May stared at the two phone numbers in front of her, debating on who to call first. She settled on her brother-in-law.
"Hi, Ed!" She chirped, merrily.
She heard a low growl, "What is it, May?"
"The kids really miss you; can you come over to dinner at my place?" May pleaded.
"Sure." Ed grumbled.
She beamed.
May hung up with the excuse of, 'Having to make dinner,' then she called Winry.
"Are you free this afternoon? My kids would love to meet you." She told her newest friend.
"Yeah, I'm free. Where do you want me to go?" Winry answered.
"My house." May told her, gleefully.
"Hey, kids!" May called, and watched her children rush down the stairs.
"Uncle Edward has a girl friend, but he doesn't know it yet, so don't tell him." May announced.
Her kids believed her, instantly, and whole heartedly.
"Feel free to call her, Aunt Winry." May went on.
Her children beamed, and then cheered. They had always wanted an aunt.
May entered the kitchen to prepare dinner, and Trisha, and Alphonse headed upstairs, squealing about their new aunt.
May smiled, softly, as she listened to the twins.
Naturally, Winry showed up first.
Winry looked nervous.
"She's here!" May shouted up to her kids, who ran downstairs at the call.
May grinned, and called out on her way back to the kitchen, "Introduce yourselves."
"I'm Trisha." The little girl introduced herself, shyly. She had her father's light brown hair, and she had her grandmother's bright green eyes.
"Alphonse, or Al." The boy introduced himself; he had messy, black hair, and eyes to match.
"Hi Alphonse, Trisha. I'm Winry Rockbell." Winry introduced herself.
"Call me, Al." Alphonse commanded Winry in a gruff voice.
Winry nodded, and committed it to memory.
"Your hair is a very pretty yellow; it's even lighter than Uncle Ed's." Trisha observed.
"Thank you." Winry told the adorable four-and-a-half year old.
Edward chose that moment to walk in to the house.
When he caught sight of Winry, he glared.
"Uncle Ed!" Trisha and Alphonse shouted, and charged at their uncle.
He faked a smile, and lifted up his niece, and nephew.
Winry couldn't help smiling, when she saw the cute family display.
They were having stew, and Edward looked just as excited as the kids.
Winry had never seen anyone eat so much so quickly before.
May laughed, "Ed's always been like that, and the kids take after their uncle."
Winry smiled at that explanation.
"Hey, kids! Did Winry ever tell you that she's an Automail engineer? She wants to work on your uncle's arm and leg one day." May informed her kids.
"Uncle Ed, why won't you let Aunt Winry work on your Automail?" They (Al and Trisha) asked.
Edward's and Winry's faces both turned red at the implication that they were a couple, and Ed started choking on his stew.
Before Winry could get up to help him, Ed recovered.
"What?" Ed rasped out.
May stifled a giggle, as she watched Edward, and Winry.
"Will you please let Aunt Winry work on your Automail?" The twins asked again.
"Sure, if you stop calling her that." Ed bargained with the kids.
"Aw... But we wanna!" The twins whined.
