New Konaha
When Naruto flew in on Ryu after being fully healed, he was amazed at how much more it had advanced since he left for the Ash-lands. Massive multi level skyscrapers and elevated streets towered over bustling markets on the ground. There were two eleveled streets above the origanal streets, and the continuing height of the skyscrapers were near completion. The few that were completed made modern skyscrapers look like models. Even these though failed to make a impression on Naruto. His palace, now expanded on, was far larger and a much more massive structure. Dotting the walls was war towers that dwarfed even the skyscrapers, and walls so large and thick nothing save for a divine attack could even scratch them. The castle towered over that. Deivion continued his masterful building, and suprisingly looked younger, more youthful, and more vigerous. This was due to elixers he began taking to extend his life and improve his health.
"Love what you did with the place!" Naruto yelled over the construction of the city
"So do I! It puts my old great holds to shame already!" Deivion yelled back
"Where are you getting all these material!?" Naruto asked
"Ash-lands! The ash works great to make stone far tougher and able to withstand greater weights!" Deivion answered
Naruto walked towards on the elevators in the war towers and walked into the lobby/throne room. He sat down on his throne, and it's a lot more comfortable than before, and sunk in with blissful thoughts. The sounds of construction and bustling of the city didn't bother him.
With Hinata in the city
Hinata walked through the streets flanked by four heavy infantry. They on there sides wore longswords, and there kite shields held in the left hand. While Naruto was trusted to walk around the streets, due to extensive fighting experience and the fact Ryu flew around Naruto everywhere he walked, Hinata wasn't so much trusted. While she still had her training from her early teen's, she hadn't used them in a while so where ever she went guards flanked her. Crime was becoming a major problem in the city, and crime lords began to pop up around the city. There thugs and hit men had begun to spread illegal goods around the city and assasinate other crimanals in the streets. Naruto in order to fill the laber shortages, passed a bill to Hinata that for any crime forced laber was punishment, but the length of the sentence and severity of laber depended on the crime. She now was constantly hunted because she was the one that agreed to pass it.
"My lady, perhaps you should return to the palace." One of the guards said
"I-I'm fine. T-There's a silk shop down the street I want to look at." Hinata answered meekly and they went there
When they got there, there was a figure, in dark leather clothing selling something outside the shop, blocking the way in. It was hard to tell if the figure was man or woman due to the wide birth of the leather. One guard, a reformed criminal by the scar he had on his cheek, noticed what he was selling, Opium. Opium was legal for medical surgeries, but this figure was selling this on the street, meaning their not for medical use. He stomped the table, snapping it in half, and took out manicales to secure the figure.
"You are under arrest for illegal possesion and distribution of Opium!" The guard roared as the figure tried to escape, but another guard bashed his chest with his shield, stopping the figure in their tracks
"I swear, this wasn't my idea!" The figure said as he was handcuffed
"Tell that to the judge." The guard replied and dragged the figure away
"After you your majesty." The only female guard of the four said
"Thank you." Hinata replied scared half to death
She walked in, and bought a small basket full of rich silk and left, giving the clerk a handsome tip to be generous. When she walked in the palace gates the guards broke off to do there usual duties. She walked in and found Naruto dozing on his throne, a bit of drool going down the left part of his chin. She sat down on her throne next to him, and before she began knitting, she whipped away the drool from his chin. Kuroi walked up and saw the site, and just chuckled, as his pack ran past him.
"I told you, stop running around the palace!" Kuroi howled, waking Naruto up
"Whats going on Kuroi?" Naruto asked
"Nothing pal. My packs getting used to urban life. Hang on." He said and tripped his dad as he tried to run past, "No running in the palace. Pass the word."
"Fine." Taikara growled, and walked off
"Anyways. I got some news to tell you. First, there is still a continuing influx of orcs coming from the north. This is swelling the population of the empire to new heights, and are filling laber and military shortages." Kuroi said, reading a scroll
"Thank Kami, I swear if I didn't get anybody else in the army soon I'd be finished." Naruto said thankful
"However, our northern neighbor isn't taking kindly to it." Kuroi replied
"Who?" Naruto asked
"They made a lot of trouble recently under there most recent king Therron. 19 and has a insatiable lust for women, land and gold. He has a set of demands to you. His demands are that you halt your immigration process of Orc's through his land and surrender your empire to him." Kuroi said
"HAAAHHAAAAHHAAA!" Naruto laughed, and the laugh echoed through the halls
"So say no?" Kuroi asked
"Ya. Send him the return response." Naruto replied
"Lets see how this goes." Kuroi muttered and went off to write the letter
To the north
King Therron got his empire from his father at age 10, and the sudden influx of absolute power at such a young age had a profound impact on him. Now 19 years old, and he is ruling a empire of sweeping grasslands, and rich trade routes. His empire is roughly 4 times the size of Naruto's. Under his peoples thumb were forcefully kept other nomadic horse empires, using the entire male population as soldiers, and the females as slaves. A messanger rode his horse to the palace, a massive fortress in the middle of nowhere. After riding in the gate, he walked into the palace, a massive and ornate place. The dominate people had a wide range of features due to admixture with the other nomadic peoples over the years, but there general features is blonde hair, blue eyes, a olive skin, and generally broad shouldered bodies, standing around 5'10. Therron was the perfect example of this. Around him is a few dozen females in scandalous clothing.
"Ah Oradon, tell me of the new to our southern trouble makers." Therron said, a air of confidence and cockiness about him as he twirled the hair of one of his slaves
"Sir... it didn't go as you had origanally thought." Oradon answered meekly
"What? Give me the scroll!" Therron roared shocked and then looked at it
The scroll said; To your demands, the Orc's by my constituion have full right to immigrate into my empire. And to your second demand... are you crazy? What kind of egotistical maniac of a ruler are you to try and just demand other nations to surrender without a fight. You want to take my empire, bring it on asshole, I'll take you on any time, anywhere. Hell, you name time and date, and I'll name where on our border we fight. If we are going to fight a war, lets fight a war like men, not demand like boys. Signed Kuroi of the dragon empire, advisor to the Naruto Namikaze, Emperor of the Dragon empire
That enraged him to no end. Jumping up to his feet and marched to his stable, and mounted his best horse. He then rode out and suddenly entire armies of horsemen followed him. The army he suddenly massed together was 755,000 horsemen, all armed with maces and composite bows.
Next day, near the border
"I still don't get why we are even here?" Taikara said to Kuroi as Naruto's standing army of 400,000 stood waiting
"We are at war with horsemen. Don't tell me you lost your taste for horse?" Kuroi asked
"Mmm horse. I haven't eaten it in so long." Taikara mused, and it sent his pack into a frenzy
"There you go having to rile up the natives." Naruto said
"Oh sure blame me." Kuroi shot back
"Gentlemen, we have company." Ventro's said, looking off in the distance as the horsemen rode
It was exactly noon. Over a grassy ridge stood Therron, and then his horsemen crossed over. He sounded a horn. That not only sent his horsemen into action, it send Naruto's into battle formation. The spearmen got in front, then the chainmail wearing medium troops, and the heavy troops closly behind. Archers and Crossbowmen were also between the ranks of the melee troops, ready to fire and kill. Kuroi's pack were ready to charge against the horsemen's lines. Finally flying dragons, lead by Naruto and Ryu were ready to burn the horsemen.
"You have 5 seconds to surrender!" Therron roared
"Says the person that doesn't have 15 dragons behind him!" Naruto yelled back
"Attack!" Therron roared, and his army charged
"Fire volley!" Ventros roared, and the ranged troops fired
Several hundred dropped in the first volley, but the horsemen behind them jumped over the dead bodies. More volleys were fired and more hundreds were dropped, but it barely put a dent in the horsemen. The dragons swooped down, smashing the lines with fire, arrows from there riders, and sweeping wing attacks. This did a massive hit in the lines as horse's and men screamed as fire engulfed them. Therron called for more troops, and more came, these split between two types. Some had lances while others had large bows. The lancers charged forward, while some dropped, they snuck past the dragons and charged the lines. Initally they died on the spears of the spearmen, but the sheer weight of the forces behind them broke through. The entire first part of the line was smashed apart. While the infantry did have good armor and weapons, against calvery a longsword or axe in more times than not would be useless.
"Reform the line!" One of the generals roared, and the troops tried, but it was too late
Kuroi's pack hit the flank of the lancers, but it wasn't enough. Charging through the lines like a knife through butter, even the heroic acts of some wasn't enough to stop them. The horsemen's lances were covered and caked with blood. The few survivors retreated, a few hundred out 400,000. Kuroi ordered his pack to retreat, as they could do little. Now the dragons were about to fall prey. The horse archers sent massive vollies of arrows into the sky. Dragons looked like porcupines with the arrows sticking out of them, and there riders dropped when they were hit with pin point accuracy. Even the dragons fell dead on the burning fields. Ryu was hit in the wing and dropped. Where Naruto landed, Therron rode up to him.
"The battle is lost. Surrender and I will spare you cause of the amusement you gave me." Therron said, swirling his sword in hand
"You may have won the battle, but not the war asshole!" Naruto roared as Ryu's tail smashed into Therrons mount
The blow killed the horse instantly, and sent Therron flying back, getting knocked out on contact. Naruto jumped on Ryu and he flew as fast as his injured wing could carry him. The archers didn't do anything as there leader was knocked out, unable to give them orders. They picked him up and carried him away, moving back to his palace.
2 hours later in New Konaha
"Well that was a disaster." Kuroi said, getting bandaged up by Shizune, only to have him hit in one of those areas to shut him up
"How could that have happened?" Naruto muttered to himself as he paced back and forth
"Everyone loses." Ventro's said
"You forget, we lost most of our army in that battle. Its a massive blow to us." Taikara shot back
"We have to rebuild, and put the fire drakes and zombie dragons into battle next time. That bastards cockiness will be his downfall, and I will be the instrument of his destruction!" Naruto roared and stormed off to begin making plans
"Can I quit a war?" Ventro's said
"Ya, its called desertion. Followed by court marshal and beheading." Kuroi calmly replied and followed Naruto
"That bastard wants a fight, I'll give him one. He'll wish he never messed with me." Naruto growled and sat down on his desk, immediately drawing plans
While Naruto mused over defeat, the horsemen waited for victory... as soon as there leader recovered.
