Chapter 15

Phantom: Well, yeah it had to be Fright Knight. No one else in my book (ha pun) really fit.

History101: Ok here's what's next.

I have a sort-of excuse for why this one is also 6-7 months late. First is undergraduate research-yay and finals-blech. Second my sister is pregnant-yay Third I'm a procrastinator-…..not quite sure whether I'm happy about that or not. REALLY short chapter and the last.

I do not own Danny Phantom…..or vlad for that matter…sigh.

His eyes slowly opened as he realized his body was shivering. The boy realized that he had dozed off on Vlad's lawn and that it was now early evening. He stretched and left the patch of grass that now held his shape. He wasn't quite ready to talk to Vlad yet, so he wandered into the kitchen to see if he could make anything for himself. He was glad when he didn't run into the butler; he didn't feel like talking to anybody. When he started looking through the kitchen for food though; he found that he wasn't hungry either. He shut the fridge door and turned and started to walk slowly throughout the mansion. He was a little bit surprised to find that his feet were taking him to Vlad's room. He considered turning around but shrugged and continued on into the dark room.

Vlad woke up to see Daniel come back into his room; he stayed silent pretending that he was still asleep. His eyes barely open watching the boy.

Danny looked over at the man he assumed was asleep and sighed, his mind playing a game of tug o war. "I'm sorry Vlad. If it wasn't for me you wouldn't have that stab wound…there was bound to have been another way…if only I had been thinking…No if only you had never wanted that stupid necklace in the first place…or…or something."

Deciding to give up the pretense of sleep Vlad spoke "A dollar for your thoughts."

Danny met the other's eyes "Isn't it usually a penny for your thoughts?"

The older hybrid smiled "I'm a multi-billionaire Daniel; I think I can afford to give away a dollar."

Danny snorted but as he looked at Vlad he came to the quickest decision in his life "I want to go home."

Needless to say Vlad was taken aback by this but he managed to hide most of his surprise only letting a small amount flash through. "Well then, I suppose I could have your parents come grab you or Morris could fly you home. Do you have a preference?"

"I don't want you near my parents so lets go with Morris."

"Whatever is the matter Daniel, don't you trust me." The man had said it jokingly but now it was out in the open practically glaring both hybrids in the face. "Bloody pain pills they're making me stupid" Vlad thought, but there was nothing he could do except wait.

That question made Danny stare at Vlad in a bit of shock but after a couple moments of silence between the two of them he found an answer that fit "Sometimes."

After the boy had gone home Vlad lay in his bed thinking. Daniel had adamantly not wanted to go home before and then he had gone and changed his mind. What had changed? It wasn't in the teen's nature to change decisions that quickly, usually he was as stubborn as a mule. So something had to have happened…or he could have already decided on something but had been worried about leaving Vlad. "Damn you Daniel." The hybrid cursed as he realized something Daniel had asked before Morris had arrived. "What about all those other vampires? I mean you promised to help them revert back to their original forms so when are we planning to go back?"

Apparently his evasive answers had not fooled the teen and the younger ghost had been thinking of a way to help them and the only thing holding him back had been his concern for Vlad's wound. Vlad's wish for him to leave had only strengthened the boy's resolve to head back to help. Hissing and inwardly cursing Daniel, Vlad reached up and pushed the hidden button in his canopy, lying back afterwards.

A few minutes and in rode the Fright Knight he made a move to dismount but Vlad stopped him "Stay up there. Go keep both you and your horse's eyes on Danny Phantom. Do NOT be seen or sensed by anyone. If he or his annoying friends makes a move for the ghost zone, ride and find me with all haste. Fail me at any point and I will make your afterlife a living hell. Go!"

The knight nodded and turned his horse about "Hyahh!" and galloped towards Amity Park.

Vlad Plasmius took a deep breath and let it out slowly "That boy is going to be the death of me someday."

Epilogue

"Hey mom, hi dad!" Danny said as he walked in the front door.

"Well, hi sweetie, what are you doing home? Is vlad feeling any better? I'd assume so because you were over there for a while, did you have fun?"

"Yeah, lots." If you count being bitten, locked up or stabbing people as fun.

"Are you hungry?"

"No just a little tired. I'm going to go take a nap tell jazz that if she wakes me I'll hide all of her books." After he reached his room and shoved a chair under the doorknob he grabbed his cell from off his dresser and ignored the many missed calls and new messages. He dialed a number and then waited "Hey Sam….I'm fine. Hey, what do you know about vampires?"

THE END-sorta.

I figure that next time I write a story I'll write all of it first and then post it. It probably won't be DP stuff for a while. I have some Hook things that I need to get off my mind. If any of you would like to take over the second part of this PM me and I'll look at some writing you've done and decide…I'll probably "finish" it myself though.

Thanks for sticking with me on this long(I'm aware it didn't have to be that long but eh procrastination city)thing.
