I don't own PJO.

"Thank you dear," Athena said. "Though I was hoping he would say it."

"Knocked up?" Percy echoed curiously.

"You mean you're…MOM!"

The wisdom goddess smiled sheepishly at her daughter. "Yes, Annabeth I am. I apologize for the shock. We weren't planning on this."

"What does knocked up mean?" Nico asked. "What's going on?"

Thalia glared at him. "She's pregnant dummy!"

"Oh…okay…wait, with Poseidon's kid?"

"Yes!"

Nico looked back and forth from Percy to Annabeth. "That's just weird."

"I'm trying to process this," Percy said rubbing his temples. "When did this happen?"

Poseidon blushed. "Three months ago."

"Why didn't you tell us?" he asked. "Shouldn't we have known?"

"We didn't know then!" the sea god protested.

Percy gestured to Athena. "You should have told me that you…you know...with my fiancée's mother?"

"Fiancée? Since when?"

Athena looked at Poseidon. "That's beside the point right now."

"Sorry. I thought changing the subject would help."

"You could have told me that you had feelings for Athena Dad!" Percy said sounding exasperated.

"I didn't know!"

"You didn't know? How can you not know?!"

"I didn't know I would ever do anything about it!"

Nico looked around. "Does anyone else find this weird?"

"What the pregnancy, the argument, the whole situation, or the fact it looks like they're twin brothers?" Thalia asked.

"Oh no I was talking about the fact that Athena looks really pale."

Apollo looked over at his sister nervously. "Athena?"

"I'm fine."

"Are you sure?"

"It's nothing, major."

He looked at her once before turning towards the door. "ARTY! You get in here!"

Artemis poked her head in the door and immediately went pale. "Athena, how often?"

"What?"

"The pain how often?"

"Every three minutes."

"For how long?"

"It's been going on for a while now."

"How didn't you notice during the ultrasound?"

Apollo was vehement. "I'm sorry Arty have you ever tried to use an ultrasound before?"

Percy and Poseidon turned towards the rest of the people there. "What's going on?"

"She's in labor."

The demigods all looked around awkwardly. "What?"

"Use that dog now!"

"What?"

"Turn her back into a goddess. Now, or I don't know how long it will be."

Mrs. O'Leary happily complied.

Later, a teenager with dark hair emerged from the infirmary. Everyone in camp was gathered round out of pure curiosity. "Dylan, is that?"

He nodded at his 'brother'. "Yeah, this is Eden Rose Merrick, well sort of."

"Sort of?"

"Well she's not actually a demigod. Eden here is a goddess."

Then Athena stepped out, still slightly sweaty, but smiling and she took the baby from his hands. "Isn't she gorgeous?"

"She looks like her mother."

"Thank you, I feel they might want to understand who you are."

He nodded. "Fine, come here Mrs. O'Leary."

The dog complied happily and licked him over an over before they could pull her off him. "I guess you must taste like salt Dad. She really likes salt."

"Dad?" some one questioned. "Dylan what does he mean by...Oh my gods."

"Lord Poseidon?"

"What's going on?"

"I'm confused!"

"What do you mean it's Poseidon?"

The crowd yelled, screamed, and stretched to see what was going on up front. Elle snapped her fingers and her new admirer shouted loudly. The crowd shut up quickly, scared of the boy even if he only had one arm to work with currently.

Poseidon waved kind of bashfully. "Hello. I think we owe you guys an explanation."

"I would say so!"

"Well, Athena and I..."

"They had sex."

He sighed. "Thank you Elle." He looked at the crowd. "You all know the rivalry that has been going on for years between Athena and myself. Well, it was always that way. For years we got along, and then my granddaughter died."

"It was all my fault," Athena chimed in.

"No it was your father's."

"Don't bring me into this!"

Poseidon sighed. "Any way you put it. I blamed it on Athena and refused to speak to her. Then one day she found the thing that could make me acknowledge her, an argument."

"So I prodded him to argue with me at every moment."

"And I did so willingly, every frustration was poured out into those arguments."

Athena took over from there. "The fights became what I lived for and they all culminated in the battle over Athens. When I won, Poseidon took his revenge too far with Medusa. And for years we avoided each other. Until certain circumstances made us interact."

Percy shrugged politely. "Sorry."

"It's not your fault, son. We were bound to clash on again anyway." Poseidon looked at Athena. "Then suddenly we couldn't get away from each other and what with my divorce...it all came together when we were left alone."

Athena looked around. "But this whole ordeal makes me really nervous for you guys. Your siblings have saved the world and your only concerns have to deal with who is next. Do you really want to be next? Do you think that being a high profile demigod is fun?"

"But, if you don't see us do great things, we'll never be remembered."

"That's where you are wrong. The gods, we can't die. We can't have a mortal life. We can't have anything. We live through you. Every god knows every little thing their children do. We know your names; we know your lineages. We know so much. We watch over you every chance we get. We will never forget you, because you don't know how much we want to be you."

"And we want to be normal."

"But none of us can have that can we?"

Eden cooed in agreement wondering just what kind of family she had been born into.

So that ends the tale. And I know it's a bleak ending. But it's supposed to make you think and make you guess. What's going to happen to these people in these circumstances?

It all depends on you and I'd love to hear what you think. Personally, I like to think positively.

This story has been drama filled and you know it doesn't quite suit this pairing. When I write my next Percy Jackson story, I'm going to take on the other extreme (hopefully it will take place around Valentine's day).

But for now, if you like it I've slipped into the depths of the Hetalia fandom including the shipping side. You can come check that out, if not I'll see you again soon. Have a nice 2014 till I see you again fandom.
