Surprise, Surprise! happy newyear...!

I screamed till my lungs gave out. Dimitri rushed in and took a hold of me.

"what's wrong? Why are you screaming?" I kept my eyes fixed on my mother. I simply couldn't look away. Dimitri looked in the same direction, but obviously didn't see anything. He shut off the shower and picked me up. When he stepped out of the shower, he put me on my feet on the fluffy carpet and wrapped a towel around me. Even though he moved me, my mother was still there, and I was still looking at her. I felt the towel being moved against my skin, and then a robe put on me. Dimitri stepped in my line of sight and my mother disappeared. I only then realized I was trembling and that Dimitri was soaked.

"what happened Roza?" he asked while he kept moving his hands up and down my arms.

"I- I saw…" did I really want to tell him? Would he believe me? I didn't think he would, but I'm not going to keep secrets from him.

"I saw my mom." I whispered, while everything happened again in my head. I looked up at him, he frowned.

"how did you see her?" he carefully asked, while he took of his wet shirt.

"she's dead Dimitri, how do you think I saw her?" I know I shouldn't snap at him, but that's just a stupid question. I sighed and closed my eyes. The images appeared again, but I forced them out of my head. I didn't want to see them. When I opened my eyes again, Dimitri had on another pair of pj pants and a dry shirt. I shivered and looked down at myself. I was only wearing my robe ad my wet hair was hanging out. I walked to my dressing and put on my underwear and a shirt plus a pair of shorts.

"am I going crazy?" I turned to Dimitri, he was next to me in a second.

"no, you've just been through a lot. It'll probably never happen again. Yeah, he' right. I smiled and kissed him. Then, we were interrupted by my phone.

"why does nobody give us some privacy?" Dimitri grumbled as he pulled back, which caused me to laugh. I took my phone and saw I had a message from a blocked number. I frowned, which caught Dimitri's attention.

"everything alright?" I nodded absentmindedly and read the message.

I warn you Rose, stay away from them. You don't belong there, you belong with us.

That made me frown even more. What the fuck! What does that mean? It's probably a prank from Eddie or Mason. I put my phone away again and walked slowly towards Dimitri. Once close enough, I wrapped my arms around his torso.

"what about" I whispered in his ear, causing him to slightly shiver, " we go on a trip soon. Then, we'll have all the time in the world alone."

I felt him nod as he trailed playful kisses on my neck. That playfulness quickly turned into a full blown make-out. Dimitri took hold of my thighs and lifted my up, careful not to hurt me with my stitches. I wrapped my legs around his waist as he carried my back to the bed. Once he had laid me down, he crawled on top of me, never breaking the kiss, except for some breaths. My hands found their way to his hair, while he had one on my waist and one cupping my cheek.

"I love you" I murmured in between kisses. He mumbled something back, but I didn't understand him as he kissed his way to neck.

"Rose!" me and Dimitri looked up at a now embarrassed Lissa.

"oh, sorry. I didn't know you were busy." Dimitri climbed off of me and run a hand through his hair.

"it's ok, liss. What's up?" I sat up. She came near me and sat down next to me. Dimitri bend down and kissed me softly.

"where are you going?" I whispered.

"Abe wanted to talk to me after you got home." That's not good. After he closed the door behind him, I turned to liss.

"where's he going?"

"Abe wanted to talk to him." Her face was the same as mine.

"that's not good." I smiled

"my thoughts exactly. But what got you so happy?" she sighed happily and her smile got even bigger.

"me and Christian decided to stay here for e few more days. Except if something's would happen to Viktor, of course" I nodded with a big smile of my own.

"we totally have to go shopping some time" she added. Normally, I wouldn't be so happy to go shopping, but it has been forever!

"yeah, let's go." She looked at me for a moment, probably to see if I was serious, but when I got up and put on some jeans and shoes. She jumped up and ran to the door.

"hey! Wait up, I can't run yet!" she never slowed down.

"so, were do we go first?" I asked her once we had arrived at the mall. Liss' smile never faded from her lips and it made me feel good to have her smile so much again. When she's not with Christian.

"oooh! Here!" she dragged me into a random store, but she was careful not to rip the stitches. Finally after 3 hours, Lissa allowed me to go to the food court. We had over a dozen bags, and damn it! clothes can be freaking heavy!

"I'm never going to shop with you willingly again!" I sighed as I plopped down on a bench and let the bags fall down.

"you suggested it! will you go or shall I go get the food?" I gave her my puppy dog eyes. She laughed and went to get some food. I let my head fall back and relax. Until my phone went off.

I'm not warning you again, leave! Or someone will get hurt.

I swallowed and looked around the crowded mall. I couldn't see anybody who would text me. And I couldn't trace the damn number because it's blocked! I needed to calm down, if I got this worked up I won't be any good. But what if it is indeed Mase or Eddie? I shook my head as I saw Liss coming back with a tray of food and put my phone away.

"what'cha got for me?" she put down the tray and my mouth watered. 2 slices of pizza, a big fries and a big cola. And then another piece of pizza and a small fries plus a small cola. That girl knows me too well. I immediately started eating together with her and after 20 minutes we were back walking through the mall. While Lissa was almost done in a shoe store, I was waiting for her outside. And once again, my phone went off.

I warned you.

Mase and Eddie are really starting to piss me off. I rolled my eyes and put my phone back. I was looking around the people, when I saw a familiar face.

"why are you here?" Sydney shrugged and looked around, like she was scared somebody would see her.

Sydney didn't say anything, she just looked around one more time and put a piece of paper in the pocket of my hoodie. I was about to ask her what was on the paper, but Lissa called me.

"hey, what were you doing?" she asked once I reached her.

"nothing." I looked over my shoulder, but Sydney had disappeared in the crowd. When would I ever have a normal conversation with that woman?

"are you done?" she nodded and we headed for her car. Filling the trunk completely with our bags, Lissa drove us home.

"hey! Aren't you going to help with the bags?" liss asked when I walked straight to the door.

"nope! Let your boy toy do it!" I shouted back. I had other things to do, say like, teaching Eddie and Mason a lesson not to prank text me. I walked to Eddie's room and busted in. and I walked right back out.

"Rose!" Mia and Eddie were just getting it on. I held my laughter and slammed their door shut again. That only leaves Mason. and lucky for me, his room was next to Eddie's. I walked into his room, but it was empty. He wasn't getting away that easy. I went back down stairs to Abe.

"hey, where's Abe?" I asked one of the patrolling guards.

"he's in a meeting and doesn't want to be disturbed." Too bad then. I thanked him and I went on a search in which room the old man was. I decided to first go to his office, since most meetings where there. Turns out I was right. I walked in casually and sat down on a free chair. Some people looked at me as if I had 2 heads, but the people who knew my just smirked and continued. I didn't really listen to what was said, but looked around. Mason wasn't here either. When I couldn't take it anymore, I raised my voice.

"where's Mason?" everybody turned to me, but I couldn't care less, I wanted an answer.

"he's not here." I rolled my eyes

"oh really, didn't notice. Why do you think I asked the fucking question? Now answer me!" I was losing my patience, not that I had a lot of that. But if he was really missing, then those texts weren't fake. I hoped Mason was somewhere here. Abe sighed,

"he's missing." I refrained myself from running out of here and doing something stupid.

"since?" Abe looked like he didn't really want to answer it, but I would get the answer one way or another. I waited for an answer, but when it was clear nobody would answer. I stood up, causing my chair to scrape over the wooden floor and walked out. angry. I didn't stop till I was in the gardens. Let's see how crazy I am, shall we?

"mom?" I yelled out to nothing. Lucky me, nobody was here.

"hello! I know I can see you!" I yelled out, "I really need you." I added in a whisper. Then, she appeared in front of me. I gasped, not used to seeing dead people, but I was glad she was here.

"do you know where Mase is?" I hoped dead people had some sort of power or something that could help me right now, because this was really getting out of hand. My mother nodded once and reached out to me, the moment she grabbed my hand, images came in my mind. Mason, I a car crash. Right now. I snatched my hand from hers and ran inside, once again ignoring the pain of my wounds. I ran faster than I had in a long time. Maybe, just maybe this didn't happen yet, maybe I could prevent it from happening. I burst back into Abe's office, now everybody looked shocked at me. I was out of breath, god, I really need to start training again.

"Mason's going to crash." Nobody did anything "with his fucking car! Don't site there you lazy bastards, do something!" and I was off again.

I sprinted to the garage and took Dimitri's truck keys and started racing towards where I saw it happen. Just as I parked the truck, I saw it unknown car, speeding against the familiar car, that belongs to Mason. making it tumble a couple of times and land on its roof. Smoke came from the car and I rushed to there as quick as I could. But just as I slammed the door of the truck, Mason's car exploded. I froze on the spot, I couldn't move.

My friend died in front of my eyes. I knew it would happen, but I didn't stop it. I was too late, to slow. It was all my fault. I fell to my knees as tears cascaded down my cheeks. I heard multiple cars come to a screeching stop, doors open and slammed shut. Feet's running, but I didn't care. I couldn't care anymore after I let my friend die. I let him die. I felt arms around me, but when I smelled him, everything came out. vicious sobs coursed through my body as I was turned around and I buried my head into Dimitri's chest. More tears spilled with cry's and wails full of pain.

"it's all my fault" I whimpered but Dimitri just tightened his grip on me.

"Belikov! Rose!" I didn't look up, I just wanted to die. I wanted to trade places with Mason, why couldn't it have been me. Why him? Then, I felt like I was turned around, but I kept my eyes closed, I didn't want to see it again.

"open your eyes Roza." Unsure, I opened my eyes and bursted in tears again.

"I didn't know you could see them too?" I whimpered as I looked up at him. Dimitri looked confused.

"see who, rose? Mason's behind you. He was catapulted out of the car, he only has some broken bones" my eyes widened and I turned around so quick, I got a little dizzy. But I didn't care, I flung myself at mason and hugged the live out of him. Ok, not the time for that joke. I pulled back and fresh tears rolled down my cheeks. Mason smiled and whipped them away.

"I thought you were dead. I saw you die." I whispered. Mason didn't say anything, he just smiled and hugged me back.

"I need to go. Abe wants me in the hospital for a checkup" I nodded and reluctantly let go of him, but I was immediately back into Dimitri's arms. I looked up at him and by the look in his eyes, I knew he had catched my slip up and we would talk about it later. I sighed and walked back to the truck. I was about to step in, when Dimitri grabbed my arm and pulled me roughly to his chest.

"what are you doing?" he asked.

"I was going to drive back home." He shook his head.

"no, not in this state you're not." He walked me to the other side of the truck and put me inside. He walked over to the driver's side and started driving. I closed my eyes, trying to calm down. Then, my phone buzzed. I took it out and saw I had a new message, again from the blocked number.

Consider your friend one of the lucky ones. For once.

I was so fed up, I dialed that number.

"who are you calling?" I heard Dimitri ask, but I was angry. Beyond angry and I wanted answers. Now!

"I'm sorry, but the number you've –" I ended the call and decided to use my abilities learned from the old man.

"hey, can I borrow your phone?" I didn't wait for an answer, I juts fished Dimitri's phone out of his pocket and opened up the database. I didn't have it on mine, because I wasn't a guardian yet. I used his phone, to hack into mine, and copied the blocked number. I dialed in the code on Dimitri's for unblocking a phone number. When that was finished, I dialed it in on my phone and put Dimitri's phone on the dashboard.

I waited for somebody to answer and soon I got it.

"took you long enough, Rosemarie." A male answered, but I knew that voice from somewhere, but I couldn't place it.

" what do you want? You took things a little far, don't you think?" I started to raise my voice, but when I caught Dimitri looking my way, I lowered it again. I heard chuckling, follow by a sigh.

"you know what I want, I told you. I want you to join me. You don't belong there, you belong here, next to me. Ruling the world" I looked at my phone as if it was crazy.

"are you insane? No, wait, don't answer that. What will happen if I don't?" I knew what his answer would be, but some part of me didn't want to accept it.

"I'll make sure you know not to mess with me. Or do you want the same thing to happen to your precious boyfriend? Only, not giving him the chance ti survive?" I gasped, which made Dimitri extremely cautious. I didn't want to hear any more, so I ended to call. Right then and there, I knew what I had to do. And it wouldn't be pretty. I looked outside and saw we were nowhere near the mansion.

"where are we going?" I looked to Dimitri, who wasn't relaxed. He probably heard me. Oh, who am I kidding, he's sitting right next to me, of course he heard me!

"we need to talk, somewhere alone." I knew it! I didn't say anything more, I just turned to the window and looked at the passing cars.

After another 10 minutes, the car stopped and Dimitri got out. he closed the door and walked away from the car. I guess he's really angry. I slowly got out of the car and followed him. We were in front of a lake, somewhere in nobody's land. I found Dimitri not far sitting down in front of that lake, just looking into thin air. I sat down next to him and the only thing the followed was silence.

"what do you want to talk about?" I tried when the silence got too much for me to handle. I tried to innocence act, but that one look I got from him, made it falter.

"why are you hiding from me?" to say I was shocked, was the understatement. What did he know?

"what do you think I'm hiding from you?"

"Rose, you're seeing ghosts." Ouch, Rose? No Roza? Yep, he's angry, alright.

"why do you think that?" I was getting angry now.

"because of the shower incident, then you talking to thin air in the garden. I'm not st-"

"you followed me?" I cut him off. he sighed, but didn't look regretful.

"there was something wrong, and I wanted to know what. Then, how you knew about mason before it even happened! The threats!" he yelled the last. He had never yelled at me, and that just made me angrier.

"you went through my phone?" I shouted back as I jumped up, I couldn't sit down. He actually went through my phone!

"Roza…"

"no! don't Roza me! You hacked into my phone, and you're pissed I'm keeping secrets?" everything that had happened the last few days came out. and I knew Dimitri didn't deserve to be the one who would have to deal with me, but he's just asking for it.

"yes, how long have you been getting threats? You could've been dead now if you didn't say anything!"

"yeah, well I'm not, am I?" I yelled in his face.

"Why do you always have to be so stubborn? You always act like you're on your own, you're not! There are so many people who would help you!" I laughed darkly.

"that's juts it, Dimitri! I don't want help! I don't want to be the weak little girl I was before Abe found me! I don't want to go back to that pathetic little girl! I'm stronger than that and something's are meant to be handled by me and only me!" my throat started to hurt from all the screaming, but it didn't stop me.

"well, maybe I like that girl more than the one in front of me!" I gasped and tears formed in my eyes. I looked down so he wouldn't see them, but he did.

"Roza, no.. I-I- I didn't –"

you don't belong there, you belong with us! Ruling the world.

I looked back up, my face not showing any emotion. Dimitri noticed and fell completely silent. I cleared myself off all my emotions.

"you're right. and she loves you. Too bad she's gone." My voice portrayed the amount of emotion I was feeling, none. It was cold and venomous.

"no, Roza. I love you." I smirked sardonically.

"yeah, well, I don't. not anymore." He looked broken when I said that, but I couldn't care less. I had to do what I had to do. He would've done the same. Ok, maybe not in this exact way, but the outcome would be the same. One of us broken and one of us gone, to protect the other. I turned on my heel and started walking, but Dimitri grabbed my wrist. I tore it out of his grip and did the most painful thing I ever did. For me as well for him. I kneed him in the groin. Hard. I tensed my jaw, to keep me from canceling my plan. But I need to do this. I turned back around and got into his truck.

I drove around for hours, not knowing where I had to go. Then, my phone buzzed.

Finally, took you long enough

It had an address as well. I just drove to it. I still hadn't let my emotions back in, if I would I would turn this truck around and drove right back. After a while, I arrived. I parked dimit- his truck some distance away from the house, not wanting anything to happen to it. I walked and eventually came to a house standing in the woods. It wasn't exactly new, but it wasn't old either. I walked over and knocked on the door. The door opened but nobody was there.

"real mature" I mumbled as I entered. I looked around, but there wasn't a sign of life. Then, a piece of gauze was placed over my mouth and I blacked out.

DPOV

After the most of the pain of Roza's knee in my manhood was gone, I stood up and looked around. She was really gone, she really left. So I started walking, I wasn't far from the mansion, but it was still a good 30 minute walk.

God, why did I have to yell at her? That look she had in her eyes when she looked down, those unshed tears. Knowing I made her cry, made me feel terrible. My head was constantly filled with those thoughts until I reached the front door. I found the spare key under the door and walked inside.

"where Rose?" Lissa asked. I looked up at her and just walked past her to Roza's room. Once there, I let myself collapse onto her bad. It smelled just like her.

"Dimitri?" I looked up, Lissa sat down next to me. That was everything it took for me to spill about everything. The threats, the ghosts, our fight and she leaving. When I finished, she was in tears.

"no, she's not. No." she sobbed. And for the first time in many years, I cried.

RPOV

I woke up in a dark room. Well, there was light on, but this room gave me a dark feeling. There was a fire pit in the middle of the room. 2 of the 4 walls was filled with all sorts of stuff, guns and knives and some other creepy stuff. No windows and only one door. I tried to move, but I was tied to a chair with ducktape.

"great." I grumbled.

"I thought you wanted me to join you, not torture me!" I yelled to whoever was listening, because I knew somebody was listening. And judging by the cruel, cold laughter that came from the shadows on my left, I was right. a man stepped from the shadows. And by the looks of it he was old. He used a cane to hold himself upright but still limped. He had a mask on, like the ones from an Italian carnival, so I couldn't see his face.

"you never change do you?" and he used a voice changer, clever.

"people don't change" I kept my voice as cold as possible, but he wasn't fooled.

"too bad, because you will."

And with that, 2 big bulky men came. They both had dangerous objects in their hands. One had a metal pipe and the other had a knife.

A freaking big one!

I swallowed as the old man walked back and put on the fire pit. The 2 other men didn't wear masks, which said something. Why would their leader wear one and not them? I wasn't really paying attention anymore and that was a mistake. I sharp pain shot through my arm and I dragged down. I looked at it and saw one of the man had cut me. The pain was worse because it came as I surprise. He kept cutting me, I tried not to scream. I wouldn't give them the satisfaction to see me crack. I wouldn't crack. After 10 minutes of cutting, I was barely conscious, but I was hanging on.

Then, I felt like a thousand knives were stabbing me. I gasped as I tried to get away, but I couldn't go. Only then did I realize it was ice water and I was clearly awake again. But it only got worse. Yes, the cutting stopped, but the other guy didn't have his turn yet. So, when he stepped forward, I mentally prepared myself. But when he hit me everywhere with the metal pole, I cracked. I screamed for dear life.

Hoping somebody would hear me, but who was I kidding?
