"I know. She can undo it all, from the start. He won't want to leave her."
"So, what are you going to do?"
"Persuade him that he wants to come with us more than he wants to stay with her."
"How will you do that?"
"I'll lie to him."
"And if that doesn't work?"
"Then I'll tell the truth. We're allowed to do that in emergencies. We can't plan for everything, you know."
"What about the girl?"
"I'll pick her up before getting the Third."
"Will you leave her in the car?"
"I'm interested in seeing how she fares against the eldest Wiggin."
"Are you sure that's a good idea? For most, I wouldn't argue it, but something about that girl doesn't sit well with me."
"She's six."
"That doesn't change the fact that she can fool the monitors better than her brother. Don't underestimate her."
"I'm not, but it's the only way to gain her trust in order to break it."
"So, you let it get to a dangerous level, then swoop in and play the hero? That doesn't sound like you."
"What else am I going to do? I have to gain her trust, and if the only way to do that is to save her, then so be it."
"And if she saves herself?"
"Then we find a way to end her."
`"That's the thing. I'm not so sure there is a way."
AN: Oh. Wow. Hi. Sooooooo... I'm not dead. Yeah. Sorry. I don't have any other excuse other than real life/school. But hey, it's summer! Also, I am updating again tomorrow, since this is just a quick chapter to let everyone know I AM STILL ALIVE! I had a whole chapter written - like, a REALLY big one, and then it was deleted.
Life sucks sometimes. *sigh*
Aaaaanyyyywwaaaayyyyyy... I'm going to be stuck at baseball field from 7:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m., so don't expect an update until 3:00 - 5:00. I'll try to post on my phone, but I am technoligically impaired, so I make no promises.
