"Allow time and slow. We're almost home." Maya ordered, and instantly space had color again.
A sudden jolt sent her ship spinning towards the center of the galaxy, and she only had just enough time to get it back in control.
"Spiff! Do you hear me?" She yelled over the intercom, but a deadly quiet answered her question.
She cursed under her breath, and fumbled with the code for who she sent the message to, while locating her radar on Spiffs's ship and heading towards it.
"Mayday! Mayday! Its going to affect all of Earth!" She yelled, turning off all of her lights and, finding that her glove had slipped off, proceeded to lift the seat until she saw the light reflect on a purple stone.
She pulled the glove on, and paused time.
"I have centered my radar on you. Coming. I hope you'll thank me for this." An annoyed voice came over the radar.
"Ice, stop being like that when Earths fate rests upon our shoulders!" Maya snapped as she sped through the frozen darkness.
"Hello? Is there anyway we can help Calvin?" A different voice crackled over the intercom, this one slightly deeper and sounding a bit less feline.
"I see you have company." Maya responded as she darted under a meteor. "And if we can keep going at this pace we can catch up and bomb the ship that took Calvin to death after turning time back moving again." She added.
"Awfully risky, not?" The deeper voice said.
"Yes, Hobbes, I see you're still a safety freak." Ice said, sounding even more annoyed.
"After the accident..." Hobbes protested.
"That was one thousand years ago by now. Stop worrying about something that happened when you were true." Maya said quietly, focusing her cannons onto the huge ship in front of them. "But that boy remembers things he shouldn't, and hes going to be greater than the alter egos he found within himself, that he now is." She added, her voice deadly with quiet.
"No! He can't remember! Its not even possible!" Ice told her friend, and although Maya could not see them, her eyes were flaming with anger.
"Then how are you here? How am I still here? How do his alter egos exist? No reason. No reason possible in this world." Maya retorted, her ship almost scraping the side of a lager ship.
"Maya! Get away from my ship!" Ice snapped.
"Your voice is still feline, yet somehow you are human." Maya continued.
"Stop it!"
"You tell me to stop, yet you want this to happen."
"No!"
"You are real."
"I can't be!"
"How long has it been?"
"Stop...please."
"You are real, Ice. Live up to your fears. You're just as human as the humans, yet you are a leopard."
"I'll try, friend. But I keep forgetting what you are." Ice said quietly, gulping.
"I'm unfreezing time in one..." Maya began.
"Two..." They released their cannon shells.
"Three." Time unfroze, and the ship in front of them turned into a fireworks display.
A small red spaceship fell out of the hold just as the entire ship vanished.
"I'm going out. Prepare for emergency help." Maya ordered.
She made it so that a chain shot out of the side of her ship and attached to Ice's, then she pulled open a trapdoor under her seat, then dropped into an airlock.
She pulled it shut, and watched as rubber sealed it, making it airtight, then pulled on the spacewalker suit(Astronaut suit), and opened a not quite as tight door in the bottom, after picking up the other spacewalker suit.
She drifted through space, twisting as much as possible to get to the red spaceship, then broke her way in and managed to get the unconscious Spiff into the suit, then pulled him out after attaching his spaceship to hers.
She got into the airlock of Ice's ship, and got ot of the suit, pulled Spiff out of the suit, and then wen't up with the possibly dead Spiff under her arm.
How many times have I had to redo this? How many times have I gone back to redo what I did wrong? Why am I trying to save the planet that I cannot call my own? Why is it that I was about to die? Why is it...that I feel so human sometimes?
