Present Day
Reborn spent the night in his apartment. After reviewing the day's events, he switched the monitors to the Sawada residence and watched as Tsuna and his mother discussed their pasts and futures.

When Tsuna woke the next morning, his back ached. Taking in his surroundings, he realized that, along with his mother, he had fallen asleep on the couch. Stretching carefully, he avoided waking her.
Since it was Sunday morning and early, the others were sound asleep. Smiling to himself, Tsuna remembered that Sunday mornings used to be like this before Reborn arrived. Thinking of his tutor, the brunet reviewed the events caused by Reborn the past week and a half.
As he began preparing coffee, he tried to look at things from his mother's point of view. In less than two weeks, she learned new things about her father, Yamamoto's family, Shamal, and her first love, Reborn. Tsuna shivered at that thought.
Waiting for the coffee to brew, his heart swelled with pride. He was proud of how his mother reacted to his secrets. The soon-to-be mafia don knew his mother would love ad support him no matter what. That knowledge seemed to spark something inside him. If his mother could accept who he was, it was time for him to do the same.
Pouring coffee into two mugs, Tsuna felt a new presence in the house. Sighing, he turned to face the man that had changed his word forever.
"Reborn."

Reborn watched as his student poured coffee. The tensing of Tsuna's shoulders spoke more than words. Not only did Tsuna know he was there, he wasn't afraid. Briefly, the hitman wondered if this was the final straw that needed to break before the brunet accepted his role as Neo Vongola Primo.
As the teen turned to face him, Reborn met his eyes and simply stated, "Decimo."
The brunet did not flinch as the hitman used 'Decimo' in place of 'Dame-Tsuna', but he did pause. Reborn watched as Tsuna bit his lip instead of crying 'HIEEE'. Nodding slightly, the teen approached him warily.
Setting one of the cups of coffee before Reborn, Tsuna sat across from him.
Sipping his black coffee, Reborn continued to stare at Tsuna. Carefully, he re-evaluated his student. Tsuna sat silently. He was neither flinching nor breaking eye contact with Reborn. Actually, the brunet seemed composed as he waited for the hitman to speak.
Smirking, Reborn broke their staring contest by pulling his fedora over his eyes. "You have grown up. Not a lot, but enough."

Not moving, the only reaction to Reborn's words Tsuna's showed was a widening of his caramel eyes. Briefly, a smile tugged at his lips. 'Reborn thought he had grown up. Wow.' Pulling his thoughts from himself, he tried to focus on his mother and tutor.
Sighing, he spoke, "You are not here for me. You are here for her, right?"
The teen could see the grimace behind the smirk when Reborn answered, "I am here because Nono asked me to be. But yes, today I am here for Nana's answer."
Pushing down the angry and fear that filled his stomach Tsuna simply stated, "Not today."
In the silence that followed, Tsuna watched the chameleon, Leon, crawl down Reborn's arm to the table. When the hitman's hand twitched as if to grasp and transform the pet, Tsuna spoke again. "You have upset my life enough in the past year, which is fine. But in the past three weeks my mother has lost her husband and learned of the secrets surrounding her," pausing, Tsuna rubbed a hand across his face. "So, today you… today all of us will give her normal… a normal Sunday without secrets or expectations. Today you will let her be."
Tasting bile, Tsuna prayed that Reborn would not kill him. He was trying so hard to be the man of the house and the man Reborn expected to see, yet he wasn't sure he was doing it right.
The hitman prompted "And?" startling Tsuna.
Swallowing the bile, he finished, "And tomorrow you can ask for you answer."

Reborn was amazed by his student. Tsuna had stood up to him, even though the brunet was shaking inside. Nodding in agreement, the hitman stood swiftly and reached for the teen. As Tsuna flinched and closed his eyes, Reborn smirked.
Since the boy didn't cry or run away, the hitman patted him on his head instead of hitting him with a mallet. As he left through the window, his parting words were simple.
"You did well, Neo Vongola Primo."

Nana could hear the two talking in the kitchen, yet she was too exhausted to move. As she listened to their conversation, her pride in Tsu-kun only grew more. Yet, the words Ren-kun spoke when she left helped her to decide.
She knew what answer she would be giving Ren-kun tomorrow. Better yet, she knew what the future would hold for her family.
Smiling, the mother of many stood. Straightening her clothes, she looked to the stairs. Her son may be in the kitchen, but the rest of her children still slept.
She would protect her family and her heart. With shoulders free of weight, she began her normal Sunday routine.
