3rd last day before full moon rises
Jack's POV
Lilly and I have been flying after Selena's scent for about 11 hours. I am determined to find Selena but Lilly is tiring and as determined as she was too, I knew she couldn't keep up much longer; I hope our destination isn't too much further. I decided then and there that if our destination doesn't come up in the next 2 hours I am going to force Lilly to stop flying and rest knowing that if I didn't when we found Selena she would be ropable at me for letting her head wolf pixie tire herself out so much. Thinking of that made me chuckle and even more determined than before to find her.
Luckily Lilly landed in a small eucalypt forest and started growling at a cave entrance "good girl" I praised her while patting her head "you stay here I'll have a look, and stay hidden someone could come by" she growled at this idea "you are not even close to battle ready if it comes to it and besides I might need you to go get the others if I can't handle them" Lilly looked at me annoyed but she finally sulked off behind a rock and slumped to the ground panting. I rolled my eyes why doesn't she notice that she is not as big as a real wolf and can't do as much. I entered the cave entrance it was dark and there was a bed frame in the middle of it. I looked under the bed to find a hole, but the sound of Eris talking to herself made me hide behind a rock "… can't he go fetch his own stuff or am I just an errand girl to him? I thought we were partners? That will change soon once I take all the power of the moonflower and the power of my delinquent sister, Pitch's precious Selena" that last part made me even angrier at her. Although what really ticked me off was how Eris referred to Selena as 'Pitch's precious' she was not his precious, she is his enemy. I ran back out to get Lilly and as she came out from behind her rock "Lilly if I'm not out of there in the next hour go get the others the first one you come across and bring them back here" after giving her a job I flew back inside the cave and under the old rotten bed into the hole and began making his way through the dark, damp tunnel. Eris had already gone through so she would have already come out the other end of the tunnel. In other words I could go faster than if she was still in the tunnel. At the moment they don't know that I am here, giving me the advantage of surprise, so I'm using it.
Selena's POV
I knew I had to preserve my strength so that if I got out of here I could perform the spell but I had multiple cuts from shuffling around the cage looking for a spot that was comfortable. I soon realised there was no comfortable spot and just sat there. One cut hurt more than all others it was on my wrist and wouldn't stop bleeding when I first cut it the blood streamed out making me wince but then my blood began to clot sealing the cut a bit; this is where I was losing the most blood. So sitting still seemed the best and most logical way to be a prisoner; as weird as that sounds. Pitch made his way back in but I didn't even bother moving to see him; it wasn't worth getting cut again. "oh dear," he said mockingly "you're hurt can I help" he reached for my bleeding wrist and I pulled it away from him opening a new wound in my shoulder from the action. "Tt. Tt. Tt… see if you don't listen to me you get hurt" he grabbed for my wrist and pulled it towards him. Looking at it he smiled and sprinkled some black powder into the cut, I recoiled but his vice like grip kept my wrist firmly in place, the pain was excruciating, it was like he had sprinkled poison into my veins. "What did you do to me" I screamed at him, my pain showing through my voice, "I just helped you, that pollen will soon consume you and turn you into your darkest self, its quite beautiful really" I growled at him but I was cut off as I leaned forward as if to throw up the contents of my stomach, but there was nothing in my stomach to do so, I just gagged. "Unless you are to pure then it will most likely kill you, but I believe you have a dark side" he spoke in a menacingly happy voice "one that only shows when you hate someone," he breathed down my neck. It made me shiver but I held fast not wanting to show him my fear. Once he left the room I curled up ignoring the pain, the blood and the poison, I just sat there and whimpered to weak to actually cry, it was then that I felt it, that unmistakable yanking of my gut as the animal rose within, I put as much strength as I could to push it back down. This was not good if I let go there is no telling what might happen and what I might do.
Jack's POV
I could see the light coming from the main chamber, it was dull but it was light. I picked up my pace flying to the entrance of the large room, I'd seen it before when Pitch stole all the teeth and all of Tooth's little pixies. Except their wasn't hundreds of cages their was one, it wasn't filled with pixies but a girl curled up in a ball, the one girl that meant everything. I took a few steps into the large area and looked around for Pitch or Eris, making sure we were alone. "Selena… Selena are you okay, please be okay" she just turned weakly toward me with wide brown eyes a look of surprise that turned to hope and then to worry. But what stunned me was the amount of cuts and bruises that covered her usually perfectly pale skin, note to self: kick Pitch's ass for hurting Selena.
Selena's POV
"Selena… Selena are you okay, please be okay," he said those words that made me brave the pain and turn around to see him… it was Jack. There he was still just as handsome and devilish as before his face a look of joy that turned to worry and then to anger. He flew towards me "what are you doing here" I hissed he went to grab a hold of the cage I was in "NO… don't touch the bars they'll cut you" he jerked his hands away from the bars and just stood there looking at me. "What do you mean, what am I doing here" his anger showing through his voice "I'm here to rescue you to get you out of here before Pitch can hurt you" he looked me over and hurt flashed across his face before returning to anger "but I guess I'm too late for that" his gaze rested on my injured wrist I pulled it away not wanting to let him feel guilty for my pain. I looked down, away from his eyes, as he reached his hand through the bars, careful not to touch them, and cupped my cheek pulling my face so that I was forced to look at him. And for the first time in hours a single tear trickled down my face, he wiped it smiling at me. it was all I needed to give me the slightest bit of hope, until it was washed away by something… by fear. "Well this is touching" that voice filled my ears like children screaming and Jack's face went from worry over me to anger at Pitch. He whirled around pulling his hand out of the cage and hovered in the air between Pitch and me. "Jack go, get out of here before he hurts you too" I growled at him, it affected him to hear me growl at him but I he returned to his protective stance. "let her go Pitch before I hurt you " Jack said with so much anger it made me cower slightly. "why would I do that, I finally have everything that I want" pitch spoke as if he was totally calm "why do you want her, in fact, take me instead of her, keep me prisoner instead of her, just let her go" "tempting… but no, I don't want you as my prisoner" "then what do you want Pitch" "I want… her" he gestured towards me. jack said one word filled with so much venom it could kill a whale. "Never" he raised his staff and blasted ice at Pitch, who blocked it with a swirl of black smoke. A battle ensued and at one point jack turned his staff to me… and shot ice at me. No… not at me, at the cage. He ducked as Pitch's smoke shot towards him, instead hitting the cage smashing it open on impact. Everything slowed down, the fighting, the pain, the poison just as I fell through the darkness of the cave, closing my eyes as I passed out, too weak to do anything but…
