The Pantheon War

Clary watched Jace leave fearfully wondering how long it would be before he'd see him again. Percy sighed and ran a hand through his hair tiredly. He turned around to grab his back pack from the door where he dropped it.

"I never get to stay home for long do I?" he muttered to himself as he unzipped the bag and dumped its contents onto the bed.

"Can I help with anything?" Clary asked awkwardly she'd never been alone with the demigod before, and after witnessing what he was capable of she was very weary of him. Percy was rummaging through his closet looking for something.

"Uh well not really I'm just re packing, you can make yourself comfortable." He said from in the closet. That's when Clary realized she agreed to accompany Percy with nothing on her person except her cell phone, stele, and some cash. She didn't even have a weapon.

"Percy how friendly are the other demigods?" she asked him nervously as he stuffed some clothes in the pack, he paused for a second before answering.

"I don't think you have anything to worry about. We won't imprison or kill you if that's what you're worried about." Percy assured her. "The Romans on the other hand aren't as friendly." He added with a knowing smirk.

"You and the Romans are enemies right?" Clary asked. He was done packing and slung the pack over his shoulder.

"No not any more we patched things up with them last summer. In fact Jace's already met Jason the Praetor of New Rome, and they managed not to kill each other." He answered. The look on Clary's face must have betrayed her shock because Percy just laughed.

"Anyway, you're invisible to mortals' right?" he asked with his hand on the door ready to leave. Clary nodded ever since she received her first mark mundanes she didn't know couldn't see her anymore, it still felt unsettling to walk down the streets of New York and have people literally act like she didn't exist.

"Good." Percy said walk out the door with Clary at his heels. She followed him into a comfortable looking living/dining room. A middle aged man sat at the dining room table doing paper work, while a delicious smell was drifting in from the kitchen.

"Hey Paul Chiron told me that I'm needed back at camp I'll probably be gone for another few days." He told the man. Paul just looked up confused just as a woman came rushing into the room wearing an apron, and holding a wooden spoon with blue stuff on it.

"But Percy you just got here. What do they need you so soon for?" she asked. Percy frowned not wanting to meet his mother's gaze.

"I'm sorry it's just that something came up, and they can't fix it without me." Percy said sounding sad and really guilty for some reason. Sally frowned.

"At least stay for dinner. I made your favorites and there are cookies in the oven." She said enticingly with a warm smile. Percy smiled grudgingly.

"I'm sorry Mom but I really need to go." He urged unhappily. Sally frowned and threw her arms around him in a warm motherly hug.

"Just be safe." She said releasing him. His mother looked at him with love, pride. Her eyes glistened with un-shed tears.

"I'll be back soon." Percy promised waving to Paul and quickly walking out the door Clary following him.

"Was that your mother and stepfather? They seem nice." Clary asked to make conversation.

"Yeah they are. I hate leaving them like that, but at least this time I got the chance to say goodbye." Percy said forlornly suddenly looking tired as they walked into the elevator. Clary nodded surprised by how much he cared. She felt like she was learning new things about Percy every second she was with him. What did he mean by saying goodbye? Every time she learned something about Percy, he seemed to leave her with even more questions than before. He pressed the button for the top floor, as the elevator doors closed.

"Why are we going up?" Clary asked confused.

"We're meeting our ride on the roof. How do you feel about flying?" he asked with a smirk.

"Do you have a private jet or something?" Clary asked sarcastically. Percy just chuckled.

"Not exactly." He answered. When the elevator doors opened Percy led her to the stairs to get up to the roof. Clary was mildly surprised to find that there was indeed no private jet on the roof. She looked over at Percy who stood with his eyes shut, and his eyebrows furrowed in concentration.

"What's going on?" Clary demanded. Percy just put his finger to his lips in a "silence" gesture.

"I'm contacting a friend to pick us up." He said still concentrating. Clary thought the demigod had completely lost it, when he lifted his head, opened his eyes and smiled.

"He's coming." He said simply.

"Who's coming?" Clary asked crossing her arms under her chest, and getting more frustrated by the second.

"My friend Blackjack he should be here soon." Percy said scanning the horizon shielding his eyes from the sun. Clary was hopelessly confused.

"There he is." Percy said pointing east. Clary looked down his arm and saw a black speck heading their way. The black speck soon materialized into a pure black Pegasus, who gracefully landed on the roof and trotted over to Percy nuzzling his shoulder affectionately. Clary stared at the Pegasus in amazement. He was the most beautiful creature she'd ever seen. A pure black stallion with a glossy coat, and great raven wings with soft feathers folded against his flank like a bird. Clary studied the creature memorizing its proportions, she was definitely going to sketch Blackjack later.

"No Blackjack I don't have sugar cubes, I'll give you some when we get to camp." Percy said moving away as the Pegasus sniffed at his pockets. Percy shook his head and turned to Clary.

"This is my Pegasus Blackjack he'll take us to camp." He said grinning. Clary stepped forward and stroked the flying stallion's snout.

"He's beautiful." Clary said her breath catching in fascination.

"Oh please, his ego is inflated enough as it is." Percy said jokingly. Blackjack moved so she could scratch his jaw. Percy climbed on the Pegasus's back, and reached out his hand toward Clary to help her up. Clary looked up at him. If Percy had a cape, and a sword strapped to his side he would look just like that stereotypical picture of Prince Charming coming to take the princess off to his castle. She couldn't deny the fact that Percy was very handsome, heck Izzy wouldn't shut up about him after that dinner they all had together. Clary frowned that all seemed so long ago. She wondered how long it would be before she could hang out with her friends like that again.

"Well are you coming?" Percy asked impatiently, breaking her out of her thoughts. Clary shook her head and let him help her up.

"She's not my girlfriend!" Percy shouted suddenly.

"What?" Clary asked uncertainly from behind him. Blackjack nickered as if he was laughing.

"Sorry, Blackjack is just being annoying." He said dismissively.

"You can talk to horses?" Clary asked carefully deciding that Percy was indeed partly insane.

"Poseidon's the God of horses, go figure." He said simply as if it was something he had to explain a lot. Clary just nodded.

"Ready?" Percy asked turning his head back to her. Clary realized she had no choice but to wrap her arms around him in order to stay on. She tried not to make it awkward, as she hugged him from behind.

"Ready." She answered. Percy didn't say anything as Blackjack leaped into the air with one mighty swoosh of his great wings. Clary had been behind Jace's demon motorcycle dozens of times. She would never admit it to him, but Pegasus riding was much more exhilarating. The New York landscape zipped by with surprising speed, as they swayed from side to side riding the wind.

"This is incredible!" Clary shouted over the wind rushing through her ears.

"Yeah it is, this is the one type of flying I'd do any day." Percy replied. Clary wasn't sure what he meant by that, but didn't care as she continued to enjoy the ride.

Soon the city turned into green fields, and country. Blackjack landed on a hill with a single, great Pine tree on top with strawberry fields all around baking in the sun. Wait, was that a dragon!? Percy hopped off, and offered to help Clary down but she just hopped off herself.

"Thanks Blackjack I'll meet you in the stables later." Percy said waving to the Pegasus as it shot off into the sky again. Clary looked around again, but couldn't see any sign of civilization other than a great blue farm house about half a mile away from where they were standing. There was also that coppery dragon curled up by the pine tree, Clary had to blink and rub her eyes to actually believe what she was seeing.

"Where are we? What's going on?" Clary demanded. Trying to make sense of what we she saw. Percy walked up next to her. The dragon pricked his head up and growled. Clary stepped back uneasily.

"Don't worry Peleus it's all good." Percy said waving to the dragon who just blinked snorted smoke and went back to sleep. Clary still hadn't relaxed yet. This was all so crazy she felt like at any moment she would wake up in bed, and tell herself to never drink coffee before bed again.

"So you can talk to dragons to?" she asked the half-blood sarcastically. Percy just shook his head, and looked at her as if she was the crazy one.

"Don't be ridiculous." Percy said. Clary huffed starting to get really annoyed.

"Where are we?" she demanded again.

"You mean you don't see it?" he asked as they stood on the hill. He gestured towards the strawberry fields.

"See what? All I see is strawberry fields and a farmhouse." She said folding her arms across her chest losing patience. Percy gave her a quizzical look, and snapped his fingers in her face. She turned and hit him hard in outrage.

"Hey, jeez what was that for?" he asked jumping away from her.

"What do you think genius?" she asked sarcastically and pissed.

"Clary just look behind you!" Percy yelled at her annoyed as he rubbed his arm where she punched him. Clary just rolled her eyes, and turned around to where he gestured not expecting to see anything when her breath caught in her throat.

The strawberry fields were replaced with a picturesque image of your typical summer camp. Cabins circled around a courtyard, there was an archery range, a sparkling lake, some ominous looking woods off to the side, and an arena that looked like a miniature coliseum. The great blue farm house was still there.

"Welcome to Camp Half-blood." Percy said proudly gazing down at the hill looking happier than she had ever seen him look.

"What just happened?" Clary asked confused and in awe.

"I manipulated the mist so you could see what's really there. Sorry I guess I should have warned you before snapping in your face." He said with the smile of a guilty toddler. Clary just rolled her eyes and shook her head walking forward. Suddenly she felt like she was walking in slow motion. The air around her resisted and was trying it's best to keep her from moving forward. She struggled against this mysterious force, as she heard Percy speak up.

"I Percy Jackson give Clary permission to enter camp." He said to no one in particular just as she was about to win her fight against the wall. Suddenly the resistance vanished and Clary fell to her knees in surprise.

Percy was at her side immediately and reached down to help her, but Clary just shooed him away and stood up dusting herself off.

"What the hell was that!?" she demanded.

"Uhh sorry I guess I should have warned you about that to. That was our camp borders they keep out monsters, mortals, and I guess nephilim as well." Percy said looking at her curiously. Secretly Percy didn't warn her about the mist, or the borders on purpose. He wanted to see how they would effect a shadow hunter, just in case he should ever have to defend Camp. Clary was miffed, but she realized how important her trouble was. Maybe Percy and his friends really were safe from the clave here.

"Whatever is there anything else I should worry about?" Clary asked exasperated.

"No not really I mean I doubt the Ares kids will bother you while you're with me." Percy said. Clary couldn't tell if he was joking or not. Percy led her to the farm house which was appropriately named the big house. Along the way Clary looked around trying to familiarize herself, but everything was so bazar. Most kids wore orange shirts like Percy's, and some even had old-fashioned armor on. There were these half-goat, half-human people mingling with the campers, and the cabins were just the strangest most out-of place buildings she'd ever seen. She also noticed how pretty much every person they passed stopped to greet Percy. He must have been some kind of celebrity here, and most of the girls they passed shot Clary jealous looks.

"If only they could see Jace." Clary thought to herself. Percy pointed stuff out as they walked, and tried his best to answer her numerous questions without getting too annoyed. When suddenly a blonde girl strode up and blocked their path looking angry.

"Hey wise girl can you come meet us in the big house?" Percy greeted the blonde. "Wise-girl" ignored Percy and sized up Clary. Clary stood up straighter even though this blonde girl was a good three inches taller. Blondie was very pretty if it wasn't for those cold, calculating grey eyes that watched Clary suspiciously. The blonde girl turned back to Percy, her entire demeanor changing to one of confusion.

"Percy why are you back, and not alone?" she asked glancing at Clary.

"Annabeth we really need to talk, including Clary here with Chiron it's very important." Percy said urgently yet gently. Annabeth looked between the two suspiciously before sighing.

"Fine, well I'm going to have to find out what you've gotten yourself into sooner or later seaweed brain." She said annoyed starting to walk to the big house.

As they walked toward the house, Clary heard what sounded like a horse galloping towards them. She turned, and froze. It wasn't a horse at all but a real-live centaur, with his upper body that of an older gentleman with a brown beard, and a bow and quiver strung along his back. His eyes looked down at Percy and Annabeth with affection, before glancing at Clary kindly.

The centaur's friendly gaze lasted all of two seconds before he noticed the marks on her neck and forearms. A spark of fear ignited in his eyes, all friendliness vanished as he looked to Annabeth.

"Annabeth who is this?" he asked her carefully. Annabeth just sighed.

"I don't know ask Percy." She said annoyed crossing her arms.

"Percy?" the centaur asked carefully.

"Chiron we really need to talk, can we meet in the big house." Percy asked him urgently.

"Chiron is a centaur!?" Clary thought to herself in amazement. 'By the angel this place just gets weirder and weirder."

"Yes we definitely need to talk." Chiron agreed with a nervous flick of his tail and another glance at Clary.

Turns out the big house was the only normal aspect of the whole camp, if you don't count the live trophy head of a leopard on the wall growling hungrily every few minutes.

"Percy please explain why you brought Miss…" Chiron began.

"Clary just Clary." The shadowhunter supplied.

"…Clary here I'm assuming you already know she isn't one of us." Chiron finished. Percy rubbed the back of his neck nervously, as his mentor and girlfriend watched him expectantly. He swallowed down his doubt and spoke up.

Percy explained everything how Jace and he met, how they continued to stay friends, and this new threat from the Clave. He left out their talks, and his visits to the Institute. Clary went on to explain the Clave's threat in more detail.

When they finished Annabeth was the first to speak up.

"Why didn't you tell me about all this? You stumble upon a whole other world and you keep it a secret from us…from me!?" she spat at her boyfriend fiercely her eyes stormy. Percy put his hands up defensively, although he looked pretty guilty.

"I'm sorry I…" whatever response he was going to sputter out were interrupted by Clary coming to his aid.

"In Percy's defense Jace kept your world a secret from me and everyone as well." She said. Of course it was inevitable when she eventually found out but still. Annabeth still didn't look convinced, as she just huffed and crossed her arms refusing to even look at Percy.

Chiron finally spoke up after just standing there thoughtfully stroking his beard. The centaur turned his thousand year old gaze onto Clary.

"I'm assuming you're on our side. I wouldn't blame you if you choose to stand by your people, but I must know before we proceed from here." He said watching her carefully. Clary gulped and looked down as she thought about what to say. She wanted to be on the demigod's side, that's why she volunteered to come with Percy in the first place. However, she couldn't blatantly go against the Clave they would just kill her along with Percy and his friends.

"How can we trust you? How do we know you're not just working for the Clave and figuring out our secrets?" Annabeth turned on her angrily. Clary balled her fists. Clary was many things but she wasn't a deceiver. Maybe her loyalties wavered, but that didn't mean she would ever betray anyone unless they deserved it.

'I came here to warn you. I figured you wouldn't believe Percy if he was just by himself. I swear on the angel that I would never betray your secrets to the Clave." Clary said passionately looking at each of them in turn. Annabeth still looked angry, and doubtful. Chiron looked satisfied, like he knew what swearing by the angel meant.

"I wish I could help you more, but I can't ditch the Clave and fight with you. I'll do my best to slow them down, or change their minds but I can't go against them." Clary said miserably. Annabeth just scoffed angrily. Clary was really starting to get ticked off at the daughter of Athena, what was her problem?

"Don't worry about it Clary we didn't expect you to change sides. You've done enough already" Percy said kindly managing a smile. Clary couldn't help, but smile back even though Annabeth was staring daggers at her. Chiron nodded thoughtfully.

"We'll announce all of this tonight at the campfire. Percy Annabeth you to should go contact Camp Jupiter and ask them to send in some reinforcements. I would, like to have a private word with Clary here." Chiron said giving Clary a strange look.

Annabeth gave one last look to Chiron and Clary before storming out the door.

"Annabeth, wait!" Percy cried as he ran after her the door closing behind him. There was an eerie silence in the room, as Clary realized she was now alone with the centaur. She tried to get a grip on her sudden feeling of unease. With Percy gone her confidence wavered making her feel exposed as the enemy, and alien she truly was in this camp.

"I would like to hear the story from you, and why you are so willing to help us despite what the Clave says." Chiron asked her although it sounded more like an order.

"Well…" she began.

"Annabeth wait up, I'm sorry…I" Percy called after her catching up, but she just kept walking ignoring him completely. Percy decided to just stop yelling at her and just followed her as she stormed off. He could have overtaken her easily, and make her talk to him but she would probably just get mad and judo flip him.

Annabeth led him to the beach, and stopped near the waves looking out into the horizon. Her blonde curls swayed in the ocean breeze, and she looked amazing but Percy figured telling her that wouldn't really help him this time.

"Why didn't you tell me about all about this Jace, Clave, and shadowhunters before?" She asked angrily turning on him. Percy blinked surprised at her anger towards him.

"I don't know I didn't think it was important." He said rubbing the back of his neck.

"NOT IMPORTANT!" Annabeth shouted her hands balled into fists as she stormed towards her boyfriend. "A whole other world of heroes, monsters, and divine beings isn't important!?" she asked incredulously looking at him like was crazy.

"No, I meant I didn't think it was that important to tell you about it, and get you involved. I thought the less people who knew about each other the better. Besides, I really didn't think you'd believe me if I told you about nephilim, demons and all that jazz." Percy said waving it off like it wasn't important. He was starting to get frustrated as well. What was the big deal about keeping this a secret from her anyway? Does he have to tell her everything that goes on his life?

Suddenly Annabeth's anger faded, her hands relaxed and the storm in her eyes dissipated. Now she just looked confused, and hurt.

"Did you really believe that I wouldn't have believed you?" she asked him quietly. Percy was beyond confused now. What just happened? She was all pissed off a second ago, and now she looks like Percy hit her. He was so frustrated his emotions started messing with the environment. The wind had picked up, and the waves crashed along the surf with greater intensity.

"Well you didn't believe me when I told you about Grover being in danger when we were thirteen. You didn't believe me when I told you Luke was evil, and wanted to kill us. You…" Percy would have gone on, but Annabeth interrupted his rant.

"Percy stop!" Annabeth pleaded looking on the verge of tears. The wind slowed down, as Percy took a deep breath and turned his gaze towards her waiting for her to speak first.

"That was different, I'm your girlfriend now seaweed brain. I'll always believe what you say, always have your back, and never doubt you. You should know that." She said sounding more hurt than angry. Percy just crossed his arms and gave her an accusatory look.

"Why should now be any different? If you thought I was fooling you then, why would you change your mind now that we're a couple?" Percy spat. Annabeth glared at him, as she let out an exasperated sigh.

"We were kids Percy I-I...' Annabeth paused stamping her foot in frustration. 'I was naïve then and should've realized that you'd never lie to me. I let my pride, and feelings blind me. I should have listened to your wisdom and intuition, because sometimes..." She paused and turned away from him balling her fists. "I'm the one who's wrong." she whispered.

Percy stood there shocked wondering if he heard her right. Annabeth never admitted when she was wrong, and she definitely never told him he was smart (well to his face anyway). Her pride would never make her admit something like that, and he understood just how hard it was for her to say that especially to his face.

"Annabeth, I-I'm sorry you're right, I…" Percy began suddenly no longer feeling angry, but as if he'd wronged her in some way.

"Save it Percy. I'm not mad at you anymore. I just hope you know that you can tell me anything, and that I'll always stand by you." She said sounding exhausted.

'I do." He said simply wrapping her into a warm hug. Her head on his chest as they cuddled listening to the sound of the now calm waves crashing beside them, and Annabeth reveling in his ocean-like scent. When they broke apart Annabeth still held his hand, and laid her head on his shoulder as they walked back to camp.

"Next time I stumble upon another world I'll tell you about it." Percy promised earning a kiss.

That night at campfire, Clary sat next to Chiron feeling self-conscious as everyone's eyes were on her. She supposed she stuck out like a sore thumb, sitting alone with the centaur and her marks swirling up and down her arms. She saw Percy and Annabeth sitting on a log hand in hand, she guessed they made up whatever fight they had. Her heart ached, she wished Jace were here to support her. He would have enough confidence for the both of them and more. Chiron stamped his hoof, for quiet and motioned for Clary to stand by him.

"Campers, it has been a good week we've had very few injuries and accidents." He said glaring pointedly at two boys that looked like twins who just smiled cheekily and fist bumped. 'However I have some rather shocking, and disturbing news.' He said gravelly. Clary watched surprised, as the campfire changed colors from a happy yellow to a muddy brown. She was told that the fire was enchanted to change colors with camper's moods, but she supposed everyone had such different responses to Chiron's words that the fire was just a mixture of all. Chiron gestured to Clary.

"My name is Clary and I am a shadowhunter, and you are all in danger." Clary began.

A/N- Aww percabeth 3! I guess it's a headcannon of mine, but I really wish there'll be a moment in HoH when Annabeth tells Percy he's actually smart to his face. I mean we all know she thinks he is, but she's never actually told him that. I think it'll help raise his self-esteem because even though he's all brave and confident we all know what really goes on his head. Btw I hate it when I read fanfiction's where they make Percy seem dumb. I mean sure he's goofy but he's also clever, resourceful, and a good judge of character! Sorry for my rant. Thanks always for the R&R
