Hi there guys! I'm sooo sorry for the delay, but anyway, here it is. I'm losing my inspiration on this story, I don't think I'm going to continue it, anyway let me know what you think.

We're back to the present. YAY.

I don't own Teen Titans or Batman or Alfred or anything but this silly plot.

His eyes fluttered open. He slowly adjusted to the fluorescent lights that illuminated the room. He rose slowly, his joints protesting as he had fallen asleep on the floor next to Raven's bed. He caressed her forehead softly and then held her hand in his as he sat next to her.

"What's wrong with you Rae?" he whispered tiredly. He looked up and checked the clock. He had dozed off a couple of hours and it was now past midday. His eyes traveled back to her comatose form. She laid silently on the bed, the monitors and machines connected to her hummed and beeped, everything seemed stable.

The monotonous ambience cracked as the door opened and Batman stepped inside.

"You're awake," the dark knight commented as he approached the younger hero and handed him a brown folder, "I have her lab results back."

"What's this substance?" Nightwing asked as he skimmed through the pages of the report.

"It's a truly strong sedative, very rare. My lucky guess is that it's blocking her powers, hence her inability to heal."

"How do we get it out of her system then?"

"We can't. Her own body will get rid of it eventually. It should be gone by now, maybe a couple of hours more."

Nightwing was going to ask his mentor more questions but he felt Raven stir. He faced her and held her hand while the stirring became more violent, she trashed and twisted as if she was experiencing immense pain.

"It's okay Rae, I'm here," he cooed as he restrained her arms with his strong hands. "You're safe."

Her eyes flew open but her stare was lost, as if she were in a trance. "Don't do this, please don't hurt him," she mumbled and shook her head feverishly. The masked hero helped her sit on the bed and he wrapped his arms around her, her body trembling uncontrollably, as he rocked his body back and forth, trying to sooth her pain. "Please Jason—don't to it, don't…"

Batman and Nightwing froze as the name fell from Raven's lips. They stared at each other in shock. The only Jason they knew was dead. Before they could process what they had just experienced they were brought back to reality by the loud and quick beeping of Raven's heartbeat. Her heart rate was off the charts. Her eyes closed suddenly and she fell back limply into Nightwing's arms.

"Shit," Batman muttered as he rushed to a cabinet where they stored the emergency drugs. He quickly came back and injected a yellowish substance into Raven's IV line. In a matter of seconds her heart rate stabilized and Nightwing sighed in relief.

"What the hell was that?" he whispered, not able to speak properly.

"The drug is wearing off, so probably a side effect of the sedative. She'll be fine," his mentor reassured him. Nightwing looked away from Raven to thank him but he was already gone.

He stood and laid the tired girl down on the mattress. He brought a chair near and sat beside her, his eyes never leaving her.

It was almost four o'clock when Alfred came in with a silver tray. The vigilante had refused to eat but the butler insisted that he needed the energy to take care of her. "She will be upset if she wakes up and finds you starved Master Richard. And I won't allow that either."

Raven gasped and her eyes shot open. She tried taking in her surroundings but she was lost. Her thoughts were hazy and a terrible headache was attacking her already. White lights blinded her and she blinked a few times to adjust to the abrupt brightness. Suddenly she remembered the water around her, her numb limbs fruitlessly trying to fight through the effects of the sedative he had injected her with. But where was she? She only remembered the water, pressing her down, drowning her persistently, the waves crashing her, and her last thought as she had lost consciousness… Richard. She tried to sit up but a wave of dizziness struck her and she fell back on the pillows. The stench of disinfectant and the beeping sounds alerted her she was in some kind of… hospital? Great. Her thoughts were interrupted when she felt a dull prickling sensation on her back. The bond (or what was left of it).

"Rae?" she heard his deep voice call out and in a second he had appeared in her field of vision. His masked eyes focused on her intently, his hands reaching out to frame her pale face. Her amethyst eyes widened in surprise but no words came out from her lips as he hugged her tightly. "Thank God you're okay Rae," he said softly, his voice about to break. He hid his face on the crook of her neck, inhaling her faint scent. "I'm sorry, I'm truly sorry."

They stayed in each other's arms for a while, enjoying the silence, or maybe they were just too afraid to speak, to finally voice the pain and the struggle, the lies and the misunderstandings that had transpired between them, all of these months apart. Maybe what they feared the most was to voice the truth.

Finally, placing her hands on his chest, Raven pushed him away, unhurriedly. He looked down at her but she avoided his gaze, unable to stand the pain that his stare inflicted on her. He reached out to her, trying to place his hand under her chin, and to be able to look into her eyes, but she refused, turning away from him.

"Please don't," she whispered, her voice quivering slightly as tears menaced to spill, though she managed to hold them back.

"I'm sorry Raven," he sighed in defeat. "I never wanted to hurt you."

But you did, in every possible way, she thought to herself.

"I need to know what happened. I found you by the docks, you had almost drowned…" he explained trying to keep it together, "I thought I'd lost you Rae, I…"

"But you already had Nightwing. You lost me months ago." She finally met his gaze. "I don't know what came over me; I don't know why I reached out to you. But don't worry, I won't bother you again, I promise."

"Raven. I won't let you leave; you can't even use your powers…" he told her as she tried to lift herself from the bed but failed. "Please, I was just trying to protect you, I need to know the truth."

"Fine, I'll tell you what happened and I'll stay until my powers come back, but then I'm gone Richard. For good."

Ok that was it. I really don't know where this is heading, I don't feel like continuing it, it was born as a one-shot so I never planned out a serious plot or anything at all. Sorry guys, I didn't even proof read it, just wrote it and here it is. Please review, and tell me if I should keep it up or cancel it.

Xoxo
