I hope you all had a good holiday. I'm finished with this story I created for my SOA try-out so check it out I really need input on it! It's called "Wake-Up Call" Ok rant time over!
WAIT everyone who has wanted to read the EO talk it's in this chapter:-)
Disclaimer: Haahahaha… I wish they were mine.
Seconds, Minutes pass as the group of friends look between Kathy and Elliot. No one daring enough to speak. No one courageous enough to break up their murderous glares. Five years will do that to people. You and your ex husband are in the nastiest custody battle you ever saw. Fighting, swearing, using your youngest son as ammunition. All of a sudden boom! He's gone missing. No one's seen him. No one's contacted him. He left you there with your five year old son wondering when he's going to see daddy again. Five years later he shows up. Just out of the blue. One of your closest friends brought him here without even thinking about you. And how long had that bitch known where he was?! It was probably her in the first place that made him disappear. No don't even go have so much to say to him but you have so little time it's crazy.
"Where the hell have you been?! Did you forget you had kids?! And that you're a parent?! I can't- I cannot BELIEVE you! You inconsiderate, unreliable, asshole! Did you once think about Eli?! Elizabeth?! Richard? Kathleen? Maureen? Do you even care abou-"Kathy was interrupted by a sorrowful Elliot.
"I know you have a right to yell at me. Hell, if I was in your shoes I would shoot me in the balls. Yes I left. Yes I haven't talked to any of you in five years so I can accept that I'm going to have to do a lot to regain your trust. And y'all are probably questioning why I'm even here. But one thing you never have to question is my love and commitment to my children. I would die a thousand deaths before I let something bad happen to my kids. So don't even think like that I don't care about my kids because I do,"Elliot replies looking her dead in the eyes.
"Um look at the time, I better go! I have court early tomorrow," Trevor Langan announces to the group while collecting his stuff at a rather rushed speed. Kathy takes her eyes off of Elliot and looks toward Trevor,"Babe, don't forget you're my ride home! Bye guys and gals… Elliot" Kathy exclaims cheerfully as if nothing just happened.
Elliot watched as the left hand in hand, confused as could be. "When did…that happen?" He finally asks when the door closed.
"A few months ago," Munch reveals, being the only one able to speak at the moment.
"So…" Melinda utters failing to muster a conversation.
"You know what it is surely late! I must be heading home to feed my fish! You know Bubbles gets feisty when she hasn't had her late night feeding,"Casey excuses herself then adds,"Olivia, John, Elliot! Why don't you two accompany me on my long journey downstairs," Casey asks them hinting they needed to come with her. Munch and Olivia complied, Elliot just followed Olivia trying not to upset anyone because he doesn't want another tongue lashing.
"If I didn't know any better," Fin starts.
"Good thing you don't,"Olivia finished.
"Nice seeing y'all again," Elliot said as he gently closed the door.
"Y'all are trying to get them together," Elliot concludes from the strange behavior he saw earlier.
"Y'all? Who the hell are you Dolly Parton?" Olivia whispered into his ear.
"I'll explain over coffee" he told her as they entered the elevator.
"Yea we are. It would be about time for those two. Always flirting with each other to a point where it sickens us,"Casey remarks.
"And you said you had to go feed your fish? Case, that's stupid," Munch tells his friend.
"Whatever,"Casey grumbles..
Fifteen minutes later, Olivia and Elliot are sitting at their old favorite bar. They both had a mutual agreement that alcohol would be better appreciated. Before they even consider talking, Elliot has 2 beers; Olivia 1.
"Where the hell have you been?!" Olivia's anger comes out of nowhere.
"Charleston," Elliot reveals taking a long gulp of beer. She looks at him with disbelief,"Charleston? Virginia? What's possibly there that would want to make you leave your, friends, family…me," She speaks softly.
"No Charleston, South Carolina. I never wanted to leave you, I just needed to heal. Olivia, after Jenna, I woke up ever morning hating myself; wanting to die. How could I just live my life when a beautiful young girl was dead because of me? Then, I thought about all the reasons I needed to live and decided I was done feeling sorry for myself. And the reason I picked Charleston, South Carolina… I have no idea but I'm glad I did. It's beautiful there, it's like an earthy New York City. The people are so nice, you would think they were on drugs or something. They also eat a lot if seafood," Elliot explained. He always loved talking about the city, it saved his life. In his eyes, Charleston was one of the most beautiful cities he had ever seen.
"El, Can I ask you a question?" Olivia asks before telling the bartender to get her second beer.
"Of course."
"Did you decide to leave before or after we had…sex"
"I don't see how"
"Answer the question"
"Well…before"
"When did you leave?"
"June…30"
"And you expect me to believe you didn't think to mention you were moving the day after… we had sex! I can't even formulate enough words to cuss you out right now"
"Please don't be mad, Liv. You gotta believe me-,"
"I'm past mad. I'm hurt that you would do that to me. I'm ashamed that I would fall for your 'I'm in love with you' crap"
"Liv, please!"I am in love with you! Elliot's head screamed.
"No El let me finish! I'm humiliated that every time someone asks about my son's father there's a chance I would tell the truth and say I don't know"
"Luke's my son," He concludes hesitantly.
"Yes! And I'm so damn tired of pretending that I don't need you to be here for him. Brian has been there for us but, it just doesn't feel right, you know? Like when you're doing a puzzle and you're missing a piece, you go searching and searching until you suddenly give up. But when you're about to break the puzzle, this piece perfect shape but from a different puzzle shows up and you just place it in the missing slot out of desperation,"She looks over at him, amused at his confused expression and continues,"Did that make any sense or have you had too much to drink?"
"Neither. Since when did you become a modernized Plato?"
"Don't know. It was in there somewhere,"Olivia guesses.
"Are we going to keep avoiding this?"
"Identify 'this'?"
"You know," he accuses.
"No I don't. Elliot just tell me," She orders. There are so many things they're avoiding, she doesn't want to be wrong. She just wants to sit here and have a semi-descent conversation and play a game of catch up with her somewhat friend. Is that too much to ask?
"Marry me?" That wasn't a question, that was an order disguised as a suggestion. A crazy suggestion, he could have blamed it on the alcohol if this didn't work. Except he wasn't drunk.
"Excuse me?!"Olivia exclaims choking out the rest of her drink onto the passing bartender. The man looked at her in surprise and in disbelief but walked away not even wanting to accept her apology because he usually got stuff like that. "Whatever,"The man grumbled before walking away.
"We have to do right by Luke. That means we should get married" Elliot explains.
"No, I'm doing the right thing by loving, protecting, feeding, and clothing him. You can do the right thing by spending the time and helping me with Luke. And besides I don't know where I stand with Brian right now and I don't want to make it uncomfortable. And on top of that I'm still forgiving you and, I am relearning to trust you,"
"I'm sorry about that. I got carried away,"He chuckled now thinking about what just went on.
"Um it's ok. It was a sweet gesture… that caught me off guard,"She started to laugh with him.
"So Olivia, here comes the million dollar question. What has happened in the last five years?"Elliot asked.
"Wow. We're going to be here for a while,"Olivia answers.
This was so much better the first time but whatever it's ok. Just review for me and tell me what you think. And just I case you didn't ready my 1st rant, check out my story Wake-Up Call because I'm using it for my audition into this school my friend wants me to try-out for.(whatever gets her to shut up)
