Once upon a time...that's how all fairytales start, isn't it? And with that start, you know that the story will- should- have a happy ending. I'm not going to fool you people, this isn't one of those "and they lived happily ever after" type of stories. But let's not skip ahead of ourselves...let's start with the year they committed one of the seemingly worse "sins"...and the year they died.

Marseille, France- 1870

"Crystal blue skies, not a cloud in sight, milady. Your stable instructor wishes me to tell you that lessons will be held outside today."

"Ah, of course. Thank you, Yowane-san. You're dismissed."

The white haired maidservant bowed her head, her calloused, work ridden hands clasped together in front of her even as she scurried through the mahogany door of the Queen's bedchamber and gently shut it behind her.

Once the footsteps could no longer be heard echoing in the large, empty marble halls, the blonde slouched in the ornate golden chair currently situated in front of the bay window of her bedroom located at the back corner of her mansion on the hill. She knew that, if she felt like it, she could sit here in this very spot and, with her binoculars, spy on the people below her. But what was that needed for? It's not like she was a nosy evil Queen like her mother...

Groaning, the young lady straightened her posture once she felt the busk and whalebone of her corset scrape across her body. Just then, a soft knock came to the door and- after checking the time- she called out, "Come in, Len."

Hesitantly, the door opened and in slipped a blonde male servant, dressed in the classic- but not entirely required- yellow and white uniform. "You shouldn't call me like that so casually." he said smoothly, bowing slightly. "After all, I'm just a servant to you, dearest Rillane."

A moment of silence passed over the two before the slightly older blonde spoke.

"Is the door secured?" she asked softly, her eyes flickering from her servant's ever shimmering blue eyes that matched her own to the silver handle and keyhole of her room's door.

"Yes, Rin." the other purred, straightening himself even more so and subconsciously licking his lips.

With that, the Queen turned to draw the heavy, velvet curtains, only to be pulled back so suddenly by her dear servant and- as disgusting as some saw it- her only remaining family- her own twin. Thankfully, no one had noticed since the younger had gone on and changed his princely name to that of Allen- though he'd always been known by the family as Len.

No one suspected a single thing.

"I want to see all of you, Rinny~" he whispered in her ear, nibbling at the lobe softly. "I want to love all of you, if you'll allow me..."

"Len...!" Rin gasped, grabbing onto her brother's wrist just as it disappeared beneath the space of her light pink and cream bodice and matching layers of skirts, stays, and hoop skirt. And suddenly, she felt his unoccupied hand go to the back of her bodice, undoing the ties in a simply flick of his wrist before trailing kisses down the back of his lover's neck and between her frail shoulder blades while forcing the main bodice off and onto the floor.

"I have lessons soon..." she mumbled, blushing and tilting her head to the side to avert her eyes to her mirrored wardrobe- this only succeeded in making her blush deeper and she soon found herself just staring straight at the creamy golden and caramel brown tiles which gleamed up at her in the sunlight. Anything but to see how intimate she was being with her servant...with her brother. And while they had kissed each other in privacy more than once, she'd never really known her dear sibling to engage something this...this...adult so quickly, so suddenly.

"Mm..." with a small sigh, Len pulled back just the slightest, standing straight and resting his chin on her head of luscious blonde hair.

"And then we're to attend the masquerade at Kaito's home."

"Aren't I supposed to be the one reminding you of such things?" The blonde piped, raising an eyebrow though he knew his darling Rin couldn't see it.

The other reached an ivory hand to gently pat his cheek sympathetically. "Well, you seemed more preoccupied at the time, so I figured I should take it upon myself." she replied simply before pulling her hand back, kneeling down, and picking up her discarded bodice before Len once again opened his mouth to speak.

"But you do realize that dress you're wearing isn't appropriate riding attire, right?" he asked, receiving a sigh from the latter.

"You were always so much more prone to caring about such things than I was...and you still are." she teased, smirking in the slightest.

The younger blonde sulked slightly, muttering about how it didn't really matter and that she was going to be late if she didn't hurry before quickly grabbing the crimson, gold, and black riding habit that was hanging neatly in the large French wardrobe- the one his sister had been staring at earlier- and helping with the tightening of the corset- it only needed a small adjustment that Len had noticed, much to Rin's dismay- as well as the practical setting of her few layers of skirt before sending her off and neatly putting the previous dress make where it had been in the closet.

It seemed that years of their planning and building of a relationship would finally connect these two lovers in the most intimate way possible...and now if only the hands on the clock would hurry and pass...

After a rather short riding lesson, Rin washed herself of the horse hair and such- her fabric always seemed to attract her mare's white and grey flecked coat- before having one of her chambermaids help her into her dress for the nights event.

Once finished, Rin instructed the maid to leave her- admiring herself in the mirror quite vainly after the other had left. Smiling quietly, she twirled in her ruched, sapphire and emerald layered dress made of satin and lamé with a silver clasp at her hip- a small, and embarrassingly girlish laugh escaping from her lips.

The blonde paused a moment to tuck back a strand of loose hair, pulling the low bun she currently had it in just a bit tighter before running a hand over the plume of peacock feathers her maid had intricately almost woven into her hair.

"They really are elegant birds, aren't they?" The sudden voice caused the Queen to jump and swivel around in a flash, her hoop underneath the skirts continuing to sway even though she'd now stopped moving.

And with a small sigh, she walked over to her vanity table- just near her bed on the far left of the chamber- and picked up a sea foam green fan with golden brown accents. "It's rude to walk in on a lady." she said haughtily, though only her twin could've picked up on the teasing undertone she held.

"I knocked." he replied with a somewhat casual wave of his white, gloved hand. "You were just distracted. No matter, the carriage's arrived and I brought it upon myself to escort you, Your Highness." Len bowed lowly for a moment raising himself slightly and offering his hand to Rin. "Shall we?"

XxXxXxXxX

"I wonder if his parents set this up."

"From the letter he sent, it doesn't seem like it. His penmanship has always been...interesting." The two ladies laughed softly, mostly in pity for their dear friend.

"Well, he's due to take the throne soon- with his father being so ill...perhaps they recommended he should marry soon."

"Miku. Why on earth would he ask us to come to some courting dance. He both knows we're not fit to be wives...especially after he saw what you look like in the mornings..." The other cleared her throat slightly, taking on an odd accent. "'Rin, she reminds me of those trolls in the old stories!'"

"And like you're any better?" The tealette scoffed.

On a late received request, the twins- Len currently being the driver while his dear sister sat in the coach itself, the red velvet and gold fringed curtains drawn to allow just the smallest amount of moonlight in- took a small detour to pick up Miku Hatsune, a long time friend of the family- it seemed that the carriage they normally used had something wrong with the back set of wheels, not to mention one of the horses had managed to catch colic last minute.

So here they were now, a few minutes behind schedule with the young women lightly teasing each other as they had as children.

The two then returned to small talk, weather, how they hoped the night would go, etcetera, etcetera until they finally reached the mansion of their shared friend, all light up with lamps that caused the white stone to shimmer. And even though the carriage was just at the edge of the property, both could hear the music and laughter pouring out of the open windows and doors.

Soon, the carriage was in front of the bustling manor and the door opened to a young man with tied back brown hair who was bowing deeply before he stepped to the side, straightened himself and offered his hand to Miku as she was closer to the door.

"Welcome miladies." he said in an almost monotone voice as he helped the tealette in her dark- but not forest- green dress with lighter green and golden accents along the edges and trim with a small side hat to match.

"Thank you very much." Came the automatic reply from the two, though Miku started up the steps with another man as the younger female hitched up her heavy skirts a bit and turned to look at her lover.

"Go on," he said reassuringly, nodding. "Have fun and I'll be in in a moment, 'milady'" Len then waited until his twin nodded her understanding and started up the stairs after her friend before clucking the pristinely groomed white horses onward and towards the stables near the back of the estate.

As the blonde walked into the busy entry hall, she glanced around for a familiar shade of royal blue. And once she spotted it she quickly- but with a lady like flow and prance- walked towards the beacon like hair- politely waiting until its tall owner had finished speaking with some other young woman before speaking.

"This really is a nice party, Kaito." Rin spoke over the orchestral music reverberating throughout the hall.

"Ah, Rin, darling, how nice of you to come." The blue haired lord quickly turned his front to her, smiling that crooked, almost childish smile of his, almost causing her to frown as she realized how different it was from her servant's. "I'm sorry about the awkwardness, the parent's requested you and Miss Hatsune to attend.." The male rubbed the back of his head nervously, his natural Japanese accent slipping into his dialect for a moment. He seemed to notice and turned his head to clear his throat.

"It's no problem, Kaito. I've been wondering when we three were ever going to see each other again." The queen replied brightly, using her fan to cover her gentle smile. She faintly heard the clapping going on from the dance floor as the song that had been playing finished and some of the partners dispersed from the floor.

"Care for a drink, milady?" Kaito asked, extending his arm to the petite girl and watching her with a hint of amusement.

"Well of course, who would I be to deny such an offer from the future Lord of this fine estate?" she mused, taking her friend's arm and following next to him as they walked away from the mass of people and towards a small, temporary bar at the end of the room.

"What can I do for you master Kaito?" An older male asked, his hands already busy with handing out other requested drinks for the other guests.

"Two aperitifs please, Tanaka. Thank you."

And thus began the drinking...

XxXxXxX

Len honestly didn't mind Kaito as a person. But his stablehands and boys were a completely different story.

And since he didn't want to risk everything being ruined by these ignorant teens, he was forced to take care of the matters himself, thus resulting in him running late to assist his queen. Len Kagamine was not one to run late, obviously.

But as he walked into the hall, bowing to whichever nobility he saw who recognized him, he didn't catch a single view of his sister on the floor with a gentleman and instead saw her and her absolutely beautiful dress over by the bar- unescorted for that matter.

"Jesus..." The servant mumbled to himself, hurrying over to the makeshift bar only to find his young mastress giggling rather ridiculously, a glass of deep red liqueur in her shaky hand. "Mastress," The blonde placed a hand on Rin's shoulder, watching as she turned towards him and smiled- a new look he'd never seen before glinting in her eyes and and a light, pink blush spread over her normally pale cheeks.

"Ah, Len~ I'm sooo glad you've finally shown up- have you had alcohol before? No? Oh, darling, it's simply the best~!"

The now embarrassed servant glanced around nervously, his free hand ushering Rin away from the crowd- after forcing her to sit down her glass on the counter of course- and urging her to lower her voice as nearby nobility glanced over with raised eyebrows.

Once out of earshot of most people, Len began scolding his sister rather harshly. "This behavior is not lady like at all, Rin. Hell, why were you even over there?!" he asked, angrily. "Someone could've taken you and in your state you probably wouldn't of even known any better! What happened to talking to Kaito?!"

"Huh? Kaito...oh! He left with Miku...~ And Tanaka was so sweet, he wouldn't hurt me~! We just talked and taaalkeeedd...~" she squealed rather happily, ignoring the fact that her servant was trying to correct her.

Suddenly, he snapped and grabbed her wrist tightly and jerked it towards him. "Rillane, this behavior is completely unacceptable and will get you into trouble, do you understand me?" Len growled and grabbed her chin harshly in his free hand. "Look at me when I'm talking to you." His eyes were dark and slitted angrily, his entire body radiating tense energy. "You think that you can just waltz around without care in the world, like nothing bad'll ever happen. Well guess what, princess?"

"L-Len...you're hurting me...l-let go.."

"Evil is the only thing that exists in this world. And I am the only person protecting you from it- not Kaito, not Miku- me. And I think it is high time you start appreciating it." His voice had now dropped to a more sultry tone, but there was no doubting it- even in her drunken state- that he was beyond pissed off.

His slightly rough lips planted themselves on his twin's softer, smaller ones as he practically pushed her towards a wall on the other side of the room, maneuvering his tongue into her small mouth as her back hit the wall. He didn't even acknowledge the fact that his mastress was desperately trying to push him away and trying to turn her head away from him, he closed his own eyes to ignore the fact that tears were gathering on the edge of her long eyelashes until he finally had to pull away for air of his own and leaving them both with heaving chests and pants escaping their mouths.

It was when her shoulders began to shake and her hands immediately went to her face to cover her one bright eyes did he finally snap out of his anger.

"Rin-" he began, both his eyes and voice softening.

"No...n-no...I-" Rillane ducked her head, biting her lip hard and squeezing her eyes shut in attempt to stop herself from crying. And when Len backed up a bit, she took the chance to run back towards the door- albeit tripping over her heels in the process- before having her twin grab her arm once again, though it was a bit less forceful now as he dragged her towards himself and hugged her.

Though she didn't want to, Rin found herself sobbing into her sibling's dresscoat and clutching the fabric like a stubborn child. "L-let me go...y-you idiot...you stupid," Her fist smacked into his chest, though she was still sobbing. "Horrible," Punch "I-idiot...!" This time, Len grabbed her fist and stopped it, instead gently pressing his lips to the trembling skin.

"Rin, please, I just..." He hugged her tightly once more, rubbing her back soothingly before whispering softly in her ear, "I care about you too much to let you do such reckless things..."

"Len-" slowly, she glanced up- her eyes somewhat puffy and red from the tears- and froze as Len's lips once again pressed against her own, igniting a soft, slow fire inside her. "I love you..." she murmured against his lips.

It was no sooner that she said this that he had scooped her into his arms, pulling her legs up around his waist and gripping her hips while initiating another fiery kiss and moving towards the bed in the guest room they had stumbled into. Though he would've much rather done this is the privacy and comfort of his dear Rin's bedchamber, he supposed that with the party going on, all the servants would be preoccupied with other guests to care about bedchambers and two missing people.

The "servant" let go of his sister as the reached the bed and quickly climbed over her, hands on either side of her head as he leaned in for another, deeper kiss with some part of him aching in need once Rin moaned breathily into his mouth.

"Rillane..."

XxXxXxX

They probably would've never been found out if it hadn't been for those two. Kaito and Miku had been dancing the hours away, completely forgetting about their dear friend and her servant until the blue haired idiot had whisked the two of them away from the hall and down one of the long, forgotten corridors where the majority of balconies were.

Miku was giggling while her friend was smiling at how perfect the night seemed to be going, but everything stopped as they passed a slightly cracked door and heard a loud, feminine moan followed soon after by a more manly growl.

"No one's supposed to be down here..." Kaito murmured, ushering his love interest away from the door before peeking through the crack- only to freeze at the scene in front of him.

On the guest bed opposite of the door sat a young woman with her back completely bare, her long, slightly wavy, blonde hair tumbling down and almost touching the pristine white sheets that covered her hips though he could see the outline of her legs spread underneath the rumbled sheets that were shifting slightly with every small rock of her body.

"Aaah~! Mmmph! Oh..~" Kaito could only watch as the young woman threw her head back, shoulders heaving and trembling as she let out her sounds of pleasure. But what caught his eye most was the crumpled dress on the floor and the single peacock feather in the woman's hair. Bloody hell...

"M-Miku...let's just head back to the party, alright?" The blue haired prince stuttered, grabbing the tealette's hand before dragging her back towards the ballroom- his face a deep, crimson red the entire way back with Miku pestering him about why he was so flustered and this pestering combined with the nagging from his parents as they walked back into the main hall is what eventually caused him to crack.

-Meanwhile-

Rin gripped the headboard of the bed tightly, still rocking her hips intensely with her eyes shut in sheer embarrassment at the lewd noises escaping her mouth. "Ahn..!" she felt her body shudder and all her muscles clench and tighten at once as her own blood relative groaned his pleasure, his hands digging into her petite waist as he thrusted up into her. This pleasure was too much for her to handle, she felt like a rubber band* pulled to its very limit, about to snap and crash into some godforsaken place. "Len~"

She shuddered again as Len sat up a bit, pressing against some damned spot- dare she even think it- inside her. This accompanied with his hot, needy touches groping everywhere he could and his lips kissing every patch of skin he could find, occasionally nipping at her collarbone or in between her breasts.

The servant groaned as his Queen tightened around him and her free hand pulled at the back of his hair. "T-too...aahh...m-much..! Nnn~"

"Sshh.." he soothed with a deep, rumbling voice. They were both simply moving by instinct and what felt good, and though they were committing a sin, this felt right in every single way.

Finally, Rin snapped first- that rubber band flinging out of control and tightening every muscle in her body, making her freeze and throb around him while she moaned, gasped and chanted his name under her breath- her eyebrows furrowed and her chanting increasing as Len snapped from those beautiful noises slipping out of that petite, seemingly innocent mouth.

It wasn't a moment after that the door to the "borrowed" guest bedroom was rammed open by none other than the prince's parents and owners of the home.

"You spawns of satan! Out of my home! How dare you do such things in another person's home, you despicable orphans!" The two barely had time to gather their clothes and Rin only just managed to grab her dress and clutch the sheets around her body as she was yanked by her hair out of the room and soon dragged off by Len who was focusing on the door- completely dressed in his uniform. "You slut! You nasty whore-!"

Len scooped his still slightly drunken and stunned twin up in his arms as he ran towards the barn where the horses were already waiting, and not wasting a moment as the gossip spread throughout the grounds he simply sat the queen next to him in the coach seat and urged the horses into a fast gallop off the grounds.

Only when they were halfway home did he slow the horses to glance at his shivering lover, shrugging off his dress coat and laying it over her shoulders before grabbing the reins and continuing the quiet ride home.

XxXxXxX

After the incident, Rin was ostracized by everyone- cut off from the social outings she had enjoyed- and eventually she lost even the respect of her servants who slowly dwindled away, bundle by bundle- eventually leaving her and Len to run the estate.

She was no longer a Queen in society's eyes- she was only a dirty slut who had deemed her soul to hell for eternity.

Slowly, she lost contact with her dear friends and effectively cut off from all contact with the world outside of her broken, silent manor.

For a while she was fine with it, and refused to realize that everything was gone. It only hit her when the horses started dying off, with her beloved mare she had owned since she was five and had practically raised from a foal. And that was when she went downhill, sometimes not talking for days on end- refusing to eat or drink for what seemed like weeks.

Eventually she was nothing but a motionless shell who was always staring out the window, part of her breaking down every single day like the walls of her manor.

He was still there for her during it all, still talking to her even when she wouldn't reply- constantly worrying about his dear lover's deteriorating mental health. But eventually he had to leave her side, he would've dragged her along with him to do shopping for their meals in the town a few, long walking miles away, though everytime he tried, all she would do was sit or stand there, looking even more depressed than she did in the solitude of her home.

Len remembered coming home to silence- which was normal- but this felt...different...that gnawing feeling in his gut persisted and grew stronger as he walked upstairs. He remembered opening that cold, now always closed door and finding her laying there in her own blood- the letter opener from her vanity dresser driven deep into her chest.

He couldn't even bring himself to cry as she picked up her body like he had running from the manor a year ago and slowly walked out of the home. He shouldn't of even bothered with those groceries...

His mind was blank as he stood on the cliff over looking the sea, he knew the water was freezing and for a moment he wondered if she'd be bothered by it.

"I'm so sorry...my Rin..." And he clutched the bloody body to his own before diving head first, a short, sharp pain hitting his head and resounding through his body before it went black...now...it was finished.

A/N: Yay for character death! I'm so sorry this took me forever to finish you guys but, jeez...this was a really long chapter to write and think of since I've been working on this story for- what- a year or so now...? But anyway, I hoped you all enjoyed it and though I want to please you all- I will not be posting the next chapter until I am completely finished and content with it~

*Fun fact: Rubber bands were patented by a Stephen Perry in England on March 17th, 1835- I actually looked this up in order to figure out if Rin could've made the comparison between her muscles and rubber bands...~ So yeah, the more you know about my writing process~ ^^
