AN: So i finally go to update this, it would have been put up last week but my computer crashed. Also this is extremely late but its because I personally hate getting low grades and since i have school and exams to juggle it is going to continue to be extremely late. So i apologize for the continued extreme lateness from now.
An 2: Read and review...i would really not like to put this here but i think repetition is key. So...If you don't like my story you should have stopped readying it from chapter 1.
Chapter 5 Classes
Hermione entered her dorm room with a smile; this would be her home away from home for the next seven years. Her things were already at the foot of her bed which so happened to be next to a window. She ran over to the window and threw it open to take in the fresh night air; Neville was right, she was the most excited of them all.
With a giggle she started to unpack her things, she couldn't wait to start classes tomorrow. She was the only one already in her dorm, the others were probably still downstairs chattering with friends...maybe she should have stayed and talked with Harry...or maybe not, she wanted him to make friends other than herself.
"Okay Buttercup I'm going to let you out to catch come dinner, be back before I'm off to classes tomorrow okay?" she said to the pretty owl as she walked to the window and opened the cage. The male owl gave her finger a small nip in reply before flying off. "Now I just need to organize my books and I'm finished...I should probably go downstairs after..."
She sorted her books into different piles on her desk then left. As she suspected Harry was seated in a couch before the fireplace, politely answering the questions of the girls surrounding him; the way he kept tapping his foot spoke volumes of his annoyance, but of course the girls surrounding him wouldn't know that.
She was about to make her way over when she saw a girl standing in a corner of the common room, she was staring at everything blankly with a book clutched in her hand. Every few seconds or so a person would walk by her and give her a strange look before continuing on their way. The girl had short curly dark blonde hair and brown eyes.
Hermione went over to the girl. "Hello, what's your name?" she asked. The girl simply stared at her, more likely than not wondering why Hermione Grindelwald of all persons was speaking to her. "I'm Hermione."
The girls grip on her book increased and she looked down, afraid to make eye contact. "You can tell me your name you know, I promise I won't bite." Hermione pressed.
The room went silent as people watched in curiosity at who had caught Hermione's attention.
"...La-Lavender B-B-Brown."
Immediately whispers broke out in the room; the Brown's just had a trial last month, they were found to be in league with Dumbledore, they weren't sent to Azkaban but they had been stripped of all their titles, their one seat on the Wizengamot and given 5 years house arrest.
Lavender didn't look up for fear of the look of disgust on everyone's faces. She was shocked to see a hand come into her field of vision.
"Well pleasure to meet you Lavender," Hermione said.
Lavender looked up at Hermione in disbelief. The whispers around them became louder "Y-You don't find m-me d-disgusting...y-you d-don't think me a b-blood traitor."
"I judge a person based on his or her actions, not their parents," Hermione said. "What room are you in?"
"1-A"
"Great! We're roommates! Let's go up and I'll help you pack okay?"
Lavender nodded hesitantly, she had thought Hermione would be a rich prat, but apparently she wasn't. Hermione stood Lavender's hand and quickly hauled her upstairs away from prying eyes; she gave Harry a quick apologetic smile, telling him she couldn't save him from the swarm surrounding him.
He didn't look pleased but waved her off all the same.
"So which bed is yours?" Hermione asked. She let go of Lavender's hand and watched the girl point to the one directly next to Hermione's. "Okay, let's unpack then."
"Are you sure you want to be around me?"
Hermione sighed in exasperation before going into her typical stance of crossing her arms and lifting her chin. She gave Lavender a small glare "Yes, I am sure." Lavender flinched and Hermione realized she might have scared the girl; she sighed and relaxed her frame. "Listen Lavender, I don't have many friends and at Hogwarts where fame seems to rule I don't think I can make many true friends...you caught my interest, not only because you weren't swooning over Harry but also because you looked lonely and since I am…well me I can spot a non-fame-seeking-individual when I see one...so will you please stop with the questions?"
A look of relief washed across Lavenders face. She hadn't been sure about associating with Hermione especially since her father was on the Wizengamot and was the Headmaster, but apparently the girl wasn't as mean as she looked from afar.
"Friends then?" Lavender asked, holding out her hand.
Hermione smiled and took the blonde's hand, pulling her towards the bed "Friends."
Harry sighed internally as the girls around him kept increasing; they kept asking him irrelevant questions like 'Is Hermione you're girlfriend?' 'Do you have a girlfriend?' 'Do you want to be friends?' 'Let's study together sometime' You would have thought the girls in Ravenclaw would have been more down to earth and sensible but it seemed that was not so in the slightest.
"Oi don't you see your killing the poor lad!" A voice suddenly shouted. Harry didn't know from who but the next thing he knew someone grabbed his arm and pulled him free of the mob. The girls protested but left him be.
Harry looked up at his saviour and saw a face he recognized but could not place a name to. "Thanks um..."
"Nott, Theodore Nott."
Ah, so that was who it was. The boy hadn't made much of an appearance in the other dimension but he had been a smart lad, especially if he had rivalled Hermione in potions.
"Pleasure Nott I'm Harry Snape."
"Just call me Theo, Nott is my father."
"Then you can call me Harry."
Harry almost chuckled when he saw the glares being levelled at Nott; the boy had been the only one brave enough to tackle the mob and talk to Harry, a feat the others had been afraid to do.
"You up for a game of chess?" Harry asked, already making his way towards the stairs; he didn't want another encounter with a mob, he had enough of that in his dimension and he would like a bit of reprieve.
Nott grinned "I have to warn you Harry, I've been unbeatable for the past 4 years."
"Well there's a first time for everything."
Lavender sighed as Hermione pulled a comb through her tangled blonde hair; she had been so nervous about attending Hogwarts she had neglected it for a full week.
"You have really nice hair Lavender you should take better care of it. If you want you can borrow my shampoo," Hermione offered. She put down the comb she had been using and took up a brush, pulling it through the now slightly more manageable hair. "It tamed my mane so it should do wonders for your hair."
"Thank you, I've been so nervous I neglected the poor thing..."
"You should have asked your mother to do it then."
Lavender frowned, a painful memory of her mother throwing a bottle at her flashing through her head. "My mother and I aren't currently on speaking terms."
"...Sorry I brought it up." Hermione whispered; she could understand not being on speaking terms with a family member. She had been in the same situation with her father years ago and it had taken a brief kidnapping for him to see what it was doing to her.
Lavender waved off the apology. "So isn't your father coming to congratulate you?"
Hermione shook her head though Lavender could not see it "I doubt he will, that would be a show of favouritism."
Lavender tilted her head to look up at Hermione, confusion written all over her face "But he's your father."
"He's also the headmaster."
Lavender opened her mouth to reply but was cut off when the door to their dorm popped open. Three girls a brunette and two blondes entered. Lavender's mood seemed to do a complete 360 as she once more closed herself off to the world. Hermione frowned at this, deciding that she would have to remedy that.
The brunette spotted them first "Oh my god! We got Hermione Grindelwald!" Hermione suppressed a frown at the brunette's outburst. The brunette ran over dragging the two blonde's behind her. Upon closer inspection Hermione saw that one of the blonde's had tanned honey brown skin like the brunette's while the other was as pale as snow.
"Hi Hermione, I'm Monet Lowley!" said the brunette
"I'm Jessica Michealis," said the tanned blonde, Hermione found she didn't like the way Jessica was eying her like a piece of candy.
The pale skinned blonde was silent; she wasn't even looking at Hermione, instead her icy blue gaze seemed to be examining Lavender. Monet frowned "Introduce yourself Daphne!"
Daphne rolled her eyes "The only reason I'm here is to get that book Monet, not to drool over some girl so if you would please be so kind as to give me the book then I can be on my way."
Hermione chuckled, catching the attention of all the girls in the room. "I like you Daphne," She said, patting the space beside her. "Take a seat and help me with Lavender's hair."
The room fell silent. Daphne certainly didn't understand why Hermione was talking to her after her blatant dismissal of her person. Monet and Jessica were stunned as well and Lavender was silently wishing Hermione knew what she was doing.
"I can help!" Jessica said, gesturing to her impeccable hair. "My mom's a stylist so I'm practically a pro."
Hermione ignored the girl, acting as though she had never spoken. "Sit Daphne," And Daphne did, Hermione had been giving her a look that hinted to trouble if the blonde did not obey and though Daphne was as tough on the outside as she was on the inside something told her that annoying Hermione would not be in her best interest.
Hermione gave the remaining two an annoyed look "You two can leave now I don't particularly fancy goggling women."
"Oh come now Hermione, let's be friends," Monet said, smiling in what she thought was a friendly manner. Too bad for her, Hermione could easily see past the facade to her power hungry gaze.
"Leave or else I'll have you expelled," It was an empty threat of course, Hermione couldn't just go up to her father and tell him to expel the two girls because they were annoying her and even if she could Hermione didn't fancy herself a bitch. The threat seemed to have gotten to them though and they quickly left the room.
"Okay, I suppose introductions are in order. I'm Hermione Grindenwald and she's Lavender Brown...you?"
Daphne looked suspicious but she answered all the same "Daphne Greengrass."
"Well Daphne, let's be friends."
The next day found Harry seated in the common room, a bit earlier than would be expected from first years. Theo was seated next to him and yawning away while reading a large Tomb on dragons.
"Why the bloody hell are we up so early anyways?" Theo asked, flipping a page.
"I don't recall telling you to follow me," Harry replied. His eyes were focused on the stairs leading to the female dorms. "And if you must know, I'm waiting on Hermione."
Theo stopped reading his book and took up the one at his side "Well then read this while you're at it, girls take forever to get ready, I'm speaking from experience," he handed it to Harry. "It's a book on some low-level black magic spells."
"I don't like reading."
The look Theo gave Harry was one of shock and horror "Then how the bloody hell did you get into Ravenclaw?!"
Harry smirked "Pure will I suppose...I'll try to give this a read though," He held up the book. "If I'm in the house I might as well play the part."
It was another hour before Hermione came down with two girls by her side. This was definately a record Harry realized, Hermione was never one to arrive for anything on time or after time, she always arrived before time. He thought she would have wanted to reach breakfast early as well but it seemed he was mistaken. Another girl seemed to have been added to her group of her friends.
"Good morning Harry," Hermione greeted. Her eyes immediately zoomed in on Theo. "Introduce me to your friend." Harry chuckled; typical bossy Hermione.
Theodore put down his book and held out his hand "I'm Theodore Nott, you can call me Theo."
Hermione smiled, taking his hand and giving it a firm shake. "Pleasure to meet you Theo, I'm Hermione."
The unknown girl stepped forward "I'm Daphne Greengrass."
"...Lavender Brown."
"Well," Harry started, standing to hand Theo back the book. "I'm Harry Snape – let's go we're about five minutes late for breakfast already." He grabbed Hermione's hand and pulled her along. The others followed.
"I can't believe a Veela's our head of house!" Theo practically shouted. Harry couldn't believe it either, he knew the time difference in the world was totally different from his world but for Christ sake didn't they think he had already been thrown around enough? Why the hell did he have to have Fleur as his Head of House?!
"She was so pretty." Theo continued his eyes glassy.
Lavender and Daphne rolled their eyes, while Hermione chuckled and Harry gave the dreamy boy a hit to the head to bring him back to reality.
Hermione briefly glanced at her watch and let out a startled gasp, "Well you can ogle her tomorrow when we have Herbology, right now we have transfigurations!" She ran off leaving the others to follow.
Harry didn't find transfigurations all that different or difficult. He had already gone through most of his years at Hogwarts so it was child's play to turn a match into a needle. They had it with the Puffs which didn't give them much competition. He took a full five seconds to change the match into a needle, he kept alternating between the two then he went ahead and started turning the match into a pebble, a tiny twig and a model fly. McGonagall had awarded him 30 points for showing such proficiency. The sad thing about it all was the frown marring Hermione's face; he wished he could have just told her that she was the reason he was so good at it.
She didn't speak to any of them on their way to Divination instead she kept her head stuck in her transfiguration text trying her best to learn as much as she could before her next Transfiguration class.
Divination class was hell, Harry was hoping that Trelawney had died some horrible death or was yet to be born or something terrible that kept her away from him; but his prayers went unanswered as Trelawney sat in her usual seat before her crystal ball. What made the class even more horrible was the fact that they had it with Gryffindor; now don't get him wrong he still loved his house and he thought it was great having class with Neville but the fact still remained that Ron was present.
Trelawney smiled at them, her eyes seeming even larger than they already were behind the glasses. She stood quickly once she spotted Hermione and grabbed the brunette's arm before she could find a seat. "Oh dear what seems to have upset you so, your aura is practically pulsating?" She asked. She looked away from Hermione for a second saw Harry. "Sweet Merlin, you have a dark aura boy."
"Dreadful, oh how terrible and so young," She muttered, just soft enough for their group to hear. "Well off you go, find your seats."
Harry mentally groaned, already she was beginning with her crazy rants. Hermione sent him a curious glance before hurrying to a table. She, Daphne and Lavender took one to the front. Harry, Theo and Neville−whom Harry greeted with a slap to the back−took the table next to them.
"Okay, what's going on between you and Hermione?" Neville asked, already spotting the tension.
Harry didn't answer; instead he studied the insides of his cup, trying to figure out what it was telling him; probably something about his untimely death. "He got 30 house points after he changed a match into a needle then a twig and finally a pebble...Hermione's been in a bad mood ever since," Theo said.
Neville examined Theo, taking in his appearance, he had light brown almost blonde hair and blue eyes, he had a lean frame and was only slightly shorter than Harry; it wasn't noticeable unless you really looked at him.
"And you are?"
"Theodore Nott"
Neville nodded "Neville Snape...so basically you're saying my brother−this one right here−like Harry Snape, definition of all things lackadaisical−don't look at me like that Harry you know it's true−did better than Hermione, definition of workaholic in Transfiguration?"
"Yes."
"Ah, I can see why she's mad." Neville looked at Harry, who was still examining his cup. "How did you manage that anyways Harry? You run away from books."
"I found a transfiguration text I liked in the library at home and I went through it, it's probably the only thing I'm good at," Harry lied. Mentally he took note to try and act his age, he didn't like Hermione not talking to him.
"Oh, well whatever, just tell her that and she'll get over it− you should have gotten into Gryffindor Harry! Sirius and his friends held this celebratory party for the newcomers, it was epic! They had barrels of butterbeer and so much food...of course Professor McGonagall shut us down an hour in but it was fun while it lasted..."
Theo groaned "Damn, I wish I could have been there, don't you Harry?"
The green eyed former seeker finally looked up from his cup "I like being with Hermione." Neville rolled his eyes "We all know that Harry. So as I was saying Sirius, his friends and the twins let loose these awesome fireworks that destroyed half the common room and they all got detention but apparently it's a tradition, getting detention that is."
They didn't get to finish their conversation as Trelawney walked by the girls table; she complemented Daphne and Lavender before frowning down at Hermione. "Ms Grindelwald, you need to put in more effort."
Hermione frowned "How am I supposed to tell the future from the remains of tea? You're insane if you think that's possible"
"Divination is an art, it takes time and belief...do you believe in divination Ms Grindelwald?"
"My mother doesn't and neither do I."
"Oh you poor thing, your mother has caused a block in your natural chakra...you'll have to try extra hard to pass this class." Trelawney gave her an encouraging smile before moving unto Harry's table. The words Harry dreaded were the first ones out her mouth. "Oh dear! Mr Snape, death follows you..."
Half the class gasped−mainly the Gryffindor half, most of the Ravenclaws didn't believe in Divination−they looked at Harry like he was the grim reaper himself. Harry was convinced the Trelawney from his world had followed him to this one.
The bell rang and Harry sighed in relief. He thanked the world he only had an hour of this class, the bad thing was he had it every day; 5 hours of divination with Trelawney a week was enough to drive a grown man insane.
"It seems little Ms know-it-all isn't good at everything," Ron laughed as he walked past Hermione's table. "Let me give you two girls some advice. It's best you stay away from this one, she's a bit loose in the head, not the right sort to hang out with."
Seamus and some boys Harry didn't recognize laughed at Ron's apparent joke. Lavender scoffed "I think we can decide who's the right sort," she grabbed Daphne and Hermione and marched towards the door. "Come on Harry, Theo, we have charms!"
"Dumbledore we're in trouble!" a black haired man shouted as he stormed into the room that held an aged man seated on a throne upon a podium. "The raid on Diagon alley didn't go as planned; the aurors took out more than half the troops that went."
Dumbledore folded his fingers together "I suspect Bellatrix was there, only she could take out that many of my forces."
"Yes sir."
"...The other three raids went off without a hitch then?"
"Yes sir."
Dumbledore looked at James in puzzlement, "Then what is the matter James? Everything went according to plans." James blinked, staring at Dumbledore like he had lost his head. How was this going according to plans? They lost a good number of their troops! The Diagon alley raiders were the largest of the three groups that went out for the raids!
"I can see you find my words confusing," Dumbledore paused, patting the feathers of the phoenix resting on his shoulder. "I didn't tell you the full extent of my plans. The Diagon alley group was the distraction, the noble sacrifices for the other raids to take place. It was the largest group to draw Bellatrix so that she couldn't interfere with the others."
James gritted his teeth, slamming his hand on the long table in the centre of the room "You sacrificed my men!"
Dumbledore frowned a bit put off that James didn't seem to understand. "This is why I never told you James, you have to sacrifice the few for the many, their sacrifice is all for the greater good."
James said nothing; he merely nodded and walked out. Sometimes he wondered whether he was on the correct side or not. He valued the lives of people more than anyone in this place. Order of the Phoenix, harbingers of the new world...what good would a new world be if half its people were in mourning for the dead?
With a sigh he shook away the thoughts; the decision had already been made. At least at the end of it all he would have Lily like Dumbledore promised...his sweet, innocent Lily flower.
Charms just so happened to be Harry's saving grace; for one it was taught by Lily and it gave him the opportunity to get back in Hermione's good graces. He pretended he couldn't do a simple levitation charm and had Hermione teach him, she earned 10 points for completing it first and an additional 10 for helping a fellow house mate. Regardless to say Hermione was happy once more.
So now he found himself in the Greathall, munching on a scone while scanning his timetable for the next class.
"Who teaches the Dark arts?" He asked, spotting that it was the next class after lunch.
Neville, who had decided to seat himself at the Ravenclaw table pointed up to a dark haired man at the staff table, he was one of the few teaches who were there. Harry knew he had seen him somewhere, ah it was during the final battle in the other world, the man had constantly been at Bellatrix's side.
"Rodulphus Lestrange if I remember correctly," Neville said, not noticing the frown of disgust that flashed across Hermione's face when he voiced it. "I heard Sirius and the twins planning a prank for him last night."
"Is there something the matter Hermione?" Harry asked seeing as he was the only one who noticed Hermione's frown.
Hermione went back to munching on her apple "I don't want to talk about it."
Harry rolled his eyes "Fine, then don't." It wasn't fine, but he would leave her be for now. He would ask again when they were alone. He looked back down at his time table and furrowed his brow at the class called 'Combat', it drew his attention not only because he had never done this class before but also because it was done in the Forbidden Forest. For a brief second he wondered if the forest was even forbidden in this world.
"Congratulations!"
Harry rolled his eyes as Fred and George appeared from underneath an invisibility cloak at the head of the table. They holding three small cupcakes that had 'congratulations' written on them in flashing colours.
Hermione smiled, taking the chocolate cupcake "I would have preferred a cake," she said.
"Yes, we know that, but you didn't get into Gryffindor now did you? Sirius would have come as well but he didn't to do a charms assignment so Aunt Lily has him in their finishing it up," Fred said. The twins looked around at the faces they couldn't recognize. "Now introduce us to your little crew."
"She doesn't need to introduce us," Daphne said. "I'm Daphne Greengrass, he's Theodore Nott and she's Lavender Brown."
Fred and George stared at Lavender for a full 5 seconds and in those 5 seconds everyone could tell they were scanning the girl for any sign of danger; when this seemingly showed up to be a negative the twins grinned and shook each of their hands, leaving a small blue cube in each.
Harry groaned when he saw the item "Don't you think Uncle Gellert has enough trouble with you lot?"
"No." They both replied.
Lavender turned the cube around in her hand "What is this exactly?" The twins grinned and gestured to Hermione and Harry who had both finished their cupcakes. Lavender slowly looked to where the twins were pointing "Oh my. Hermione, Harry, you've both turned redheads!"
Harry fingered a lock of hair "I like this better than the time you turned it blue," He said, well aware that the others were now regarding the small cube with caution. Neville pushed his cupcake aside, he liked his hair the way it was thank you very much.
"30 points from Gryffindor."
The twins frowned and swivelled to give Tom looks of annoyance; he was surrounded by his 'lackeys' as the twins called them. "You better watch it Thomas wouldn't want any embarrassing pictures to get out now would we?" Fred hissed.
Tom bristled at the use of his full name, if there was anything he hated more than his mothers rants, it was being called by his full name. In an effort to still his raging pot he turned his cool gaze to the bunch that had taken to following Harry around. They looked competent enough.
He sent a charming smile at the girls and gave the boy a brief nod before going about his way, not even bothering to congratulate his family much less acknowledge them. The twins left along with him, trying to get him to give back the house points.
"Your brother is very charming Harry," Lavender said. "I can see why they call him Slytherin's prince− I hear they call Hermione's brother his knight."
Hermione shrugged, standing with her bag "I don't really care what they're called, now let's be off, class starts in 15 minutes and I'm never late."
Harry chuckled, she was right about that.
"If any of you believe the dark arts to be a simple game then I suggest you leave my class." The gruff words reminded Harry of his first day of potions with Severus and held his attention for a few seconds as he wondered if Severus had written Rodolphus's speech.
The Chamber of secrets was identical to the one in his world, well minus the giant Basilisk of course. Salazar's Library had been transformed into a vast classroom that seemed to be much like the room of requirement. Harry would have never guessed that after taking a set of stairs up to the fifth floor and entering a room clearly marked "Dark Arts" he would have ended up in the Chamber of Secrets. Not for the first time Harry wondered of the limits of magic.
Not even Hermione had been able to explain it when poised with the question from Theo; Harry was sure she would be up all night researching the subject. He wouldn't be surprised if she ended up in Gellert's office before the day was out to find out what had been done to the room.
"The Dark arts are unforgiving and will in all cases end up with a party injured or dead; to avoid the unpleasant prospect of one you incompetent beings dying you will be placed into groups. Now, separate yourselves into your tiers."
Harry found himself in a group with Hermione, Seamus, Lavender, Padma and Parvati. Daphne turned out to be a Beta and Theo an Omega.
"I have a list here of teams of three, each having one Alpha, Beta and Omega, this will be your team for the following term."
With very little thought Hermione grabbed Harry's arm and tugged him back in place beside her; it was almost instinctual, she simply knew he would behave badly to the statement. Harry didn't take well to being separated from her, they had been that way since they were kids and he didn't seem likely to change any time soon. "Oh hush Harry, it's not like it's the end of the world."
Rodulphus eyed the small exchange before beginning to list off the teams. Lavender, by the lucks of the gods got placed with Daphne and Theo while Harry got placed with Neville and Dean Thomas.
Harry found himself beginning to panic when he realized the only ones left were Hermione, Seamus and Ron. This was insane, Rodolphus couldn't possibly be thinking of placing Hermione with those two fools? They hated her guts!
"Given the odd number of Omega's the last team will consist of two Alpha's and a Beta, Hermione Grindelwald, Seamus Finnegan and Ronald Figg."
Hermione once again grabbed Harry's hand and pulled him back. Harry gritted his teeth, already seeing a pleased grin on Ron's face "This is ridiculous Hermione and you know it!" he hissed in fury. Oh Harry was going to murder this man! Who in their right mind puts a girl with the boy whose mother her father just so happened to have sent to the most feared prison in the magical Britain?
"I can take care of myself Harry."
A sudden shadow fell over them and the noise that had slowly picked up in the room dimmed as everyone in the classroom watched Rodolphus sneer down at Harry and Hermione. "Is there a problem?" Rodolphus asked.
Harry stepped forward, he had killed this fool in one world and he could do it again in this one "As a matter of fact there is!" he snarled.
"Actually," Hermione said, pushing Harry aside. "There isn't. Please forgive Harry's outburst sir, he's been a bit irritated since lunch."
Harry pushed back to the front and in a show of his reminiscent Potter fury and Gryffindor bravery/recklessness he whipped out his wand and levelled it with Rodolphus's heart. "Listen here you pile of shite, I will not allow you to place Hermione on a team with a fucking imbecile and his shitty sidekick and if I have to beat it into your fucking head you better know that I damn well will!"
"Harry!" Hermione gasped.
Rodolphus looked livid and about ready to retaliate but before he could the doors to the atrium banged open and Gellert accompanied by Severus and Minerva swept into the room; followed closely by the ghost of Helena Ravenclaw.
"Harry, Hermione, Rodolphus my office," Gellert's words were sharp and to the point not giving way to what he was thinking much less feeling.
"Good luck Hermione," Daphne whispered, giving the girl a small tap to the shoulder.
Hermione didn't hear her as she was too busy levelling a heated glare at Harry; if she got in trouble because of him he would not hear the end of it.
