House of Jara CHAPTER 31
When the gang walked into Anubis house Nina was in Fabian's room sulking, waiting for him to come back.
"Fabian, your girlfriend's in our room with a face like a smacked ass," Eddie said as they entered the living room.
"I'll see you guys later," Fabian announced and went to his room whilst Patricia went to hang out with Eddie without even saying bye.
"I think our Trixie has a crush," Alfie announced.
"Yay Peddie!" Amber exclaimed much to the confusion of Patricia and Eddie who decided to ignore her and carried on to do whatever 'Peddie' does.
"Do you think Nina will ever come around?" Jerome asked.
"She's the one whose being difficult so you shouldn't worry," Alfie explained to his best friend as they all sat in the living room; Amber was leant on the arm of the sofa with her legs thrown across Alfie lap whilst his arm was almost around her laying along the back of the chair and Jerome and Mara were sat in the arm chair.
"Thanks guys, you know, for sticking up for me," Jerome told his friends and girlfriend.
"We will always be here for you Jerome," Amber replied as Nina and Fabian walked into the living room.
"Hey Amber, Alfie," she said still refusing to even acknowledge Mara and Jerome.
"Hey Nina, you ok?" Alfie responding not taking any notice to the tone of her voice. Amber on the other hand decided not to reply out of respect for Mara and Jerome.
"Amber?" Nina asked in a hurt tone.
"Come on Amber, you're being childish," Fabian was trying to help his girlfriend but he knew that Nina was also being very childish.
"So is she," Amber replied simply, everyone was shocked at the way Amber was taking Jerome and Mara's side and standing up to Nina like that; Nina huffed and stormed up to her room.
"Supper's ready," Trudy announced; everyone but Nina came to eat and it was quite peaceful due to the lack of sniping. "Where's Nina? Is she feeling ok?" Trudy questioned.
"Other than feeling bitter she's fine," Amber muttered under her breath; Jerome choked on the laugh he attempted to hold back.
"Pardon, Amber?"
"Nothing," Amber said cheerfully.
"Amber I think you're being unreasonable and spiteful, give her a break," Fabian uttered.
"I personally think Amber is being quite reasonable, Nina has been very quick to judge people. She needs to know how it feels to have everybody against you," Jerome told the table.
"Jerome you know it feels awful so why do you want Nina to feel like it?" Fabian questioned harshly.
"Because she has been making me feel bad and Mara and so she need a taste of her own medicine," Jerome explained.
"What are you guys talking about?" Joy asked.
"I agree with Jerome! She needs to know what it's like to have no one on your side, backing you up," Patricia started as everyone ignored Joy and she sighed exasperatedly. "When I thought Joy had been kidnapped everyone thought I had gone completely crazy," she elaborated.
"Let's just try and get everyone back on the same side again otherwise you know who will do you know what," Fabian compromised.
"After this we can go and talk to Nina because Fabian is right she will get angrier the longer we stay mad at each other," Mara agreed with Fabian as she didn't want any of her friends to get hurt. After a whole Sibuna conversation in front of Joy and Mick they decided it was time to be quiet.
"I really don't fancy going up to talk to Nina," Jerome whispered to Mara.
"Well you have to Jerome, several people's lives depend on finding that mask," Mara replied to her boyfriend.
"I realise that Mara, my sister's life being included even though she's done a damn thing wrong in her life," Jerome spat back and Amber noticed this heated exchange.
"Oh Jerome, I'm so sorry I completely forgot," Mara gasped her apology.
"Yeah everyone probably will because they're only thinking about themselves, just forget it ok," he replied, immediately standing up and walking to his room. Mara put her head in her hands and sighed at her stupidity as Amber decided to go and find out if Jerome was ok. KNOCK KNOCK. "Go away!"
"Jerome it's Amber, let me in," she called through the door, there was no reply but the door inched open a crack so Amber walked in to find Jerome just sitting on the edge of his bed.
"What do you want Amber?"
"I want to see if you're ok. I heard you and Mara arguing," Amber revealed as she sat down next to him.
"I get that it's not only Poppy in danger but how could Mara just forget like that? Poppy is one of the only people I care about, I just can't let anything happen to her, it'd kill me." Jerome put his head in his hands as a tear escaped his eye. The only person he would ever cry in front of was Mara.
"I understand what you mean-"
"No you don't Amber, you don't have any siblings so don't even bother trying to understand just be my friend without the pep talks please," Jerome told the blond bombshell.
"Of course I can be," Amber smiled and hugged her friend who hugged back. "How about I let Alfie skip our date tonight and you two can hang out? Then I can hang out with Mara."
