Gelu and Calor mean snow and heat in Latin.
So I'm going to say this now because you all with hate me after this chapter. I love you all. You are all so friendly and supportive, and most of you have stuck by me. I have almost 400 reviews! 400! I have no one to thank you all of you wonderful people. I don't know all your names, or what you look like or even if your male or female. But I love you all anyways.
Thank you.
The five waited for the next memory, but nothing happened. They were suddenly being tossed through different memories, hearing sounds from different points of Jack's human life. Memories flashed around them, out of order.
"What's happening?" Tooth asked over the noise.
"I don't know!" Bunny said back. He glanced at Jack and saw the boy's eyes were shut and he was standing still. "It's Jack." Bunny said. "He's still hanging onto that last memory."
"What do we do?" North asked.
Bunny grabbed Jack's shoulders and lightly shook him. "Jack! You need to let it go!" Tooth pulled Bunny away from Jack and took his pale face in her hands.
"Jack you need to open your eyes. You have to move on."
Jack slowly opened his icy blue eyes, but it didn't look like he was actually seeing.
"Jack, focus!" North said, looking at Sandy for help.
Sandy swiftly flew over to Jack, and Tooth got out of the way. Sandy put his hands on Jack's temples and looked into those blue eyes. Jack's head was suddenly filled with the sound of moving sand and wind and crashing water. He could hear wind blowing through leaves , blowing through sand and it sounded like a voice.
Jack blinked, finally focusing, in awe of Sandy's voice.
"I'm moving on." Jack said.

"Where's Richie?" Emma asked, walking alongside Anna as the two strode up to Jack who was sitting on a low tree branch.
Sixteen year old Jack shrugged and leaned back against the tree. The two girls gave him a look. They did not trust this situation one bit. Emma started to walk toward Jack when Richie suddenly shot out of a leaf pile near her, and Jack jumped forwards, imitating a roar.
Emma and Anna shrieked, and Emma fell backwards.
Jack started laughing, and put his arm on Richie's head.
Emma pouted. "Jack, you're mean!"
Jack grinned. "Psshh, you love me."
She got up and crossed her arms, walking back over to Anna. Richie stuck his tongue out at them.
Jack looked at Richie. "Girls are weird, huh?" Richie nodded and Jack smiled mischievously, then picked up a pile of leaves, and whispered something in Richie's ear.
Richie's eyes lit up and he scooped up leaves too.
"Go!" Jack yelled, and the two boys started to throw and dump leaves on the girls. Anna and Emma screeched, trying to brush the leaves out of their hair as more rained down on top of them.
"Stop, stop, stop!" Anna said, laughing regardless.
Emma was giggling and trying to shoo the boys away, but more and more leaves jump kept getting dumped on them.
They ending up falling on their backs and Richie and Jack buried the laughing girls in the multi colored leaves.
"Boys!" Mary said with a worried tone, stepping out the back door of their house. "Stop that!"
Anna sat up. "It's okay, mother!"
Emma sat up too. "We're fine, we're having fun!"
Mary gave them a bit of a smile. "You'll get your dresses all dirty."
"Aw, come on…"Anna said and stood up, brushing the leaves out of her hair and off her dress, Emma doing the same.
A new memory faded in, normally this time.

It was dark out and Jack was walking through the town, a dark brown cloak over his shoulders that he held shut. He seemed to be looking for someone, or something. There was a layer of fresh, untouched snow covering the ground, and more large fluffy snowflakes fell from the sky. Each time Jack exhaled, a puff of white smoke came out of his mouth.
There were only a few other people outside, just a couple of men gathered around one of the fire pits in the ground. Jack walked past the fire, looking around. He went to the edge of town, and looked around for a little while before finally heading back to his house.
He shut the door behind himself and was immediately attacked by Anna, and landed on his rear.
"Did you find it!" She asked frantically, sitting on Jack's legs.
He gave her a half smile. "I'm sorry, Anna. I couldn't find your doll."
Anna pouted. "Oh…"
Jack lifted her chin with his finger. "Hey don't cry." He brushed a thumb across her cheek. "Want to help me make you a new one?"
Anna's eyes lit up. "Yes!" She scrambled off of him so he could take off his cloak and shoes. She ran into the next room, where the fire in the fireplace was lit. Jack stayed in the hall.
She ran back to him and handed him a bunch of cloth. "Here!"
Jack laughed. "You'll have to teach me."
Anna got all serious. "You're right." They sat on the wooden floor, Anna instructing Jack how put everything together. After a while, Anna held up what she had made which was a white and yellow floppy bunny. Jack held up his failed attempt to make the same thing, but white and blue.
Anna laughed at how ridiculous it looked. "I'm going to keep both of them!"
Jack looked at the thing in his hand with a frown. "Are you sure? This looks pretty bad."
Anna yanked it out of his hand and hugged both toys to her chest. "They are beautiful."
Jack laughed. "Okay, then. What are you going to name them?"
Anna looked at the two bunnies with a look of concentration. "Um, this one is Gelu," She held up the one Jack had made. "And this one is Calor," she held up the one she made.
"Where did you come up with those names?" Jack asked.
Anna shrugged and stood up. "Thank you Jack!" She said before running off.
February 19th, 1712
The memory started with the now seventeen year old Jack bolting upright in his bed. He was covered in sweat, his eyes wide and was breathing as if he had just woken from a nightmare. He inhaled and exhaled deeply, falling back onto his bed. It was dark outside the window, it still being night. Jack ran a shaky hand through his chestnut hair and threw off his covers, setting his bare feet on the cool wooden floor. He looked at the other bed that Richie was asleep in and quietly walked toward the door. He walked across the hall to the next door and pushed it open enough to look inside.
Anna was sleeping soundlessly, but Emma was thrashing around in her bed. Jack sighed and walked swiftly into the room. He shook Emma awake and she bolted up, ready to run out of the room, but Jack quickly quieted her.
"Emma, you're okay," He whispered, sitting on the bed with her and pulling her into an embrace.
Tears slid down Emma's face, her hand gripping his bed shirt like he would disappear if she let go. "I had that nightmare again."
"I did too," Jack said into her hair. "But we're okay now. You're safe with me, okay?"
Emma nodded into Jack's chest. She pulled back, looking up at Jack with big brown eyes. "I was scared Jack." She hugged him tightly again. "I thought you were gone."
Jack held her tighter, before pulling back to look her in the eyes. "Don't be afraid Emma. Never be afraid."
Emma's eyes flickered and she looked away. "Jakoby used to say that." She whispered.
"What?"
She turned back to her brother. "Jakoby used to say that to you."
"I know," Jack said quietly, his eyes downcast.
Small arms wrapped around him again.
"I miss him."
"Me too, Emma, I miss his so much," Jack said, his eyes were shadowed as he rested his cheek on Emma's head.
"We should do something," Emma said. "Just you and me."
"What do you mean?" Jack asked softly.
"You and I never get to do anything anymore," Emma started. "Anna and Richie are always with us."
"But you like to play with them."
"I do." She said. "But we should go do something… like we used to."
Jack was quiet for a second. "Then what would you like to do?"
"Um…" Emma thought for a second. "Oh I know!"
She said pulling away from Jack in excitement.
Jack put a finger to his lips, reminding her Anna was still sleeping. "What?" He asked.
"Jack, we should go ice skating!"
*sad smile*
