
Rouki looked to his left and saw a man and a woman both dressed in western clothing with a pair of pistols in the man's hands and a rifle in the woman's.
"Don't move." The man warned Rouki as he aimed both pistols at him.
"Hm hm hm hm hm." Rouki chuckled softly as he took in his surroundings. In the corner of his eye he could see more members of Fairy Tail rushing to the scene. "It looks like you're finally all riled up and ready to come at me full force. Good it'll further prove my strength when I fight you after I-"
"You are not laying a hand on hand on Mirajane!" the rifle woman yelled, aiming her rifle at Rouki's head. "You aren't going to hurt anyone."
"I would say 'Just try and stop me' but this situation proves that you already are. But all the same I have someplace to be." Rouki lifted his foot.
BANG!
