Hi folks,
Still working on Part 3 of "Forged in Fire." It's coming along slowly but surely. The spring fire season has seen me being "Smokey" the wildland firefighter much more than "Smokey" the fan fiction author.
Anyway, I gotta say being out in the woods for these passed few months or so has offered me a little bit of an opportunity to think about and dream up stories about elves, Rangers, and such. I've got what I believe to be a decent idea of the direction I want the remainder of this story to take, but I'm still looking for a little bit more input from you guys.
On that note, I will say that comments made simply for the sake of bashing/trashing/trying-to-sound-like-a-literary-genius-who-is-so-good-they-monitor-fanfiction-sites, will be ignored, judged, laughed at, and otherwise looked over. I appreciate constructive criticism, really, but let's try to keep things as truly constructive as possible.
Rant over.
Moving on, I'm curious to know what any of you would think about one of the much more minor characters coming to the forefront of the story. I'm thinking somebody like "Mihal" for instance. ;) This, of course, doesn't mean they would become a main character in this installment, but perhaps in the second story which is (Spoiler Alert) in its very-much-so infant stages.
Also. I will say I'm at a bit of a roadblock with a few of the characters I've created already. "Marcus Titinius" being the main one that comes to mind. While I don't necessarily want to scrap him, I'd like to know what you guys think as far as where he should go. Considering he's already had an entire chapter devoted to him, regardless of how long ago that was, it would take a pretty decent chunk out of the story.
This is also why I'm considering moving one of the minor characters at the other end of the spectrum more to the forefront. I originally saw "Marcus" as a more humanoid adversary for "Aleron," but when you look at it, our Ranger hero has enemies everywhere, while all his buddies are sitting around wondering what he's up to.
So yeah, input(s) please. We need to move this story along so the saga can continue. Once again I apologize for being away for so long. Thank you to those who are sticking with the story as best you can.
