Chapter 9

Bay was having a great time and it looked like nothing could ruin her night. Until she got home. She opened the door, with a smile on her face from her goodbye kiss to Fred, but it dropped when she saw the living room turned upside down. Broken vases, the coffee table split in half, the fire place had been blown up and family portraits on the floor, shattered glasses everywhere and the chandelier had fallen down, with the wires on the ceiling spitting sparks.

"Mom?! Dad?!" She yelled.

She ran to the kitchen that was just as bad: fridge down, broken table and shattered plates. She ran upstairs, calling for them again and only a few burnt parts of the wall were seen. The door of her parents' room was a bit opened and she slowed her pace.

"Mom?" she whispered, "dad?"

She pushed the door opened with her fingertips and saw her mother in a casual dress, lying on her bed, peacefully. Too peacefully. She paced to her and grabbed her wrist, but dropped it when she felt it cold.

"Mom!" She called, shaking it. "Mom, please!"

The door shut close and she turned to it. A man in black and a silver mask stood in the way and her mouth dropped, she knew what he was. She took out her wand from her pocket and grabbed it firm.

"What did you do to her?!" she barked, "Why?!"

The man grinned and his hand moved to his face. She shivered, but stood stronger in case he tried anything, but she wasn't ready to his reveal. Her father was looking back at her.

"W-why?" she gasped.

"The Dark Lord is in the open…big plans are on their way, so I don't need to continue with this life anymore, with this experiment." He looked at her with disgust.

"Stupeffy!" she shouted, but he blocked. "Wingardium leviosa!" She cried to the brown dresser and flew it to him, slamming him against the wall.

She pointed her wand to the door and a red ball of light flew to it, but nothing happened. Until she ran to the door and passed through it. She ran down stairs, but black smoked received her at the end of the stairs and she froze. She jumped over the realms and walked backwards.

"I can though, stop this if you join me, sweet heart"

"Fuck off." She mumbled in rage.

"It's your funeral." He said, shrugging lightly. "Crucio!"

She dropped to the floor and started to twist and turn, as she groaned and let out a few cries. He moved his wand and it felt like her blood was free to run again. She gasped for air and when he walked closer she grabbed her wand and snapped a spell at him, sending him flying up and hitting part of the wall and ceiling. She got up, weakly, but with eyes on him. He fell on his knees on the floor, but still snap his wand at her, pushing her back against a wall. He was walking towards her with pride when she pointed at him again.

"Aqua erupto!" and a gush of water blasted to him. "Wingardium leviosa!"

With her wand, she guided the wet men towards the spot where the living room chandelier used to be. The wires touched his wet coat and he started to tremble with shocks of electricity.

"Accio broom!" She yelled right when her father fell to the floor, with his body still jumping with shocks.

A broom flew down from her room, she hooped on it and flew out of the house through the glass window. She could have apparated, but had no idea where to go. For the time being, she wanted to be alone and have time to think. Her own father was a death eater and he had killed her mother. Who could she trust? Fred, George and their family were the first in her mind, but she wanted to be alone and think of something else. What if she turned her father in? To who? She wasn't thinking straight and for that she almost crashed into a three. When she couldn't see clear anymore because of her tears, she landed on the rooftop of a building and dropped on her knees. Her wand rolled away from her and she cried.

Fred and George were questioning why Bay didn't came in before the store opened. They wondered more after an hour and when it was almost lunch they were worried. Fred joked about their mother's cooking getting to her, but George only chuckled. Bay hadn't miss a day of work and they knew she would owl them with a reason. Fred went to his flat after he decided to be the one to send her the owl, but saw Errol on their couch.

"How long have you been up here?" He asked the owl who looked tired and as if he had hit the glass window again.

He looked down and saw an envelope on the floor. He picked it up and it wasn't good news, he hope they weren't bad either. He gave Errol a treat and sent it off with nothing. He rushed downstairs and gave the letter to George.

"It's dad," he said before George could read it well, "he said he wants us home before noon."

"Why?" George asked, taking his brother's word and not reading it.

"I don't know, says it's important and if Bay is with us that she should come too."

"Do you think it has to do with her then?"

"I'm guessing." Fred responded, passing a hand through his hair, "Let's turn the sign and finish with these clients."

"Alright." George said, nodding as he hid the letter in his back pocket.

He turned the sign to 'closed' not knowing when they will be back while Fred checked out the costumers that were going to buy. Those that remain received the announcement from George that they had to leave for the day due to personal reasons. If they wanted to buy something, they did quickly and those who had no business there left. They apparated inside the Burrow, in the living room. The people in there yelp with their appearance and they grinned, but when they saw the serious faces, they stopped and gulped. Their parents were sitting in the couch, together, Lupin and Tonks were by the fireplace and a woman they didn't know was in the single chair. She had black hair, seemed short, even if she was sitting, and wore a dark, gray woman suit. She looked the most concerned of all. Beyond them, Harry, Ron, Hermione and Ginny stood, also worried.

"What's going on?" George asked.

"Where's Bay?" Arthur asked.

"She didn't show up." Fred said and they heard the woman sigh and passed her hands over her face.

"Is she alright?!" The twins asked with concern.

Arthur looked at the woman who didn't look up, then at Lupin who was there for any back up and ideas, but he wasn't the one to tell them the news.

"This is Marisa, Bay's aunt, her mother's sister." Arthur started, and the twins could tell, she had a certain quality that reminded them of Bay, "She came to the ministry, looking for me after he went to her house." Fred looked at George and he looked back, they wanted to push their dad to speak, but if the news were what they expected, they wanted to shut him up, "The Miller's house was destroyed, her mother was found dead and Marisa found her father regaining strength from a fight."

"Someone broke in to her house?" Fred asked.

"No," the woman with a shaking voice spoke, "her father killed my sister. And he attacked me." She stood, "I got her patronus, calling me to come over; she seemed scared and said something about him turning on her. When I got there I found out he was a death eater." George shook his head lightly and Fred licked his lips, "I asked about Bay, but he said he had gotten to her too, but there wasn't any other body there. We fought for a while, but he got away."

"I-I'm sorry about your sister." Fred was able to say.

"But Bay?" George asked.

"We don't know where she is, that's why we sent for you." Arthur said.

"We think, maybe he didn't get her and only said that to make Marisa believe she had lost her too, but how he was, we also believe they fought." Lupin commented.

"They did, I think she flew," Marisa added, "her broom wasn't there."

"Did you kids heard anything over night?" Molly asked the younger ones, "Did she come over?"

"Like we said," Ginny started, "we saw her last night, then she left and we haven't seen her since."

"Yeah, we wouldn't hide her from this." Ron said.

"What's going to happen to her if you find her?" Harry asked.

"Nothing." Lupin said, "She can't be out alone after this, she should be with family."

"It's like Ginny said," Fred took over, "we went to the shop last night after dinner, said goodbye, I even apparated with her in her neighborhood to make sure she was alright." He paused, "I should have stayed with her longer."

"We have to go and look for her." George said.

"Remus and I can go back to her place," Tonks suggested, "It's probably safer for us than you, Marisa."

"I appreciate it."

"We'll check the shop real quick." Fred said.

"What else could she be?" George asked.

"Muggle London?" Fred suggested. "She likes it there and hiding between muggles it's a good shot for her."

"Unfortunately, not these days." Lupin added, sadly.

"Let's go!" George said.

"We'll be right back." Fred said before they disappeared.

"Well we can help too." Ron said.

"Yeah, write to McGonagall, maybe she went to Hogwarts." Hermione suggested it. "It's the safest place."

"It's not that easy. She couldn't just apparate there." Molly reminded them.

"If she flew all night, maybe she got there." Harry said, after all, Ron and him had their experience of flying to Hogwarts.
"There's no harm in trying." Marisa said, sitting back down.

"I'll get right on it." Hermione said, heading to the kitchen, followed by Ginny.

Fred and George checked every corner of the shop. Then went out to Diagon Alley, but she wasn't anywhere. Fred and George had gotten back to the Burrow without any news. Hermione had gotten a letter back from McGonagall saying she had heard of the accident, but didn't know about Bay's whereabouts and neither did Dumbledore. That was all Harry, Ron, Hermione and Ginny could do since they went back to Hogwarts the next morning. The twins paced around while their parents thought of places they could check or things they could do. Arthur went back to work and find out what he could. Lupin and Tonks did their own search with the Order, but that didn't calm them down. Less when everyone came empty handed.

She didn't even know where she was. She woke up on the same building roof, confused. She didn't remember what happened until it all hit her like one of the spells her own father threw at her the night before. She passed a hand over her hair and closed her eyes to get used to the light. She had done all the crying she needed to do, and it was time to plan where she would go. She thought of her aunt, Marisa, but what if that's where her father expected her to go and wanted to kill her too? She could go to the shop, but it was another obvious place, so was the Burrow. Maybe Hogwarts, she could fly there and send Fred and George an owl or check with a teacher and help her see if it was safe for her to head to her aunt's. She remembered Mr. Weasley, she could go to the ministry, but if they knew of the attack and saw her, they would ask her about it and she wanted to forget it. Her aunt it was, she ended her thoughts. She took out her wand and casted a patronus, a white cat purred out and she spoke to it.

"Aunt Marisa, it's Bay...I'm coming over, but please, please be alone and don't tell anyone. Please. I'm alright."

The cat flew away in a light blue, almost white light. She waited until the clouds covering the sun passed so she could take off when no one dared to look at the sun. She flew after the patronus, but slower to give him time to deliver the message. The light faded from her sight and she speeded up a little, but also took the longer road over less civilization to not be seen. She arrived at her aunt's home, which was still intact and with 'alohomora' she went inside. Her patronus was still there, meaning no message had been received. She placed her broom by the door and went into the living room. She saw the pictures, not many since she was still a single woman and mostly were her with Bay's mother or with her. Marisa loves Bay like her own daughter, that's why, for one mother's day when Bay was in her second year at Hogwarts, she sent her a framed moving picture of both of them so she would remember she had a daughter in her. She saw another, the Miller family with Marisa and she frowned at her father, smiling at the camera with a genuine smile, but now it seemed fake. She grabbed the frame and threw it against a wall, letting it break and shatter.

If you read 'Young & Reckless' it'll be like Deja Vu, but I'm not planning for this to be a main problem in the story. Its just something to like give the trio a reason to move on from their pass situation. Also, it has been so long since I wrote this, so it'll be sloppy until I find the motive I had. But I don't want to leave it unfinished, so I will, either, finish it as I can or delete it.

Thanks for reading :)
