The Broken Point – Chapter 2: Getting back to Class

-Underground Facility: SMHI – 3 years after the "Red Pulse" Incident-

"Hokage-sama? Are you sure the boy is ready?" asked a concerned Dr. Ichihara, as he and Konoha's leader; the Hokage, Sarutobi Hiruzen, were walking down a shadowed corridor.

Sumishi Ichihara was a relatively tall man with a slim build and brown straight hair framing his face and reaching his lower shoulders in length. He wore a simple outfit; consisting of a grey button-up shirt, grey straight pants and a standard white lab coat.

Hiruzen sighed, "Yes, he should be okay to interact with other children his age; as long as he keeps the sealing bandages on, the "Red Pulse" won't be able to kill those around him..." the Kage though for a moment, "I hope."

Ichihara sighed. He knew that the boy would have to go out eventually, but he still couldn't help but be worried for his patient... the boy who had been placed in his care after the "Red Pulse" Incident, that had put him in here, after about a year, as he was one of maybe 5 people within the SMHI unit that could approach him without the seals that restrain the "Red Pulse", as everyone called it, and not get killed.

The doctor and Kage reached a steel door, labeled: "SN: 0183 / MS: Bipolar / CML: Variable / Name: Naruto Uzumaki.

Ichihara approached the door, unlocking it with a seal inscribed key that identified the lock and the chakra signature of the holder. The door's lock clicked and the heavy door slowly inched its way open.

The inside was dark, only lit up by an eerie red glow, a heavily clothed boy, no older than eleven, being the center of the glow. He was surrounded by books, scrolls among various other written texts lying all around the room; some with pictures, some with notes on different subjects, and others written in unknown languages.

The boy, known by some as "Red Pulse", had a wild mane of crimson hair that reached down to his knees in the back while standing up, barely reaching to his calves in the front. He wore a light grey, strait-jacket – arms unclasped so he could still move – which was by all means a few sizes too big, with a collar that reached up to cover his face, concealing his face. He also wore a pair of baggy pants that were a slightly darker grey than his jacket, with a number of different pockets around his calves and a belt with a two green-grey pouches in the front, and four similar ones in the back. What was highly peculiar about the boy was that he had bandages with multiple seal matrixes covering his entire body, only leaving his right, sky blue eye visible to others. His blue eye gleamed with a red shine as it looked up to his visitors.

"Sumishi-san... Hokage-jiji? What are you doing here?" the boy said with an uncertain glint in his eye.

"Naruto-kun, I'm here to offer to let you out. Do you accept?" the old man asked smoothly.

The boy looked on for a moment before a small grin came to him under his collar, "And? There has to be a catch, right?" he said with barely restrained mirth.

"Yes, there is," the elderly Kage answered with a chuckle, "You'll have to become a Shinobi, but first, I'll have you go through the Ninja Academy's last year, the year you would've been in now if not for the... 'incident'," Hiruzen said with a small cringe at the last word.

"Yeah, yeah, and... no killing anyone, except for an unprovoked attack or a mission objective, I presume?" the young boy asked casually, grin still in place.

"hmm... yes, that would be correct, but if possible, try not to kill if you are attacked... just... scare them off, or put them to sleep, alright?" the Kage asked, gaining a nod from the bandaged child.

"I'll promise to try, at least," he said with small bow from his seated position.

"I guess that's the best I'll get, eh?" he sighed, "let's get going. I'll have to make arrangements, but that will be taken care of quickly," he said as he turned to walk out, the boy getting up and following the old man into the world once more.

-A considerable time later – at the academy-

"Alright class, settle down!" said the tanned, scarred Chunin with a brown pineapple hair-style as he walked into class with a folder in hand.

He got a tick-mark as his class did as it usually did and didn't quiet down. "SHUT UP AND SIT DOWN!" sounded the enraged voice of the Chunin as he engaged what many students called the "Big-head-no-jutsu" as his head became just that; big.

This action instantly quieted the class down to absolute silence, only broken by the occasional squeaking of chairs and floorboards. Satisfied, the Chunin started the day off.

"Alright kids, today we have a new student coming to class, but I think it's be better if he introduces himself," he said as the door slid open to reveal a boy, the same age as the students in the classroom, with red hair cascading down his grey clothed body, he stood at a height of 4" 11', with bandages covering his left eye and his grey collar covering his lower face.

"Hello," the boy said with a nostalgic glint in his eye and a genuine smile under his collar. He remembered quite a few of the faces in the rows of the desks, two especially sticking out in his eyes; one Sasuke Uchiha, his unwilling rival in the academy, and the second was the Hyuga heiress, Hinata Hyuga, probably the only person in the whole class at the time that cheered him on, although his young foolish mind didn't quite pick up on it at the time, and as has often been said; Hindsight is a Bitch!

He walked in, gaining a few curious glances from just about everyone in the class, even the ever stoic Uchiha and Aburame were paying attention to him. The redhead stopped in the middle of the classroom and turned to the class.

"It's been a long time, everyone," he said, confusing the rest of the class.

"eh? What the hell do you mean?!" an Inuzuka boy stated with narrowed eyes. He had rough brown hair, slit black eyes and the markings that set him as an Inuzuka. He wore a grey fur-lined coat with a hoodie, with black pants and a puppy hanging from the opening in his coat.

"Oh, come now, Kiba, it's only been three years," the boy stated, earning a confused murmuring from the rest of the class. This earned a sigh from the grey clad boy, seriously, how forgetful were kids? Hell he actually remembered a third of the people in here, most of which being pretty important clan members.

"Well, Iruka-sensei, if you would lend me your back for a moment? I need to have an impromptu history session," the boy said, looking over at the Chunin instructor who threw a confused glance at him, but complied without complaint, figuring that it couldn't hurt.

The boy walked up to instructors back and pointed a bandaged finger at the red symbol on his back, the red swirl. "Can anyone tell me what this symbol is?" Naruto asked the class, to which he got no answer, even Iruka was confused at this point, "This is a symbol of trust from a fallen Shinobi village, the hidden village of the whirling tides, or Uzoshiogakure. They had a clan there, they were all sealing masters, and they were blessed with longevity and large amounts of chakra, only rivaled by the Senju clan of Konoha. The Senju clan was in fact its cousin, separated by a few hundred years. The symbol that all Chunin and Jounin bear on their backs is this clan's symbol; and this clan helped in the founding of Konoha. Now, the name of this clan is..." the boy paused for dramatic effect, "can anyone guess?" he teased with a non-visible grin, causing a majority of the class to face vault.

The timid Hyuga in the back hesitantly raised her hand after a moment, gaining a look from the redhead at the front of the class. With a glance he seemed to be trying to encourage her to speak. "A-ano... t-the U-Uzumaki...?" she answered/asked.

"Yes, Hinata-hime!" the grey clad Cyclops exclaimed happily, making the pale-eyed beauty blush at the affectionate suffix, "Exactly right! The Uzumaki clan! So has anyone finally figured it out!?" the blue-eyed boy jovially asked with a happy whirl and flailing of his arms.

He got his answer in the form of multiple eyes widening and a few jaws dropping as they finally figured it out. Iruka who had turned around again was wide-eyed... that piece of history should have been mentioned at some point! This clan had co-founded the village with the Uchiha and Senju clans! So why was this never mentioned?!

"So, you got it?" he rhetorically asked, "Good, but for those who didn't, let me properly introduce myself," he said as he slowly pulled down the zipper of his grey jacket, just enough to reveal a maniacally grinning face, with tanned skin and a set of whisker marks on the cheeks, "one Uzumaki Naruto, at your service," he said in a slithering tone and a mock bow, the grin never leaving his face for a moment.

'Naruto-kun... I knew you were alive,' thought a blushing Hinata. It had been a long time since she had lasts seen the object of her affections, but her feelings hadn't waned. He may have changed in his appearance and demeanor, but deep down... he was still the blonde knucklehead that she admired.

"Hn... so the Dobe is back," said the last loyal Uchiha, Sasuke, with a small smirk.

"Why, yes I am, Teme," said the Uzumaki, the grin in place, "and it appears as if we have more in common than we thought, and... sorry for your loss," he said solemnly, as he lost the manic grin and put on a sad smile while looking at his rival.

"Yeah, just don't pity me Dobe," the Uchiha shot back. "Same to you Teme," the Uzumaki responded in kind with his manic grin back in place.

The rest of the class simply watched the two interact, some with a nostalgic twinge as the two would do this back when their Academy years were starting, although... Naruto would be a lot more hyperactive and Sasuke would be a lot colder, which would lead to a minor brawl on occasion.

Naruto scanned the room and his lone orb lingered on a few individuals from time to time as some of the students chattered here and there.

"Alright, just a general rule when it comes to me; don't lie, especially not to yourselves, I can easily tell if you are," the crimson haired boy announced.

This caused a bit of a stir in the class; just who was Naruto? Everyone remembered a happy-go-lucky kid that always defied the rules and beat the odds, the underdog that would rise up against everything. But this guy... he just seemed... eerie, somewhat creepy, and, from what they could tell, slightly insane. Whatever happened to him... he definitely changed; for better or worse.

"Anyway..." he paused and swiveled his head around to the Chunin, "Don't we have a day to get to?" the boy asked sarcastically.

"H-hai," responded the chunin, "just go get a seat somewhere," said a shell-shocked Iruka.

"Alright!" Naruto responded happily as he disappeared in a red blur, only to crash into the wall beside the ever so innocent Hyuga, whose default response was to 'eep' in surprise.

"..." everyone stared at the redhead. The wall had a sizeable dent in it, even if it was made of wood, it was slightly disconcerting.

"O-oww..." Naruto groaned, "I really need to get used to moving again..." he muttered to himself as he crawled over to the seat next to Hinata and climbed up on the chair next to her; sitting in something akin to the fetal position, with his single blue eye shaded by his crimson hair as it looked around with a calculating gaze.

Iruka looked on with a raised eyebrow. He shrugged it off as a weird quirk and went on. "Alright class, today we'll start with some history on the Kage. Starting with our Shodaime Hokage..."

-A couple of hours later-

"Alright class, you can go for lunch," announced a weary Iruka to a somewhat pensive class. The time since Naruto had showed up had been highly confusing to the Chunin and the class. "Be back here in one hour," the confused man added.

Naruto surprisingly had an extreme amount of knowledge about Kage history, even knowing some classified abilities that the Hokages had, such as Hashirama-sama's Sage Mode, Tobirama-sama's Fuinjutsu Mastery, Knowing that Hiruzen-sama had mastered over a hundred jutsu and that Minato-sama mastered a Fuinjutsu that Tobirama created; the Hiraishin, which allowed him to teleport to a sealing formula with a small application of chakra and a mere thought.

The class started ambling out with a lot to discuss about; whether what Naruto said was true or not, which many believed that it was; heck, he had even provided a diagram to show how the Sage Mode worked! But what confused them the most was the answer he provided when asked where he gained all of this knowledge. He told them that he had been locked up for THREE years! And gave no further answer, saying that it was a village secret as to why or where he was.

Naruto looked to his left to see the raven-haired girl fidgeting and trying to hide her blush inside her jacket while stealing glances at him. He smirked a bit; because that to him was the cutest thing he had ever seen. "Should we go outside as well Hinata-hime?" Naruto asked gently, snapping her out of her internal conflict. Hinata looked over to him with a huge blush that covered her whole face.

"I-I'd-d lo-love to N-Naruto-kun," Hinata squeaked out with a smile, but on the inside she was practically beaming. Her crush was actually talking to her! Before he disappeared, he didn't really pay attention to her, so now seeing him being so caring for her... it made her feel very faint.

Naruto smiled a genuine smile at her. Hinata saw the genuine smile that she loved to see on his face, along with his lone blue eye looking into her own with what amounted to a pool of calming blue light. Moments later... she fainted.

Naruto sighed as he caught her before she could fall back. He could do with the blushing and occasional stammering in shyness; but he would have to do something about the fainting.

Naruto shrugged and moved around so he could put the girl on his back and started carrying her outside. As he was carrying her, she snuggled into his red mane of hair, making him chuckle at the sensation. He never got affection like this from anyone as far as he could remember, not counting the Sandaime's grandfatherly affection for him. But... he could get used to this, he decided as he finally got outside.

He received some looks from the other as he ascertained that the tree with the swing in it would be a good place to sit. Most of the looks were of simple curiosity, with one or two glares for, supposedly, being a smartass. He could of course pinpoint these individuals, and was thoroughly surprised that Sasuke wasn't among the people who glared; no, the vibe he got from him was one of happy curiosity – which is the weirdest thing that Naruto could ever think of. Sasuke? Happy? Impossible!

But among those who were glaring at him were a number of Uchiha fangirls, mainly civilian ones; except the pink haired girl, Sakura if his memory served correctly, who he got a feeling was slightly awed by the fact that he knew even more about history than she did.

As he walked, he could feel a bit of jealousy and aggression coming from somewhere. He subtly spied around him and found it to be the Inuzuka. He shrugged it off as him having affections for Hinata; obviously going unanswered in his quest for love. That thought made Naruto grin slightly. He had nothing against Kiba; no, he was grinning because he now knew that Hinata truly wanted to be with him; and he'd do anything for one of the very few people that saw him as a human.

The redhead set the pale-eyed girl down in the shade of the tree and sat down next to her, pulling out a scroll from one of his pouches and opening it to reveal a storage seal. He put the scroll down and unsealed its contents with a small puff of smoke. The chakra smoke cleared to reveal two black bento boxes on top of the scroll. Naruto decided to wait until the Hyuga heiress woke up.

A few minutes later she stirred and her eyes were starting to open. "Sleep well, Princess?" Naruto jokingly asked. Hinata's eyes shot open at the sound of Naruto's voice. She looked to her left to see gently smiling face of her crush looking at her. Her cheeks lightly burned, but she stayed conscious still.

Naruto picked up one of the bento's and handed it to Hinata, "Here, I made some for you too," he said as the girl accepted the food box. She tentatively opened it to see the contents. There were two Cinnamon buns to the side, a small container with Zenzai, a small cup of cold tea, and a rice ball... that was decorated to look like a blushing Hinata; with the Nori forming her midnight blue hair, eyes shaped like two vertical lines, making them look like they were closed, and a smiling mouth shaped like a '3', and two small cherries making it look like she was blushing. Hinata looked in awe at what her crush had prepared for her.

"You... like it?" Naruto said hesitantly as he blushed slightly, honestly didn't know if he had done a good job or not when it came to everything he had made, he had only followed the instructions in the cookbook he bought during the week before he made his reappearance.

Hinata beamed at her crush, he had prepared all of this for her, and she couldn't love it more. "Th-thank y-you, Naruto-kun!" she smiled widely with what looked like sparkles in her eyes... Naruto did not understand how a Hyuuga could do that. Naruto grinned slightly, "I only hope it tastes good too," he said hesitantly, an almost invisible blush on his face.

With that, the Hyuga dug into her meal, starting with the rice ball, which she munched up quickly, delight written all over her face. Naruto smiled at the adorableness that was the pale-eyed girl before he too opened his own Bento, revealing a similar set of food, but replacing the Zenzai with cold Ramen, and the rice ball being made to look like himself... the him before the incident. Naruto smiled sadly to himself. To think that so much had changed; one day he's a hyperactive child who's only wish was to be respected, the next he's an impassive child who's only goal is to have even a single friend his own age. Naruto definitely felt old.

They both enjoyed their meal in relative silence as they finished. "T-thank you N-Naruto-kun," Hinata shyly said, "I-I really enjoyed th-the m-meal." "It was my pleasure Hinata-hime," the redhead replied with a small smile, bowing his head to her, "I just hope I can make something better for next time," he said somewhat nervously. "A-ah, Naruto-k-kun, there's no n-need f-for that! I-it was p-perfect," Hinata stuttered out, but lifted Naruto's mood nonetheless.

"We should probably head back to class," Naruto suggested, "less hassle over seats that way." Hinata nodded at the suggestion, her regular blush still burning her cheeks. They both headed inside quietly.

Naruto sat down where he did before, Hinata following shortly after.

Hinata fidgeted for a bit as she thought of how Naruto was now. He was different from before – and in good ways! He seemed to be kinder now, and somehow understood her feelings for him; and was responding to them, which made Hinata incredibly happy at the moment. Her favorite former-blonde also seemed smarter now... which she counted as a good thing in general.

"A-ano... Naruto-kun...?" Hinata tentatively asked. Naruto hummed, his red-haired head tilted slightly as he looked over to her with his blue eye. "W-why... why i-is y-your ha-hair r-red?" she asked. This was a question that had bothered her since she saw him again, and she had no real theory as to what it could be.

Naruto was somewhat happy that someone was curious enough to ask him that question, but he never thought that Hinata would be the one to do so. "My red hair..." Naruto said as he fingered with a strand of it, "It's not really "hair" as many would say..." he mused, confusing the pale eyed girl next to him. "W-what d-do you m-mean N-Naruto-kun?" Hinata asked the redhead beside her.

"My hair..." Naruto smiled sadly, "it's... blood taken from those who have intended to harm me... and Chakra from the reason why..." he muttered, only loud enough for Hinata to hear him. Said girl was now quite pale and confused.

Naruto started lowly, "I'll give you a hint to the why...nine-"..."-tails..." Hinata whispered as her hair shadowed her eyes. Naruto awaited the enraged exclamation, the negative reaction, anything... anything except the girl embracing him, burying her head into his shoulder.

Hinata silently shed tears into his grey jacket, while holding onto the crimson haired youth, wrapping her lithe arms around his torso. Naruto was stunned. He would have expected any kind of reaction except an affectionate one. The blue eyed boy sighed, returning the gesture, holding her in a gentle embrace; his bandaged hands rubbing her back as time went on.

It was nearly the end of their break when she finally stopped crying. Naruto gave her a reassuring squeeze as she starts getting herself detached from him. She looks up into his blue eyes, eyes that were filled with worry. "I-I'm fine N-Naruto-k-kun..." Hinata stutters out, nose being a little clogged up, "b-but..." "We'll talk about it later. Class is about to start; but I promise you, I'll answer all of your questions..." Naruto paused, "ok?" he asks, getting a slight nod from the pale girl.

Soon the other students arrive in the classroom, along with Iruka; whom sent sidelong glances at Naruto and Hinata in the back.

"Alright class, we'll continue on history tomorrow," Iruka said, eliciting a small 'whoop' from many students, "For now, let's go outside for target practice and a few rounds of sparring." This was taken well by the majority of the male students, the female part however were less enthusiastic about this.

The whole class went outside to the practice yard, where a few Kunai and Shuriken targets were set-up; all looking humanoid, with bulls-eye's in kill-zones. Iruka started calling out names of students, eventually calling out for Hinata.

"You can do this, Hinata-hime," Naruto whispered to her as he gave her a reassuring pat on the shoulder. Hinata smiles back at him, blushing with a determined look in her eyes, "I will, Naruto-kun," she said without a stutter.

Hinata walked up to the throwing line, a quiet confidence in her step as she readied her bladed projectiles. She focused for only a second before she let the weapons fly...

TH-T-THU-T-THUNK!

Iruka's jaw was hanging slightly... where had the average hitting Hinata go? And who was this 100% score girl who just beat everyone else in accuracy?

In every bulls-eye was a projectile; shuriken struck one of the humanoid posts, kunai lodged in the other.

"Uhm... 10/10," Iruka mumbled as he noted it down after the girls name, "Alright, Next..."

And so it went on until Sasuke's turn, his fangirls cheering him on; while he remained the epitome of cool, ignoring the kunoichi-in-training. He stepped to the throwing line, and focused for a moment before unleashing the hail of steel upon the unsuspecting training dummies.

TH-THU-T-THUNK

Sasuke smirked as he saw his results; maybe not as spectacular as Hinata's, but better than before.

"Right, 9/10," Iruka muttered out, "Good, next..." and so it went on, for a very short while later Naruto stepped up to the line.

Naruto took out the projectiles he needed for this and eyed them carefully, 'I really hope I don't use too much force on this... would scare the crap out of the villagers, but would also lead to prompt attacks from some shinobi...' he thought for a moment as he got ready to throw.

The redhead breathed softly as he let them loose at much higher speeds than the other students.

The projectiles flew in less than a mili-second and impacted the training dummies...

THR-R-RU-RUNK!

... and shot holes right through the bulls-eye planks, save one who missed yet hit the wooden fence, causing a large amount of splinters to fly out the other side as well. Naruto scratched the back of his head in a sheepish manner, "... Oops?" he said as he tilted his head to the scarred Chunin. Said Chunin was gagging at the thought of the force that would actually be required to cause kunai and shuriken to annihilate one of the bulls-eyes like that.

"Well... 9/10..." Iruka muttered to himself as he sent a nod in Naruto's direction. Naruto turned to walk back to Hinata's side, and came face-to-face with the incredulous stares of the rest of the class. He really needed to learn to control his strength and speed... he did not want to shatter a reusable target after all.

As Naruto walked, Iruka spoke up once again, "Next..." and so it went on again until everyone was done.

"Alright everyone, it's time for sparring; only today, we'll be putting you on teams of three and letting you use any skills available to you, as long as it's non-lethal," Iruka said, seeing many people get slightly excited... and the fangirls squealing slightly at the thought of actually getting a chance to be on Sasuke's team. Naruto grinned at the prospect, 'as long as I don't kill, eh...' he thought menacingly to himself, a soft, feminine laughter sounding through his mind at the prospect.

"Right, I'll be making you draw numbers from this bag here," the instructor said as he held up a burlap bag, rustling a bit from the papers inside, "Now, get in an orderly line and get your numbers. Once you have your numbers, find the other two students with the same one."

They did as instructed, quickly setting up a single file line and getting handed their numbers.

They quickly ended up with 9 teams of three, 6 being nondescript Civilian students while the remaining 3 were people from clans, sans one Haruno Sakura. Those teams were set up as so; Uzumaki Naruto, Hyuga Hinata and Sasuke Uchiha together as team 3, Haruno Sakura, Yamanaka Ino and Aburame Shino in Team 6, and Inuzuka Kiba, Akimichi Choji and Nara Shikamaru to form team 8.

"Alright, now that everyone has their teams we'll begin," Iruka instructed as he walked over to the sparring grounds. "Alright, we're going to do this in a tournament style, starting with Team 1 versus Team 2, Team 3 versus Team 4, etc. with Team 9 fighting the winner of the match between Team 7 and Team 8, before moving to the Semi-finals that we will have next week," he laid-out the upcoming fights, "The teams who don't win against their opponents go into a reverse bracket next week, ensuring that everyone gets to fight." He paused.

"Just remember this; you are on a team, and you are going to be Shinobi, so work together and you can overcome most obstacles," Iruka lectured.

"Alright, Team 1 and 2, on the field!" the scarred Chunin ordered, to which he got a hurried 'Hai!' from the contestants.

The two teams of 3 are standing opposite each other in various stances for Taijutsu. The fight begun with a few tentative strikes before heating up into an all-out battle, Kunai and Shuriken flying, Kawarimi's being pulled, Henge's to trick the opposing team, Bunshin's to do similar trickery, etc. ending with a win for a heavily breathing Team 2 after about 10 minutes.

"Alright, Team 2 goes on, while Team 1 goes into the reverse bracket," Iruka announced, "Team 3, Team 4, your turn," he once again ordered.

The two teams were opposite from each other. Sasuke had taken up his Interceptor fist, Hinata fell into her Gentle Fist, and Naruto... was crouching on the balls of his feet, sleeve covered arms resting on his calves, rocking slightly back and forth as if to the beat of drums, his feet scraping along the ground with him to ensure he didn't fall over.

"Hajime!" Iruka announced, causing team 4 to spring into action, following the concept of 'the first strike wins'. Team 3 though just waited for their three adversaries to reach them. Once they got within 4 meters of the group, Naruto sprung from his crouching position and flew right at the boy in front of him, in a spinning whirlwind of red. "Bloody Arms"Naruto breathed out, his arms becoming covered in a transparent layer of bubbling red, small wisps of red trailing after it and dissipating.

Naruto

Naruto's opponent struck out in panic at the red blur that was quickly approaching him, only to have his arm caught, burned by the acidic red chakra, and twisted by the momentum that Naruto had; eliciting a small scream of agony from the target. If you could see the skin on the target's arm, you would see it getting small acidic burns, warping the skin temporarily.

The young redhead swung on his opponent's arm, a leg flying to catch its victim in the back of the head. The civilian had no idea what hit him before he was knocked out from the near skull-cracking kick that placed itself into the back of his head. Naruto let go in the process and twisted himself so he landed on his previously unoccupied hand, swinging himself into a crouching position once more; red chakra still bubbling over his covered arms, and a satisfied grin covering his face.

(A/N; Think of Naruto's fighting style as some twisted combination of Break Dancing, Capoeira and Grappling)

Sasuke

Sasuke's opponent was momentarily distracted by the red whirlwind that struck his teammate. Sasuke took full advantage of this by charging at him, powering his legs with chakra so he became a black-blue blur to most people. The Uchiha directed a straight kick into his adversary's ribs, cracking one in the process, before springing off the ground and performing a front-flip, which turned into a gravity enhanced axe-kick, knocking the victim into the ground with a slight concussion.

Hinata

Hinata's opponent didn't fare much better against her than her fellow teammates did with their adversaries. The Hyuga really didn't want to hurt anyone, but she would have to if she wanted to let Naruto-kun and Sasuke succeed, so she would not fail!

Hinata silently activated her Byakugan; a skill she had kept hidden over the years, . She quickly struck out at the girl who was fighting her; or at least trying, as Hinata speedily closed the Tenketsu in the arms that were trying to hit her, making them quickly go limp as she dominated her opponent; who quickly enough, was just lying on the ground in pain and chakra paralysis.

General View

To those watching the fight... no, Massacre, were flabbergasted; not by Sasuke, a little by Naruto, but wholeheartedly by Hinata who just decimated her opponent... no, the more appropriate term would be victim in this scenario, as the girl didn't even get to fight back.

"Winner: Team 3!" Iruka announced, surprised that it took 42 seconds flat for the match to end; he'd have expected it to take longer.

Most of the students were kind of scared of team 3... And why wouldn't they be?! They just took out some of the others in less than a minute! And the red chakra on the Uzumaki's arms; burning into his victim's skin, like a weak acid... That scream of pain would haunt some of their nightmares from now on.

"Alright, someone get those three to the infirmary!" Naruto yelled to the other students, red chakra receding quickly. Iruka ordered team 9 to carry them away, seeing that some of the injuries they sustained might be serious... atleast the concussion and closed Tenketsu were a problem, not to mention those burns. Of course, Iruka recognized that burning chakra... and it made him almost terrified at what that boy could do.

"Hey, dobe..." Sasuke said worriedly as the Team 3 trio was walking off of the field, "What was that red chakra?"

Naruto stayed silent in thought for a few seconds, "... Sasuke, Hinata, meet me under the tree with the swing after the academy ends... I'll answer the questions that I can then..." the redhead whispered solemnly, just loudly enough for both of them to hear. Hinata looked worried for him, while Sasuke looked intrigued but both nodded nonetheless.

They sat down in the shade of a tree, while staying close enough to observe the matches.

-Later-

All of the matches were over, with Team 2, Team 3, Team 5 and Team 8 proceeding to the semi-finals.

"Alright, we'll continue with regular sparring, the only ones who are excluded are those who have sustained any major injuries," Iruka said, sending a pointed glance at a grinning redhead; said redhead having inflicted quite a bit of damage to a fellow student, almost ruining the chakra coils in his right arm and inflicting a good amount of burns.

"Now, that is all for today. I'll see all of you tomorrow," Iruka bid farewell and walked back into the academy to organize the files of his students.

As most of the students walked off, back home or anywhere else, team 3 disappeared to the tree in the schoolyard. The atmosphere between the three was tense, Hinata fidgeted with her fingers as she sat by the trunk of tree, Naruto next to her with a far-off look. Sasuke was sitting on the swing sideways, looking intently at Naruto .

"Alright Naruto..." Sasuke said calmly, "What was that chakra?" he asked with a bit of an edge.

Naruto hung his head and sighed, "Alright, I'll be blunt; I'm a Jinchuuriki, a container of a bijuu..." he trailed off as he looked up into the wide onyx eyes of his long-time friend, "... you can guess which can't you?" the blonde whispered.

"... the... Kyuubi..." the Uchiha slowly said as he struggled to control himself... he really wanted to hit a villager in the face and tell them all how freaking stupid they are. "Is this village full of Idiots..." Sasuke muttered while his fists shook in anger.

"Hehe... I guess it is, but I also guess the Sandaime is a fool..." Naruto chuckled darkly, "the previous two Jinchuuriki were kept secret from all but the Jonin or higher. Guess he trusted this village too much..." the blonde muttered the last part angrily as he fingered the bandage covering his left eye.

Sasuke sighed as he scratched his head in frustration, "What's done is done I guess, but..." he trailed off for a moment, "Umm... what happened to your eye?" he asked nervously, noticing the Jinchuuriki fingering the bandages over it. Naruto visibly flinched at the question.

"W-well..." Naruto shuddered slightly, "I... it was destroyed..." he said slowly, seeing Sasuke look uncomfortable with the answer. "But, I'd better just show you..." the Uzumaki slowly moved away the bandages where his eye used to be.

Hinata gasped at the sight of it, while Sasuke just looked at it in slight sorrow. Where Naruto's blue eye used to be, there was a plate of blackened iron with seals written in red covering it; the seal built with two squares overlapping to become an eight-pointed star encased in a circle of seal matrixes, with a spiral in the center of the star.

Naruto lightly fingered the metal. "This is what happened to my eye," Naruto sighed, remembering the night his life was turned upside down, "I was attacked on my 8th birthday; the day I disappeared and the day my hair became red with blood."

A/N: 6K Chapter right here! I could've extended it to possibly 10K, but my muse demanded I give you a proper cliffy for once. But I digress. A lot happened this chapter, Naruto gets back, he's friends with Sasuke and Hinata, we find out he knows a lot of stuff and he has a seal over the metal on his left eye... but for what purpose? And this Naruto isn't as insane as some of the other insane Naruto's... but he controls himself, until he gets to fight... he could've done a lot worse to that civvy... could have burned his face and taken his eyes out!

Anyway! Read, Review, Favorite Follow, Your choices are laid bare. See you in any other story of my creation.
