You guys asked for some Damon POV, so here you are! I hope you guys like it! I was very inspired by the amazing Delena scenes that were in Thursdays episode, it is my favorite episode of this season by far :) Also, I had this new Delena story in mind that has a lot of potential… I'll put the synopsis in at the end of this chapter :)

Damon glanced at the clock for the third time in the past 5 minutes. This was the most nervous he had been in a long time. But he knew he had to do it. He had to tell her the truth. He couldn't lie to her any more. Although Damon wasn't in love with Katherine, he did care about her- enough to owe her an explanation.

He finally stood up from the couch when he heard the front door open. He waited as Katherine put her keys in the bowl, hung her jacket on the coat hanger and slid her shoes off. When she walked into the living room, a confused look came across her face at the serious Damon that stood before her.

"What's going on Damon?" she said, not bothering to say hello.

Damon sighed. There were two ways in which he could do this. One was to ease his way in, leaving the details for later. The other way was to rip the band aid off and tell her the whole truth right way.

"Look" he said, taking a step towards her. "I care about you. A lot. Which is why I think you deserve to know the truth.

The confused girl furrowed her eyebrows.

"The truth about what Damon?" she said, crossing her arms.

Rip the band aid.

"There's someone else." He said, avoiding her eye contact. "I've been cheating on you Katherine."

The next morning, Elena woke up in an exceptionally good mood. She bounced on every step and couldn't wipe the smile off her face. She even made her bed and bothered to say good morning to both of her best friends.

"Your surprisingly chirpy today." Caroline said, glancing at Bonnie, who mirrored her confusion.

Elena smiled wider and shrugged. "Brighten up you two," she said, "The suns shinning- it's a beautiful day"

Bonnie laughed. "I'm not complaining," she said. "I haven't really seen you smile in weeks"

It was true. Elena couldn't remember the last time she had been in such a good mood- and ironically the one thing that was making her so jolly that day was the same thing that had made her miserable for weeks.

Klaus awoke that morning to a knock on his door. He glanced at the clock, which read 7:19am. He groaned, rolled out of bed, and opened the door. He was taken aback when he saw Caroline standing at the threshold, beaming brightly at him.

"Caroline."

"Hey!"

"What are you doing here?"

"I just wanted to apologize for the other night" Caroline replied, walking towards the bed "I shouldn't have brushed you off so quickly. Stefan and I aren't anything official yet. We haven't even gone on a proper date."

Klaus was silent for a moment.
"If you just came here tell me that then you may as well just leave love."

"Its not just that Klaus. I came here to admit something to you. I like Stefan. I think he's great. When he and I talk, its like I'm talking to a brother."
"What are you getting at?"

"Like I said, I should have brushed you off the other night. I should have just let whatever might have happened, happen."

"And what might have happened?" Klaus asked, looking into Caroline's eyes.

"We might have danced, and then we might have talked, and maybe we might have even-" before Caroline could finish her sentence, Klaus crashed his lips into hers, putting his hands onto her face. Caroline responded with enthusiasm, running her hands through his hair. Klaus pushed her back onto his bed, pulling his T-shirt over his head and kissing her neck.

"Wait!" Caroline pulled back abruptly. "This is wrong! We can't do this! What about Stefan? I can't just forget about him!"

"Why not love? Like you said, you guys aren't anything official."
"I know, but I can't just blind-side him and make out with you! I'm sorry, okay?"
Klaus clambered off her, pulling his shirt back on. Caroline sat next to him, straightening her hair down. "Look love." Klaus said, turning towards her. "I understand you are confused about your feelings right now. But I'm not the kind of person who lets himself get strung along by some girl who can't decide what she wants. Stefan might be willing to wait around for you to make up your mind, but I'm not. So its now or never."

When Elena walked into her Economics class that morning, she couldn't help but smile brighter at the sight of her professor sitting in his chair. When he glanced in her direction, she smiled- but was immediately put out of her good mood when he didn't reciprocate the gesture. Hurt, she walked towards her chair, confused. Was he pretending last night didn't happen? Was he just going to forget about her and treat her the same as the rest of the class? How could she be so foolish as to believe that he could ever have feelings for her? Maybe she was wrong. Maybe he wasn't about to kiss her last night. Maybe he thought she was so immature for letting herself get that drunk. Elena was furious; she couldn't believe that she has let herself get her hopes so high up only to be she knew that the only relationship she and Damon would ever have would be that of a student and a teacher. Elena thought for a moment. Her mind suddenly wondered to the night that she and Damon first met- the night he had called her Katherine. All she knew of Katherine was that she was Damon's vicious ex who had murdered Damon's true love Liz in the middle of Times Square after she found out that Damon had been cheating on her. Maybe Katherine was one of Damon's students too. Maybe that was why he was so turned off to being in a relationship with a student.

The bell signaling the end of the lesson woke Elena from her thoughts.

"Alright class, see you after the weekend." Damon said. Elena glanced up, hoping the catch Damon glancing at her- but he didn't. He walked straight towards the door, his eyes not straying for even a second from his path. Elena sighed as she stuffed her looks into her bag. It was a lost cause. Whatever that Katherine had done to Damon was evidently permanent, and he wasn't about to change his mind on it for the melancholy Elena Gilbert. When Elena looked up, she found the classroom had already been emptied and she the lights switched off. She was alone. As she walked towards the door, a thought flickered in her head. Maybe Professor Salvatore kept his students files in his classroom? Maybe there was a trace of Katherine somewhere in his desk that would explain why Damon was so turned off to Elena? All she knew at that moment was that the only way she was going to get answers was to look for them in Professor Salvatore's classroom.

When Damon left his economics classroom that day, he headed straight to his Stefan's room. He knew that the only was the only way he was going to clear his head of all the confusion he was feeling was to talk about it with his younger brother.

"Stefan?" he said, knocking on the door. "Stefan, its me, are you in there?" After a couple of knocks, Stefan swung the door open.

"Hey" he said, stepping aside to let his brother in. "What's up?" As Damon lifted his foot to enter the classroom, he found that he couldn't get it past the threshold. He glance up at Stefan, confused. "Oh, come in" he said. "I asked a witch to put a spell on it so Klaus couldn't get in.

"Klaus?" Damon asked, walking towards Stefan's minifridge and pouring himself a scotch. "What's Klaus doing here?"

"Oh you know Klaus, touring the campus, taking classes, ruining peoples lives. So what are you doing here anyway?"

"Just to check up on my little brother," said Damon, raising his glass to Stefan.

"Come on brother, I know something is up. Caroline told me you spent the night with Elena after the bitter ball?"

"I didn't spend the night with her" Damon protested. "I just…looked after her after she passed out. It was just me being a responsible adult."

"Couldn't you have just dropped her off at the nurse?"

Damon rolled his eyes. "What's your point brother?"

"My point it, you've fallen for this girl and you and I both know it."

"I have not fallen for her" Damon exclaimed. "I'm just confused, okay? She's just… she's so much like Liz. I've been trying my best to ignore it but I just can't."

"In what way?"

"I don't know… just her laugh, her smile, her impeccable sense of humor… all of it. When I'm talking to her... its like I'm talking to Liz, you know?"

"Well no I don't know, I've never met Liz. But look Damon, I know it's been hard on you, Liz being gone and all. But she's gone. Elena is not Liz. Elena is your student. They are not the same person, okay? Don't mix business with pleasure. It's a mistake. Didn't you already learn that lesson the hard way?"

Damon sighed. He knew his brother was right. There was just something about this girl that he couldn't put his finger on.

After contemplating the act of rummaging through her teachers drawers just to find something she didn't even know existed, Elena rushed towards the desk at the front of the classroom and began frantically opening drawers, file cabinets and cupboards. Most of it was just ordinary teacher stuff- spare stationary, textbook, marked assignments and tests- until she reached the bottom drawer. It was locked. Elena thought for a moment. This was her chance. This was her chance to get the answers that she needed- but there was something holding her back. This wasn't like her. She wasn't the kind of person that rummaged through teachers desks to find evidence that probably didn't even exist. But love does that to people- it makes them do crazy things. Elena knew that from her past experiences. Her love for her previous boyfriend Matt had driven her to do foolish things that always came with severe consequences. It was all a blur to her now. But Damon wasn't like Matt. Damon was something else. With that, Elena pulled a bobby pin out of her hair, elongated it and stuck it into the lock. With one swift turn, she had unlocked the drawer. She put her shaking hand on the drawer and pulled, staring down at its contents. It was stuffed to the brim with items. The first thing that caught Elena's attention was lying in the middle of the drawer. It was a clear plastic bag, half filled with a red liquid. Elena stared, more confused than ever. The writing on the front read 'Mystic Falls Hospital Blood Bag #3543 B Positive.' Blood bag? Why would Damon be keeping a blood bad in his classroom?' Suddenly, Elena's eyes were drawn to something lying in the corner. She reached her hand into the back of the drawer until she was just able to pull it out. It was a piece of card paper, with a picture on it. Elena gasped in horror. Words under it read Katherine Pierce 1473 – 1864- and the picture above it is a drawing of none other than Elena herself.
