I don't own Harry Potter

Chapter 2

Harry was right though. It had been a long day. The girls were too shocked to talk much during the day which resulted in awkward moments. Harry managed to get everything he needed for his school year and jammed it all into his trunk, which he was told was magically enchanted so that he could fit anything in there, and placed that in the trunk. Hedwig, his owl, was let out of her cage and Harry told her to meet him at the house. His wand was in his pocket as well. The trip back home was a quiet one. Petunia dropped the girls off first and then asked Harry and Dudley what happened. They explained and said that maybe it was just too much at once. By the time they arrived home, Stacy had texted Dudley and told him that, while weird, it was an experience for her. She saw Harry no differently and would still like to be his friend. This made Harry feel better, but he wished he would get a text from Olivia.

Later that night his phone vibrated. Harry, being asleep beforehand, grabbed the phone and answered it without checking the caller id.

"Hello?" Harry said groggily

"Hi Harry, were you sleep?" Olivia asked

"Olivia?" Harry said in surprise as he immediately woke up.

"Hey." Olivia responded

"I'm so glad you called me." Harry said

"How can you be happy when I haven't even told you why I'm calling. I could be calling to break up with you." Olivia said. Her voice gave away nothing

"Are you?" Harry asked

"No Harry. I just wanted to tell you that I'm over the weirdness and that I still like you. I want you to go to this school and learn everything you can and then come back and show me everything you've learned." Olivia said

"Will do. I was actually planning on cracking open my books tomorrow. Would you like to come over and go through them with me?" Harry asked

"No, this is something just for you. Take all the time you need to study, but remember I don't have any other plans for this summer." Olivia said

"I won't. Good night." Harry said

"Good night." Olivia said as they hung up.

The rest of the time until Harry had to board the Hogwarts express was pretty uneventful. Harry became very interested in all of his future subjects in school and took the time to read through the books he had at least once, with potions being read at least twice. From what he read he assumed this class to be more about what you knew and not what you could do. Harry was nervous of his own skill in magic, but potions appeared to be a class where the use of magic was seldom. Harry, after reading the book through for the first time, promised himself that he would excel in this class if not the others. Harry also found time to hang around Dudley, Olivia and Stacy.

September the first had finally arrived and Harry hopped out of the car and grabbed his trunk. Harry, who had found out that Hedwig had a skill of finding wherever she wanted to go easily without an address or directions, sent her ahead to wait for him at hogwarts. The two boys departed with a handshake, a promise to write each other often, and a see you for the christmas holidays.

"Hey isn't that the Grangers?" Dudley asked before getting back in his Mom's car, Vernon had to work, but knew exactly what was going on. He didn't initially like that Harry would go to the school, but seeing that Harry remained the same and actually became more studious caused him to give in, if only slightly. The Grangers were Harry and Dudley's dentists and had been that for years.

"Yeah. I didn't know they had a daughter though. Check out her luggage. It looks like mine. I'll see you later Dudley, I wanna go talk to her." Harry said

"Don't forget about Olivia." Dudley joked.

Harry smiled and waved him off as he walked over to the family who were saying there goodbyes.

"Hey Mr. and Mrs. Granger. Hi I'm Harry Potter." Harry said as he approached the family and greeted the parents and introduced himself to the daughter.

After a quick glance to his forehead, "You're Harry Potter? How do you know my parents?" The girl asked

"I guess you know. I don't really like the reasoning for me being famous, so can you treat me like a normal perosn. Your parents are mine and my cousins dentists." Harry said

"Sorry, I won't bring it up again." She said

"Hermione, how about you guys finish this conversation on the train and next time remember to introduce yourself before continuing a conversation. Have a good school year you too." Mr. Granger said

"So you are going to Hogwarts. I noticed your trunk and walked over to see if you were. I didn't know your parents were witch and wizard." Harry said as started walking into the station shortly followed by Hermione.

"They aren't actually. I'm what is known as a muggleborn." Hermione said

"What's that?" Harry asked

"Muggles are non magical people like my parents. Muggleborn are witches or wizards that are born from muggles." Hermione said

"My cousin aunt and her husband are muggles as well. When we get on the train let's talk." Harry said as he broke into a run, pushing his cart through the barrier and onto the platform 9 and three quarters. He was shortly followed by Hermione. Upon opting out of someone to come and show them how to get onto the platform, they were given detailed instructions. They also saw a family of redheads do the same thing that they were told to do.

"Let's find a compartment." Hermione said in a bossy tone

"Whatever you say." Harry said with a grin. His first friend in the magical world was someone he could hang out with in the muggle world as well. This was going to be a long and hopefully enjoyable 7 years.
