Chapter IIIV

"I'm scared!" Wendy cried. She heard of Phantom lord, but didn't remember them being this strong. Didn't Fairy Tail take down the whole guild? What's happening? Where is Gajeel? Most of the guild was quiet, with the exception of Natsu, who expressed his fiery rage through…fire. Lucy tried to calm him, but they can understand. First they were manipulated into thinking Gajeel was with them, then they were ambushed, then they kidnapped Gajeel. They ended up sending their strongest mages after José. Mirajane and Makarov activated the communication lacrima. "Anything, Gildarts?"

"Nothing," He growled, kicking a nearby boulder and shattering it, "They wouldn't even fucking talk, those motherfuckers are too loyal for their own good."

"Mmm," Makarov thought for a minute. He knew Laxus was already at Phantom Lord's guild. He contacted him, "Laxus, do you have any—"

He lifted up a tattered red scarf. Makarov was confused, and eventually Mira asked, "Is that...his?"

"He was here. José took him and left. Bitch left too much evidence behind." He opened the door to reveal the surveillance room. The cameras showed everything, even their guild. "I know where he is."

"Y-you do!?"

"Of course I do, what, am I stupid? It's fucking obvious."

"Then TELL US!" Makarov excitedly and angrily grabbed the lacrima, making his grandson laugh.

"Gramps," He sighed, "That is not of your business." With that, the conversation had ended, sending them back to Gildarts, looking at the master as though he had three eyes. "The fuck's up with you?"

Makarov began thrashing out, terrifying the entire guild. Mira cringed. "Gildarts, for now, we need you to find Laxus. He's keeping the mission to himself."

"What the hell did Gajeel do to him that makes him wanna do that?" He scratched his head. It was as though the intense damage around him weren't caused by him. Mira had a wild guess, but she was too confused by it, "I'm not sure, it's really all of a sudden," she ducked dodging an incoming chair, "But he really did a number to those Phantoms. Maybe he's involved in this somehow."

"Maybe."

They ended there. She turned around to find everyone silent. "Huh?" She lept over the bar and to the stunned crowd, "What's going on guys?" She froze. The door was kicked down once more, and the daylight that shined in the fairies' faces made the man at the door a shadow. It was a very tattered shadow. He looked up, and they finally saw his eyes. Levy slowly closed the book, dropped it, and made his way towards him. "….Gajeel?"

His eyes did not move.

The shorter girl reached out for him, slowly, carefully, soon caressing his face. She quietly gasped, "Is…is it really you?"

He looked like a true zombie. His mouth and his nose revealed dry blood and his skin was so pale a child could mistake him for snow. His clothes were rendered fragile and a single tear could render the shirt more useless than already. She moved to his lips. He was having trouble breathing? When she felt his cheeks…they felt wet. Levy looked at his eyes. His eyes…they're…"Blue?" He shot his eyes down at her, so fast only Erza noticed.

"Levy, MOVE!"

Gajeel knocked her, hard, on her side to the wall destroying a piece. There was a loud snap no one could miss. She was unconscious. They quickly turned their attention back to Gajeel. He turned his head to a side and twitched an eye. He lifted up and arm. Natsu jumped from the crowd, "HOW FUCKING DARE YOU!"

Gajeel knocked him back into the crowd with his iron pole. He was down for the count. Mira looked at him; there was a brace on his neck. What was that? It glowed, showing a blinking, green light, and there was a soft buzzing noise coming from it that no one could quite make out.

"Nice touch on the blue haired one, Gajeel. Put those fairies in their place."

Gajeel walked towards her. Elfman stood in front of both Mira and Lissana. "Don't even think about it Gajeel!"

He slowly walked up to the muscular man and looked him in the eyes. They couldn't be read. They couldn't be seen through. He was truly a mad man once more—only this time worse. Gajeel took his shirt and lifted him in the air. The two girls shrieked and coward to the corner as Elfman was thrown across the guild. His arms slowly turned to iron, and the rest of them prepared for a battle that might as well just be a beating. "Where the hell is Laxus!?"

He stopped.

They stopped.

"What are you doing, IDIOT!?"

The collar around his neck created a huge vibration and emitted electricity, which shocked Gajeel. He made a loud, piercing scream, then shook his head and swung two iron poles at the incoming Gray and Juvia. They landed behind the bar, onto the communication lacrima, accidentally activating it. Gildarts answered it;

"Yo? What's going on, Juvia?"

"Owah… Juvia is hurt…Gildarts?" She looked at the lacrima and ducked down so no one could see her, "Gildarts-san, we're in trouble! Gajeel-kun is here!" She whispered, loud enough so he could hear.

"In trouble? Gajeel's there? I'm confused, what the hell?"

"Gajeel-kun came back…but he's attacking us! Juvia has no idea what's wrong with Gajeel-kun; he just attacked Juvia and Gray-sama!" She sulked. Gildarts cringed at the sound of Makarov screaming.

"WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING!?" Makarov reached a giant hand out for him and grabbed his body, lifting him up in the air. Gajeel screamed and struggled, even started biting in attempt to break free, but Makarov wouldn't budge.

"Ah! Makarov has Gajeel!" the water mage said as she put the lacrima on the counter. Gildarts was surprised to see Gajeel kicking and screaming. He bit down on the giant thumb so hard he pierced his skin, and before he could tear a piece off, Makarov let go. Gajeel dropped to the flood and immediately got back up. Electricity ran through him, and his master. Makarov was sent flying. "Don't let it happen again."

Gajeel spit the blood out of his mouth and went for Bisca, who had he gun on him the whole time. He tore it apart with his mouth and grabbed her hand, twisting it. He took the gun from his mouth and slammed it on her arm. A loud snap could be heard miles away. Alzak Jumped to her aid, but was immediately smacked away with the other half of the gun. Erza scarlet told everyone to retreat back to the basement, which they all quickly did, until Erza was knocked to the ground with another iron pole. Gajeel held a sword from his arm to her throat. Cana saw this and ran back to him, attempting to use her card magic on him. The cards surrounded him, but were shocked along with Gajeel to the ground. He stood back up, glaring at her, and grinning, widely. He'd truly gone insane.

Cana was knocked on her side, through the building and outside the guild hall. Gajeel stepped through the rubble, and swiftly tossed her further. He walked over to her and bent down so she could hear:

"Stay out of my way."

"WHAT THE FUCK!" Gildarts shouted so loud it was as though he were there. Juvia jumped at the sudden scream and fell back behind the counter. She got up to say something, but the lacrima stopped. He's on his way. "Cana-san…Gildarts-san…Gajeel-kun?"

"That son—"

"Of a fucking—"

"BITCH!"

Both Laxus and Gildarts ran into each other. They got up, groaned, rubbed their heads, and glared at each other. "Gildarts? What the hell?"

"What are you doing keeping this shit to yourself!?" Gildarts screamed, "My daughter is in there, hurt, because of your "business"! What IS that?"

Laxus looked at the red scarf. He turned to the guild when he heard a loud shriek. "A panacea. Stay out of my way old man."

"Your way? NO, you stay out of MY way! Your silence is getting people killed in there; one of them just might be my daughter! If you had fucking said something before, none of this would happen! Gajeel wouldn't have been kidnapped, the guild wouldn't be TRASHED, and José would be gone, Laxus! None of this is your business, LAXUS. You can't solve this by yourself!"

There was a short moment of silence before Gildarts headed for the guild. Laxus froze. He didn't know what to say. He looked down at the "panacea" and back at the angry man. That's it—he had enough. He's not waiting for another hero. Laxus pulled on his cape almost tearing it off. "This isn't my business!"

"My fucking point exact—!"

"It's Gajeel's business! He's the one that told me everything that happened to him! I'M the one that knows what's wrong with him, not you! ...Gajeel is being abused by that man—I saw it with my own eyes! I saw him get hit, I saw him…If you think this has nothing to do with me, your fucking wrong! I promised, no I swore to him that I would keep him safe, and I'm GOING in there to keep that promise! Stay out of MY way!" Laxus proceeded to the guild, leaving behind the shocked man.
