Author note: And Henry's off on an adventure.
Warning: Sex, pseudo-science, Henry being emotional.
Pair: William Zimmerman and Henry Foss.
Disclaimer: I do not own Sanctuary, because if I did the ending would be more of an ending, rather than just stopping like it did. Stupid cancellations...
"Will's in Marrakech?" Richard blinked. Henry nodded.
"Yeah, he's out there until tomorrow evening on business."
"My luck isn't very good at the minute." Richard groaned. The technician sighed, scratching the back of his head.
"I'll tell you what. I'll call him up, see what he suggests. Maybe there's something we can do for you without him being here." Richard helped himself to another sandwich.
"Thank you, Henry." The grateful smile was genuine, and Henry couldn't help but return the expression as he dialled Will's number on his cell phone.
"H?" Will's voice was sleepy but worried. "S'the matter? You okay?" Henry winced.
"I'm sorry dude, I forgot about the time difference." Will hummed, but didn't hang up. "I need your advice." Henry got to the point quickly. "I've got your friend Richard here at the Sanctuary. His wife's gone missing and he thinks there's more to it than the police are saying. He wants to know if you could lend a hand in tracking her down, but obviously with you out of the country..."
"You know you could probably use those ultrasensitive wolf senses of yours to track her, right?" Will pointed out.
"Yeah, but he came here looking for you. I don't know if he'd be happy to let me loose on this. Besides, I don't know how far I'd have to take it." He glanced at the waiting man and lowered his voice. "All we know is she's gone, and his instincts are telling him there's something weird about it." If nothing else, he'd learnt how reliable instinct tended to be, and knew enough to know it wasn't just for him and the other Abnormals – humans need their instincts too.
"Put Richard on." Will yawned. "I'll tell him you're good for the job, if you're willing to take it." Henry rolled his eyes and smiled fondly.
"Of course I am, but you're helping me pick up the pieces if it goes to hell, alright?" He huffed. "Hold on." he held the phone out to Richard. "He wants to talk to you." Richard took it warily.
"Hello?" Henry could just about hear Will on the other end, courtesy of his sensitive hearing.
"Rich, dude, I'm sorry to hear about Emily. Look, I'm barely awake, so this'll be brief: anything you want from me, Henry can deliver. Trust me when I say that he's just as good at all that stuff as I am, only his is natural ability rather than learned. If I was over there, I'd help you in a shot, but I'm on the other hemisphere right now."
"Yeah, Henry said Marrakech." Richard glanced at the werewolf. "You sure about this?" Will chuckled and yawned again.
"Hundred percent sure. If Henry says he can do it, he can do it." Will assured him. "It's your choice, but I'd take the offer. Just promise me you won't freak out on him, no matter what happens."
"Thanks man, I promise." Richard handed the phone back to Henry.
"Will?"
"He'll probably take your help." The profiler stretched and snuggled back down into his blankets. "Good luck." Henry chuckled.
"You too. Don't let things get too hot and heavy out there. We all know how Tesla can be."
"I won't; I think we're pretty much done out here anyway. I'm going to try and get an earlier flight back if I can. See you soon." They hung up. Henry looked across at Richard. "What do you think? Reckon I can help?" Richard shrugged.
"Maybe. Can't hurt to try. Can the kids stay here when we go?" Henry nodded and stood.
"I don't see why not. Kate?" he called, pulling on his jacket. She stuck her head in from the room next door where she was entertaining the twins. "Can Louise and Chris stay here with you while Richard and I go check out the scene?"
"Sure. I'll make sure they eat and take a nap and everything little kids are meant to do." She grinned teasingly. "Good luck boys."
"Wait, now?" Richard blinked.
"Yeah." Henry nodded. "No time like the present. Besides, the longer we leave it, the less of a trail there'll be to follow." They headed out onto the street where Richard had parked his car.
"Seriously, Henry, you think you can handle this?" the werewolf rolled his eyes.
"Dude, trust me. I may not be Will, but I'm just as good at this stuff." He grinned impishly. "I just show off less."
