(A/N:) Oh, somebody told me the difference between OC and OOC. Yeah, everybody is OOC. My mistake. :)
Arrival in the Cotton Candy Land
The couple travelled for a few weeks until they reached the outskirts of the Cotton Candy Land. They were beyond tired and needed a place to rest. Finally, they reached at the entrance of the kingdom.
The Kingdom was guarded by a huge wall on all sides. A large wooden gate with double doors was the only way for entering the Kingdom. The gate was guarded by several guards. Getting inside was a tough job, the couple agreed. They had to think of a way to get inside.
They thought for a while. The security was tight and they couldn't seem to find an opening. Just then, Sakura got an idea. She twirled her fingers and magic happened. Cloaks appeared over their bodies and they both were fully covered by them. Besides them stood a horse cart carrying grass.
The couple pretended to be peasants and headed towards the gates. The guard asked them basic questions and let them pass. Both of them led a sigh of relief. They started walking inside the kingdom.
"Excuse me, wait!" A guard shouted at them. Both of them froze.
"You have to remove your cloaks. I cannot let you pass until I see your faces." he said.
Sasuke removed he hood and showed himself. The guard nodded and turned to Sakura.
Sakura froze. Revealing her hair would surely reveal her identity and there would be serious consequences to it.
Suddenly, the town-people started screaming and running. The guard turned around to see a horse gone wild, running crazily and creating havoc in that place. Quickly he rushed to stop it.
Sakura looked at the scene and then back to Sasuke. She saw him smirking.
"Sasuke?" she called out to him.
He looked at her with his crimson eyes, still smirking.
"Genjutsu." He simply said.
Sakura's eyes widened for a moment but then she quickly composed herself.
"Let's leave before the guard comes back" he told her.
The duo left to search a place to stay for the night.
Sasuke found a decent hotel, good enough for the couple to spend the night in.
"Sakura, stay here. If anyone sees you, you could get into trouble. I am going out to find something for us to eat and also to gather information about the castle."
Sakura pouted at that but stayed in. So then, Sasuke left out to gather information.
A couple hours later, Sasuke returned with food. Sakura noticed that he was acting different. He was lost deep in thoughts. He placed the food in front of Sakura to eat but he himself did not eat any of it. Instead, he went and stood in the balcony, staring at the moon.
Sakura noticed his behavior and was concerned for him. She got up and headed for the balcony, joining him.
"Sasuke, is something wrong?" she asked, placing a hand on his shoulder. Sasuke looked at Sakura and again back at the sky.
"I want to tell you a story." he said.
Sakura frowned at the statement but chose to listen nonetheless. She needed to know what was bothering him.
So he began.
Once upon a time, there was a Kingdom called The Cotton Candy Land. It was a well-flourished Kingdom. The King and Queen of the land were very generous. The Kingdom relied on their trade and the cotton candy farms for their economy. The entire Kingdom was at peace and harmony.
One day, the Commander of the Army revolted along with all the nobles of the Kingdom. The commander wished to overthrow the King's empire with the help of the nobles of the Kingdom. The Kingdom started falling apart due to internal war.
The King and Queen escaped through the secret passages of the castle. But the Commander would not give up on them so easily. He himself started search for them and ordered the Army to kill the King and the Queen on sight.
The Royal couple reached the dungeons through the secret passage. They needed time to form a plan to defeat the Commander. They were not going to give up their Kingdom so easily. So, they started figuring a way to defeat the Commander.
But, the Commander found them out. He told the soldiers to stay behind. He wanted to kill the Royal family with his own hands. He drew out his sword and headed for the King. But the Queen came forth to protect her husband. She tried to stop the Commander but he slashed his sword and the Queen's arm bleed with a huge cut. He held the Queen by her hair and pushed her away. She fell down, unconscious. Seeing this, the King yelled at him and drew out his own sword. And so, there was a combat between the Commander and the King.
The Queen opened her eyes to see the fight. The Commander was slashing the King with his sword and the King was bleeding profusely. But he still kept fighting. The Queen saw this. She had to do something. She looked around her and saw a sword, stuck halfway in stone. That was the only visible weapon at the moment.
The King raised his sword, but the Commander slashed his legs and the King fell down. His sword fell. The King looked up to see the Commander raise his sword. Surely, it was his end. The King closed his eyes, bracing for the blow, but it never came.
He looked up to see the Commander frozen at his place. Just then, the Commander's sword fell and he turned around. The King's eyes widened.
Behind him, was the Queen, who had pierced a sword through the Commander. The Commander fell to the ground, lifeless.
The Queen drew out the sword and the sword shone. Everything became bright and finally, the light receded.
The Queen looked different. Her hair had now become pink and her attire was different. She felt stronger. The King saw it and his eyes widened. He turned to the Queen and asked her "Do you know what this is? This is the Legendary Sword of Calypso." The Queen looked confused.
He further said "This sword belonged to Lady Calypso, the First Queen of the Cotton Candy Land. Only she was able to touch that sword. Since centuries, the sword was stuck in the stone. No one was able to remove it from the stone. No one, except you." he told her.
The Kingdom was restored. Entire Kingdom rejoiced again. There was a grand celebration. The Kingdom was back in peace.
Since then, the Queens of the Cotton Candy Land had pink hair. Also, they were gifted with special combating abilities.
"That's wonderful, Sasuke! Now we know where the sword is. I don't see why you were so confused and worried about-"
Sakura stopped when Sasuke hugged her. She was confused.
"Sakura, I am not done. The story still continues. And was worried about you. So honey, will you let me continue?" Sasuke asked, kissing Sakura's neck. She blushed but then, let him continue the story.
Many centuries passed away. The Kingdom still maintained its glory. That year, a new baby princess had been born in the Cotton Candy Land. She had honey colored eyes and beautiful pink hair. She was named Layla.
The entire Kingdom overjoyed at the birth of the baby princess. There was a grand celebration.
Years passed by. Princess Layla turned twenty. She was a strong, kind and a just Lady. She knew horse-riding, archery, sword-fighting and all other activities. She was everything a Queen could possibly be. Everybody loved their princess. The Queen set up many Princes to marry the princess, but she would refuse every time.
Princess Layla would like to stroll in the forest, which lay outside their Kingdom. Every day, she would visit the forest.
One day, there was an announcement in the Kingdom that Princess Layla was going to marry Lord Ryan from the Pink Realm. They both loved each other and had decided to marry. The entire Kingdom was overjoyed at this news. There was a grand celebration in the entire Kingdom.
Just the next day, a spy had been captured and presented before the King. After a lot of torture, he admitted that he was from the Pink Realm. He told that Lord Ryan had sent him to gather information about the Cotton Candy Land. He admitted that the Pink Realm was planning to defeat the Cotton Candy Land.
The King was raged by this. He believed that the marriage was also an act to enter the Cotton Candy Land. He was furious. He commanded that the marriage be cancelled and never to rely on Ryan anymore.
Before the message of cancellation could be sent to The Pink Realm, they received the message of the death of Lord Ryan.
Princess Layla was in the state of emotional turmoil. She couldn't believe all the events that occurred in her life. She believed in Ryan. She knew he loved her with all his heart. She refused to believe it. But her friends and family explained it to her and made her believe the truth. They made her believe that Ryan only used her as a door to enter into the Cotton Candy Land, to defeat it; destroy it.
On the other side, the Green, Lavender and the Golden Realms allied with the Pink Realm and declared a war against the Cotton Candy Land. The declaration of war made the King of the Cotton Candy Land certain about Ryan's plans. His doubt turned in a firm belief.
Soon Layla saw everything and came back to her senses. She was a Princess and she had to protect her Kingdom, no matter what. So, she sided the Cotton Candy Land.
Few weeks later, it was revealed that Princess Layla was pregnant with Lord Ryan's child. Due to the war, her pregnancy was kept secret. She decided to raise the child as her own. And so, few months later she gave birth to a beautiful young princess.
The baby princess had pink hair like her mother, but she also had magical wings just like her father. The child reminded Layla of Ryan and she broke apart again. The King decided that it would be best if the baby was kept away from the Princess. So, he decided that the baby was a good way to trade in with the Pink Realm to stop the war.
And so, the baby was given to the Pink Realm. Slowly, Princess Layla recovered from her emotional instability. But she could never forget it.
Sakura stood there speechless. She was confused. She never gained there could be a different face to the same story.
Sasuke stood up and hugged her. He knew that his little fairy was shocked and she needed him.
"Sakura. Don't stress on it. We don't know the truth. It is pointless to think about it and make assumptions without a valid proof."
"I don't know what to think, Sasuke. Both the Kingdoms cannot be correct. One of the stories has to be a fake one. I am sure that Prince Ryan was the noble King of my Kingdom. But now I can't help but doubt that what if the new story you told me is correct? What if our Kingdom was at fault? What if-"
"Shh. Don't think about it, honey. We don't know if the new story is really true or not. Who knows, maybe this story is the fake one. Don't stress yourself." Sasuke said.
He got up, brought the food and started feeding her. Sakura was reluctant at first, but then started eating.
My poor little Saku-chan! I can't see her like this!
What? Where did you come from?! What do you want?
It has been DAYS since we have kissed our beautiful fairy. I came to remind you that.
You dirty-minded pervert! Can't you see her pain? Look how stressed she is.
Oh, I see! Our little Romeo-boy has developed feelings for her.
W-w-what are you saying. I-I don't know what are you t-talking about. Hn.
You do. Our little Sasu-chan is in Lurve with our little Saku-chan. I know it!
Go away! Don't bother me!
Whatever you say, Lover Boy. Ja-ne!
As the night came by, Sasuke and Sakura lay on their respective beds, trying to sleep. Both of them lost in their own world of thoughts, unaware of the other person in the room.
Sasuke was lost deep in his thoughts. He was thinking what the Inner had said earlier.
Am I really in love with Sakura?
She was a Princess. Quite talented, he might add. And he was a Rogue ninja. A missing-nin.
His life was based on revenge and hers was dedicated for her Kingdom.
She was a Protector and he was an Avenger.
They were never meant to be.
He simply could not tell her his feelings. For their well-being. It would only bring them pain. And that was the last thing he wanted to do. It was better to spend the remaining time with her happily. So he decided to keep his feelings shut inside his heart forever.
Sasuke turned around to see Sakura, staring wide eyed at the ceiling.
Sakura was more than disturbed by the evening's news. She was the Princess of the Pink Realm. It was about HER Kingdom, HER ancestors. She had considered the Cotton Candy Land as her enemy since birth. But now she was herself confused. She knew that the Pink Realm was the first Kingdom to be formed, followed by the other three Realms. And that the Pink Realm was the strongest Kingdom at that time. She could not deny the possibility of Pink Realm attacking The Cotton Candy Land in order to defeat them. But she had heard the story of Ryan and Layla so many times, it was impossible for her to believe that it was a fake.
At first, she would have believed it. But now, looking at Sasuke, she can't seem to believe all that being a fake. She turned to the opposite side and faced the window. She looked at the moon as her thoughts drifted back to Sasuke. She knew how lonely he had been in his life. She knew he was so caring and compassionate about her. She felt connected to him. These few days were really beautiful for her. She was glad she met him.
Sakura's trail of thoughts was interrupted by an arm encircling her waist. Shocked, she turned around to be face to face with her love. She blushed. Sasuke drew her close to him and snuggled onto her.
"Don't worry my princess. Everything will be fine. I am here for you." With that, the couple drifted off to sleep in each other's embrace.
(A/N): Sorry for the looong delay! I am really lazy, I admit it. But I am back! :)
