Hey guys! Happy New Year! What better way to start the new year than a story update, huh? So, here's an ACTUAL chapter update! Enjoy my Misfits!

Horcruxes

Since the visit to the Volturi life in Forks has been pretty good for the wizards, vampires, and wolves.

The Cullens never imagined a day where they didn't have to worry about the Volturi one day showing up at their door to cause trouble. With the threat of the Volturi gone, they could relax a little. There was always at least one Cullen found with one of the wizards. The town was shocked the first time they saw Emmett and Rosalie Cullen walking in town with some of the new kids, Hermione and Jesse Granger. They were both surprised and jealous of how quickly the Cullens took a liking to the new family.

Emmett spent a lot of time teaching the male wizards muggle sports with the help of his brothers. Draco, Theo, and Blaise turned out to be really good at both football and basketball with their tall and strong figures. Thanks to Dean, he got Harry and Sirius hooked to soccer, much to Seamus and Neville's amusement.

Carlisle was often found having conversations with Remus and Sirius about…well whatever grown, intelligent men talked about. The same went for Narcissa and Esme who were both glad to finally have a woman their age to talk to.

Rosalie became like another aunt to little Jesse, who absolutely adored the woman. Whenever Hermione was out Rosalie would gladly look after Jesse, leaving the new family free to do whatever. Rosalie was just happy she had another little child in her life, and a happy Rosalie made a happy…well everyone.

Alice had basically kidnapped Luna and Padma. She took them shopping, bought them new clothes, gave them makeovers, and other girly things that made Hermione want to gag. Jasper was sadly dragged along, but it wasn't anything he couldn't handle. He was used to it by now.

Bella spent her time with Hermione, missing her best friend. They hadn't seen each other since she went off to Hogwarts for her second year. Edward also took this time to get to know his 'new sister-in-law' as she put it since Bella and Hermione considered themselves sisters. He actually really liked the girl, finding out that they have much in common like playing the piano and their love for books.

The Cullens weren't the only ones who grew close to the wizards. The wolves were also seen hanging around with them, either going over each other houses or going to the beach or into town. Seth and Hermione were nearly inseparable. The only time they weren't together was when Hermione and Bella were having alone time or when they had to go home. Seth could hardly bear to be away from his imprint while Hermione found herself attached to him. Whenever he was around she got this feeling in her gut that she couldn't really place, but it was a pleasant one.

Hermione was currently in the kitchen with Blaise Zabini, the two being the only ones up. Blaise set a cup of coffee in front of her as he took a seat at the table.

"Thanks." She said.

"No problem." He responded, sipping his own coffee.

Hermione looked at him. "Why are you up so early?" she asked.

He laughed. "I honestly don't know. Had a rough night." He said.

Hermione quirked an eyebrow. "Is something wrong?" she asked.

He stared into his cup for moment before responding. "No. I guess I'm still just getting used to being in a new house." he shrugged. Hermione looked at him, knowing he was lying, but didn't push the matter.

"Well since you're up, I guess you'll be the first to hear what I found last night." Hermione said and he looked up in interest. "Last night I was reading through old Dumbles' journals, and found something that might help us get rid of Voldemort sooner." She said.

Blaise sat up immediately. "What'd you find?"

"Apparently, when Voldemort was young he was obsessed with the possibility of avoiding death, being immortal. When he attended Hogwarts he began researching ways to make it happen. He came upon these objects called Horcruxes. A Horcrux allows you to hide a fragment of your soul in an object for the purposes of attaining immortality." Blaise's eyes widened in horror.

"Wait, so you're saying that the reason that he didn't die the first time is because a part of his soul is in some kind of object that's keeping him alive?" he asked incredulously.

Hermione nodded. "That's not even the worst part." She said. She stood up and ran to her room, grabbing the journal, and running back down to a bewildered Blaise. "Tom Riddle's diary, Marvolo Gaunt's ring, Slytherin's locket, Hufflepuff's cup, Ravenclaw's lost diadem, Nagini, and Harry Potter." She listed from the journal. Blaise stared at her, confused. "Those are all of the Horcruxes he created."

Blaise's eyes widened. "Seven?!" he gasped. "He created seven Horcruxes?" he asked.

Hermione nodded. "He originally created six, but the night he tried to kill the Potters, I guess their murders were considered important enough deaths to fuel the creation of another Horcrux, accidentally making Harry the last one." She said sadly.

There was a pause as Blaise took this in. "So, to kill Voldemort for good we have to destroy all the Horcruxes." He summed up and Hermione nodded. "Then that means—"

"That I have to die." Both turned to see Harry standing in the doorway. He had no emotion on his face as he looked at the two.

"Harry," Hermione started.

"No, Hermione, it's okay. I always accepted the fact that I could die in the upcoming war. Hearing that I have to die so Voldemort can finally be destroyed makes it a little easier." He said. That little speech made Hermione realize how much Harry truly grew into a grown man.

"But, Harry you don't have to die." Hermione said and Harry looked at her sympathetically.

"Hermione, I know it's hard, but—"

"No," Hermione cut him off. "I'm serious. You don't have to die to get the Horcrux out of you." She said.

Harry looked at her in confusion. "What do you mean?" he asked.

Hermione picked up the journal and started rapidly flipping through the pages until she found the one she was looking for. "Well, according to this Dumbledore found a way to get the Horcrux out of you and destroyed that wouldn't kill you. But, he still planned to just have you killed, seeing it as the easiest and quickest way." She growled out and both boys joined her.

"So, what's the alternative?" Harry asked excitedly.

"The goblins." She said.

"As in the Gringotts goblins?" Harry asked and Blaise's eyes widened in understanding.

"Exactly!" he exclaimed, causing the other two to jump. "The Gringotts goblins are the most powerful creatures out there, even more so than wizards. They're known for their healing, especially when it comes to the dark arts. If anyone could get that little sucker out of you, it's the goblins." He explained.

"Correct." Hermione said proudly to Blaise who smiled. "And there's not a doubt in my mind that they'll help you. Two reasons. One, if Voldemort comes back that means he'll try to rule over the goblins too. The goblins are very independent and want nothing to do with him or Dumbledore. If there's a way to stop Voldemort from gaining power and trying to rule over them then they'll surly help us." She said.

"And reason number two?" Harry asked.

Hermione smiled. "Sirius Black."

Blaise understood immediately. "Oh yeah. Not only does Sirius come from a very respected and noble house, but he's helped the goblins in more ways than you could count on your fingers before he was arrested. He's one of the reasons the goblins have their independence from the wizarding world today. And I'd bet my family's fortune that they wouldn't believe for a second that he actually committed that crime." Blaise told them and Hermione nodded.

"So…there's a chance I can actually live through this?" Harry asked hopefully.

Hermione smiled. "That's right. All we have to do is find all of the Horcruxes first. Once we have them all we kill them all at once. If we were to kill them as we find them Voldemort would feel it and he would know what we're doing immediately. We don't want to give him a chance to start planning or get to these Horcruxes before us."

"We obviously can't get Nagini because that's Voldemort's snake. She never leaves his side." Harry said.

"Which is why we're saving her for last, when the war comes. After we have destroyed all the objects that we'll actually be able to find; the ring, Slytherin's locket, Hufflepuff's cup, and Ravenclaw's diadem, then we'll go to Gringotts and get the one that's in you." Hermione explained.

"Wait, what about the diary?" Blaise asked.

"Harry already destroyed the diary in our second year when he saved Ginny from the Chamber of Secrets." Hermione said and Blaise gave her a look. "That's a story for another time. Anyways, by then he'll know what we're doing, but by then it'll be too late for him to stop us. That leaves Nagini." She said.

"Did we seriously just plan this whole thing out in less than ten minutes?" Blaise said.

Harry smirked. "It's what we've been doing for years now." He said. "Welcome to the club." He patted Blaise on the shoulder who looked a little frightened. This caused the other two to laugh.

"So…what now?" Blaise asked.

Before anyone could answer Hermione's phone vibrated on the table. Picking it up she saw she got a message from Kylie. Reading the message she groaned.

She looked at Blaise and said, "Now we wake everyone up and await the arrival of the Newton family."
