I almost didn't post this because I have a lot of homework I should be doing instead of editing this chapter and posting it, but whatever.

Procrastination.

It's what Fandoms are for.

November 30th, 1709

"Jack?"

"Jack, wake up."

The brunette's eyes cracked open revealing, tired, dull brown eyes. "What Emma?"

"We're meeting our new family today." She said, not happily or giggly like her usual mood, but not sad or gloomy.

Jack sat up from the couch he had been sleeping on.

"C'mon," He said, taking his sister's hand. He helped her put on her coat and boots, and then walked outside into the snow. It was still early morning, and was a bit foggy out.

"Wanna play?" Emma asked Jack.

Jack shook his head. "No, Emma."

Emma pouted and sat down in the snow while Jack stayed standing, looking at the sky. Soon a man walked out of the house behind Jack and put his hand on the boy's shoulder.

"Ready, Jackson?" The man asked. He had thick auburn hair and a stubble.

Jack nodded, and held his hand out for Emma.

The man walked with Emma and Jack across town, passing the wreckage of their old house. Jack bit his lip and looked down at his feet as they past. They walk past a few firepits, only one with fire in it and a few adults standing around it.

He lead the Overland siblings to a house right at the edge of the woods and knocked on the door. The three waited a minute until the door opened and a little girl around Emma's age stood there will blonde hair that fell to her shoulders.

"Mommy!" The girl called.

A woman with dark hair up in a bun rushed over in front of the girl. "Oh!" She said, putting on a soft smile. "You must be the Overlands."

She held her hand out to Jack. "I'm Mary Lewis, you can call me Mary."

Jack stared at her hand, and Emma nudged him. "Jack, don't be rude."

He half-heartedly took her hand. "Jackson."

Mary gave him a sympathetic smile, then looked at Emma. "Ooh, you're very pretty," Mary said, then bent over a little and held out her hand.

Emma giggle a little bit and shook the offered hand. "I'm Emma."

Mary smiled at her. "Would you like to come in, Emma?" Mary looked at Jack. "Jackson?"

Emma nodded, and Mary looked at the man behind them.

The man regarded Emma and Jack. "Will you two be fine?"

Jack nodded a bit, his eyes on the ground.

The man said goodbye and left to go back to his home.

"Come inside," Mary stepped aside and gestured for them to walk in. Emma walked in, pulling Jack behind her. Mary lead them into the living room, where the blonde girl who was probably a year older than Emma sat playing with a doll. There was also a boy, about a year younger than Emma with shaved brown hair sitting in a rocking chair near the unlit fireplace.

Mary looked at the boy and girl and said, "Children, this is Jack and Emma. They are going to say with us from now on."

The girl stood up and rushed over to Emma. "Hi, I'm Anna, do you want to play with me?"

"Okay," Emma said, taking off her coat and picking up another doll.

The boy in the rocking chair waved at Jack as Mary left the room. Jack's eyes flicked to the fireplace before walking over to the boy.

"Hello," Jack said, his voice tired and dull.

The boy smiled.

"That's Richard." Anna said suddenly. Jack looked over at her. "He can't talk, but you can call him Richie."

Jack looked back at Richie. "So you can't talk?" He asked, interested.

Richie shook his head and tapped his own throat.

"Huh." Jack said, sitting on the floor next to him. "Do you like snow?"

Richie grinned and nodded. Jack's lips twitched. "Me too."

The younger boy stood up and walked over to the door, pointing outside.

"You want to go outside?" Jack asked, and Richie nodded. "Let me ask first."

Jack got up and walked into the little kitchen where Mary was. "Can I take Richie outside?"

Mary smiled brightly at Jack's slightly lifted mood. "Sure, honey, just be careful."

Jack nodded and walked back into the living room. He helped the eight year old put his boots and coat on. Jack still had his coat on, and shoes so they got outside quickly. Richie ran over to a snow pile and threw some snow in the air.

Jack smiled. Just a little.

Jack picked up some snow and made it into a ball, then tossed it at Richie's back. Richie jumped a bit and then spun around, grinning. He picked up his own snowball and threw it at Jack, hitting him in the chest. Jack grinned, and started throwing more snowballs and dogging others, and soon enough, he laughed.

"Can't catch me Richie!" He teased.

Richie stuck his tongue out and laughed silently.

"I wonder if this is why he gets along with you so well, Sandy," Tooth said quietly.

They were all still in shock from the last memory. Sandy shrugged a bit.

"Tooth?" Bunny asked solemnly. "What part of his memories is he stuck it? Because if it wasn't that last one, I can't imagine what it is."

"I… don't know, Bunny." Tooth said.

Jack gather snow in his arms and ran over to Richie, dumping it on his head. Richie brushed it off with his arms, laughing silently.

"Boys!" Mary called. "Come inside!"

Jack looked up at the sky and saw there was a storm coming. He rushed Richie inside and they took of their outerwear. Richie was still grinning quite a bit, while Jack had just a small, slightly sad smile.

"Jack, Jack!" Emma said excitedly. "Anna is a good singer too, just like you are!"

Jack looked at the blushing Anna and ruffled her hair, "Wow, you'll have to show me sometime.

"Okay," Anna said.

Jack looked into the living room and saw a fire in the fireplace. Suddenly he saw Jakoby laying in front of it, screaming, holding the side of his face as fire spread across the room. Jack couldn't breath, he clutched at his chest and panted trying to get air down his lungs. He coughed, smoke blocking his vision as he searched for Emma and Jakoby.

Jack!

Someone was calling him. He looked around and gasped at David reached out of the fire towards him. He scrambled backwards and fell. "No!" he yelled, putting his arms up.

Jack!

He tried to gulp in air at the smoke grew denser around him and-

"Jack!"

"Jackson, calm down! You're safe!"

Jack blinked and shook his head. He was sitting on the floor near the door, with Mary next to him, her hand on his shoulders, and a worried expression on her face. Emma, Anna and Richie stood behind her, looking at Jack in panic.

"Wh-what?" Jack gasped out, trying to get his breath back.

"He had a flashback." North said.

"More like a panic attack." Tooth replied. "But I think his hatred for fire goes deeper than we thought. It's fear, not hate."

Jack gulped. "What happened?"

Mary bit her lip, "I think you were panicking. Do you want me to put the fire out?"

Jack nodded. Mary gave him a sad smile, and walked the rest of the way into the living room and started to put it out.

Emma knelt down next to her older brother. "Are you okay, Jack?"

Jack shook his head, tears forming at the edges of his eyes.

No. He was not okay.

December 29th, 1710

The now fifteen year old Jack, lay in the snow, the sun setting behind him. Emma walked over and sat next to him.

"Jack?" Emma said.

Jack bit his lip and turned away.

Emma sighed. "Jack, I know what you're going through, but you need to talk about it."

Jack sighed and slowly sat up. "Okay, fine." he crossed his legs, facing Emma.

Emma twirled her finger in the snow. "We need to accept the Jakoby is gone."

Jack looked down and shook his head.

Emma took Jack's hands. "Please Jack. Listen."

Jack didn't respond.

"Jakoby died in the fire," Emma started, Jack's eyes welled with tears. "He was my big brother, and your twin."

Jack let out a shaking breath.

"He was fourteen, and died after David beat him."

Jack let out a sob and curled into himself, but still held onto Emma's hands.

"But he died saving me." Emma said. "And we need to remember that."

Jack broke down, full out crying, and Emma pulled his arms forward slowly and hugged him, letting her older brother cry into her shoulder.

"It's okay, Jack," Emma whispered calmly. "You don't have to be strong anymore."

"But I do," Jack sobbed out. "For you E-Emma."

Emma buried her face in his shoulder. "Let it go, Jack."

The Overland siblings held onto each other for a long time, just sitting in the snow quietly.

Jack sniffed and pulled back, wiping his eyes. He gave Emma a small smile that she returned. "We're moving on."

Phew! Now that the emotional trauma is over.

First of all: Anna and Richie

In the movie when you see Jack's memories, in almost all of them you see Jack, his unnamed sister, a blonde girl, and a little boy all about the same age. I couldn't find anything about the two online, but I wanted to include them anyways.
