Sandra stared sadly, leaning on the front door frame. There was her young boy, heading down the city streets, leaving on an adventure without her. She'd have to stay strong. After all he had promised he'd come home often. But still... She hoped he had everything he needed for the trip.
Susa was nearly skipping with joy, though that would've been hard to do with his loaded down backpack. His mom had packed him 3 changes of clothes, breakfast, lunch, and dinner for two days, and a first aid kit. And not the slim kind, the kind that came with a defib unit. He struggled under the weight, but his excitement kept his speed up. Soon he came upon the local train station, people rushing in and out among their daily business. Susa pushed his way into the crowd. He looked at the ticket that came with his invitation to Oak's lab. It said train 3F. He looked around among the different letter and number combinations and saw the one he wanted. Each was a tunnel that led to a railway for a train.
He went for 3F tunnel, the roar of the crowd dying out as he went into a smaller and less crowded area. He followed the tunnel for a bit, and it exited into a large railway station. A man stood by the entrance.
"Ticket please." He said, obviously bored. A magnemite hummed quietly beside him. Susa handed him the ticket, and he put it in front of a small monitor on the wall. The magnemite did a slight discharge on the monitor, and it flashed a red light on the pass. It made a loud beep, and the man waved Susa past, tearing up the ticket and throwing it into a bin full of torn tickets.
"You're good to go." He said, never having even looked at Susa.
As he stepped onto the platform, he saw two other kids about his age waiting there. No one else was around except the ticket taker and his magnemite.
One of the kids had on a black shirt with yellow writing saying "Gamer", and blue jeans. He had blond hair and blue eyes. He didn't seem to interested in Susa, but nodded in his direction. The other was a girl with long black hair and brown eyes. She wore a white jacket over a red shirt, with black shorts on.
"Uhhh, hi." Susa said to the girl, as she hadn't seemed to notice him yet. Her head whipped around in surprise.
"Oh, sorry, I spaced out!" She said, then looked between me and Mr. Gamer Shirt. "Uhhh, are you here to start your journey as well?"
Susa nodded, as did Gamer. "Name's Susa" He said, as he extended his arm.
She shook it, "Nia."
Gamer spoke up at this point. "Keith." And he shook Susa's hand as well. He seemed really relaxed and at ease compared to Nia and Susa.
At that moment, the train arrived, so they all piled on. It was a fairly quiet ride, for everyone, even Keith, was excited. Susa watched as the scenery rolled by fast. This train was powered by magnets, which were powered by magnemites, so it was going extremely fast. The scenery was a blur, and Susa figured they were near 90 MPH.
Soon enough, the train slowed to a stop, Pallet Town. The three new trainers piled out. Susa had ditched one pair of clothes and a few of the over the top items in the first aid kit, so it was a bit lighter. However, he was still last in to the professors lab, near the entryway to the city.
Keith was already talking to the professor, and Nia was standing patiently to the side. As Oak noticed Susa, his eyes lit up.
"Now that you're all here, we can begin. Who will we start with?" He said.
"First for what?" Susa asked.
"Picking our starters." Keith said, then looked toward Nia. "Ladies first."
"Yeah." Susa agreed. He'd been raised with manners.
She walked forward towards the table with three pokeballs on it. She looked at the varies ones, and picked up one at random. She pressed the button, and with a flash of red, a small blue pokemon, with strange orange marking and a grey hardened head.
"BAY!" It called. "BAGON!"
Nia's eyes widened. "A dragon-type..." She whispered to herself.
"Is this your choice?" Professor Oak asked. She just nodded, and returned the pokemon to it's ball. "OK, who's next?" Oak asked, turning to Susa and Keith.
Keith turned to Susa. "I'm cool with whatever, so go ahead."
Susa shook his head. "No, you got here first, so go ahead." As much as he wanted to go first, Keith had been a cool guy, and should get to pick.
Keith shrugged, and walked up to the table. He grabbed both of them and pressed both buttons.
Two pokemon popped out. One was a light blue with orange cheeks. It hopped around a bit, and had a fin for a tail. The second was a light green with a darker orange stomach.
Professor Oak spoke up, "Mudkip is the blue one, a water type. The green one is Larvitar a Rock type."
The mudkip sniffed the larvitar which flinched at the water type. Then the mudkip hopped over to Keith and sniffed it's shoe. Keith bent down and picked it up.
"I'll name him Garth." Then he looked at Susa. "What will you name your new Larvitar?"
Susa bent down next to the larvitar, which quickly ran and hid behind Professor Oaks leg. "Uhh, Shy Guy?" He said, chuckling. "Or... how about Guy?"
"Guy?" Nia spoke up. "How about you just name him 'Dude'?" She asked sarcastically.
"Hey, you can't talk, yours doesn't even HAVE a name yet!" Susa said, getting defensive.
"Ye-Yes I do! It's... uhh, Jake?" She said, uncertainly.
Susa just laughed. Keith spoke up. "OK, enough flirting, lets test these guys out!"
Nia opened her mouth to tell Keith off when she stopped at the words test. "Yeah," She said. "Come on, Jake! Let's show 'em!"
"Outside!" Professor Oak exclaimed.
We all rounded up our pokemon. While doing this, Susa noticed Guy was actually a girl... He shrugged. Oh well, not a huge deal, he'd heard of girls named Guy before... just very rarely.
They headed outside for the battle, but as soon as he let go of Guy, she hid behind his leg, and wouldn't go near the other pokemon. Sighing, Susa accepted that he'd have to sit this one out. He watched the fight, and in no time, Keith and Garth had won. Keith was a good trainer. He forsaw what Nia was planning, and had directed Garth with swift and clear instructions. To be fair, Garth was a good pokemon. He could tell Keith knew what he was talking about and followed his directions without a second thought.
Nia on the other hand, was still green, and it showed much more. She told Jake to do a flamethrower at one point despite obviously not being equipped to handle such a command. However she held up well, and her pokemon tried it's hardest.
They all decided to head up to the next city together, and Nia and Keith fought a bunch while Susa tried to get Guy to be less scared. It didn't work. When they reached the city, they said there goodbyes and goodlucks. Susa went straight to the pokemart and grabbed 10 pokeballs with some of the money his mom gave him, then got a room for the night at the pokemon center.
He let Guy out of her pokeball as he sat on the bed. She ran and hid behind a chair leg.
"Come on!" Susa said gently to her. "I won't bite." Slowly, but surely, she took a step towards the bed, then another. Soon, she was sniffing him. He picked her up, which freaked her out at first, but she calmed as Susa dropped her onto the bed. He laid down on his side and quickly fell asleep.
Guy went over and sniffed his sleeping form, then curled up into a ball next to him.
"This... This might not be so bad..." She said, before drifting off.
AN: It's not a nuzlocke without talking pokemon! She was shy before.
So I was originally waiting for someone to say which starter I should get, but then I got a randomizer and said "Screw it". Now here we are!
Question for you reviewers. Which pokemon do you hope to see? I can't control what I get, I'm just curious. I'm hoping for an Umbreon. (You have no idea)
