A/N: I'm terribly sorry guys! I've been so busy with shitloads of school work and activities and blah blah what not that I did not update at all. I will try to update as fast as I can I promise. Please do not kill me or send zombies to my doorstep. For now please enjoy the story!
P.S. We won't be hearing from Katniss for a while All the better for the mysterious element of my story. *cue evil laughter*
P.S.S I swear I will try to update my other stories as soon as I can.
PEETA'S PERSPECTIVE
He sulked for days after he accepted President Coin's request.
His mind is the ultimate definition of a mess, with several things swimming around, the most prominent of it all Katniss' bruised, tortured face.
Part of him wished he could unsee the footage. It surely would do him good to forget the bitter fire that raged in Katniss's stormy grey eyes, the painful twist of her lips and the scars on her starved body. But part of him kept bringing it up, fueling him to actually do something other than mope around.
But Peeta felt too drained. Even though he wanted to save Katniss so badly, he just couldn't find the strength to do it, even after spending hours in the company of her sobbing sister Primrose.
"You will save Katniss, won't you?" Asked the teary-eyed blonde girl one day.
"I will." He has replied then.
Lying on a hospital bed, hooked up on liquid food, and staring listlessly at the ceiling, it is safe to say Peeta has been useless and inactive for the whole week.
Finnick was even worse. It was as if his heart, made of glass, had broken and now the sharp, jagged pieces are still hurting him even more. And Peeta couldn't even fathom how Finnick felt. At least he knew Katniss is strong enough not to break, same couldn't be said for Finnick.
"I dream about her, Annie, crying for me when they torture her." He confided to Peeta one day after he woke Peeta up yelling for Annie at the top of his lungs.
President Coin is a regular, unwelcome visitor. She always came talking about plans and how she expected him up by next week as they need to rally the districts and what not. Peeta always tuned her out.
Mrs. Everdeen also came to visit Peeta often and just sat there at his bedside, quietly sobbing.
When asked why she replied, "You're the closest thing I have to Katniss besides Prim, and we both know I cannot afford breaking down in front of her."
A few minutes later she added, "Katniss loves you, you know."
"I don't." Peeta replied lifelessly. "I love her. But I don't know if she loves me."
"She does." Mrs. Everdeen insisted before getting up quietly, and walking away. "She may not know it herself, but a mother knows best."
With that last sentence whispered, she shut the door.
And that gave him enough hope and strength to get up and start acting like a human being again.
Wow. That sucked. But please think of it as a calm before the storm.
By the way, I'm writing an original story that will be posted on Wattpad, and this is the main reason my FanFictions have been delayed.
I'm really sorry guys
Love my readers ALWAYS,
Kaitlyn xoxo
