He Sees Darkness, But Smiles Like The Light

By The Un-Wanted Angel

I know that must be thrilling and I want to thank you all for the wonderful reviews and messages I have been getting. Thank you all so much, so to my gratitude, at the very end of the chapter is a little snip-Omake-theater for you all to enjoy! It's pure fluff and has no relevation to the story line, but it's just a little slice of cake for reviewing so much!

Also, I would like to post A WARNING: There is rude language, talk and actions of violence and blood. So, if you can't handle any of that, then I would suggest you read as much and if you can't handle then that's okay. There is still a present waiting for you at the end for trying :)

ENJOY! :D

CHAPTER 22

"Alright, everyone in formation!" An ANBU instructed.

Naruto crouched down, ignoring any advice or instructions Kyuubi gave the boy.

"Naruto, listen to me, you need to calm down and focus. Do you remember the stages?" Naruto nodded, the first test would be a written test, of course since he was blind and would need sight later, he would have to pray that his handwriting was read-able. That or find someone to give him the test in brial. Minato wanted Naruto to have an easier test, maybe an oral test but Naruto didn't want that and pratically chewed out his father for thinking he couldn't do it. Of course this wasn't what Minato was implying, he just wanted to help out his son.

Second, would be mission survival.

While the third would be a show-down.

Minato was already on his fourth coffee when the third test arrived. He was pleased to know his son was safe and sound, he was sure Sasuke was keeping an eye on him during the tournament. Knowing that Naruto, still impaired by the Five Elements Seal, was matched up with Kiba of Konohagakure's Team 8 in the seventh match.

His teeth rattled seeing Naruto being tossed to the floor once again.

"C'ome on, this is all ya' got?" Kiba taunted. "Too easy."

Naruto smirked, his anger had gone down and with Kyuubi's coaching he could figure out the next step to their plan. With Akamaru and Kiba doing their Beast Human Clone technique, Naruto had a plan, a layered fashion into Akamaru and then Kiba, so that, when Kiba attacked Naruto, the second Transformation (as Kiba) gave way to the first (as Akamaru), leading Kiba to attack Akamaru.

Minato smirked.

"Pretty sneeky" He bit on his grass stick. He knew he didn't have to worry too much anymore. Kakashi smiled, he held faith in Naruto, he knew the kid was good.

"Damn you, Blondie!" Kiba screamed.

Kiba then focused on attacking intensively to keep Naruto from counter-attacking, until Naruto accidentally broke wind, which stunned Kiba, whose sense of smell was magnified a thousand times at the time. Naruto then, with a wind of grace, defeated Kiba by using shadow clones to perform a new technique, the Naruto Uzumaki Combo.

Sasuke smiled. He could tell by the look on Naruto's face that Naruto had simmered down a little.

"We did it, Kyuubi." Naruto whispered.

"Good, now was that so hard? All you have to do is calm your anger, I know what she did was pretty fuckin' cruel. But Kit, take your anger and use it as power."

Kiba groaned, and Akamaru wimpered.

Apparently the loss was taking it's toll on the two of them.

Sasuke and Naruto had been accepted to the next round. Anyone who was were to wait in another room, those who didn't were asked to leave the building or watch from the sidelines. Sakura, after her and Ino's fight, since neither of them won, figured she should at least watch her team mates in the next round, but Naruto's glares from before and after the second stages were enough to make her stomach upset.

"What if he doesn't want me there?" She asked herself.

Still. . . Maybe he'd be in a better mood to hear her true apology.

Naruto had no idea where Sasuke went to, but he found someone very familiar.

"Ero-Jiraiya?" He smiled, racing to his god-father. The pervert obviously took offence to this, but Minato was the one who crouched down to his son, taking his thumb and wetting it to smudge away any dirt on Naruto's face, to Naruto's embarrassment.

"You're not hurt are you?" He asked.

"No, Tou-san. But my sight is gone." That last part sounded disappointing and Minato nodded.

"Did Kyuubi use all of his Chakra?" Jiraiya asked.

"No. Just a large amount, I'll wait until I desperately need more to ask him to lend me some again." Naruto spoke as Minato shook the pill bottle into his hand.

"Say, 'ah' Naru-chan." Minato instructed.

Naruto could feel his face reden hearing what sounded like female giggles from behind him and he swatted away his tou-san's hands, taking the pills.

"I'll do it myself, tou-san." Naruto pouted, popping the pills into his mouth. Minato frowned, sadly. He wouldn't admit it, but it sounded like each day Naruto was growing less and less dependent on him and it both saddened and frightened him. After a while, Minato was told to announce the next exam, which had everyone riled up. Cause it was Sasuke battling Garra of the Sand, although he was slightly nervous because Sasuke wasn't back with Kakashi yet.

He smiled sweetly at Naruto, brushing away a few blonde locks away from his eyes.

"Do your best, Naruto." Minato smiled, walking away, leaving the younger blonde feeling guilty.

After Minato had announced the fight would go on, but if the ten-minute bell rang, then the fight would be discualified. This gave a small amount of hope to those waiting for a good fight. Naruto meanwhile had gotten a good look at Sasuke's apponinent, Garra. Naruto would be lying if he didn't admit that Garra was creepy looking.

He felt bad judging the red-head, he shook his head.

"Kick his ass, Sasuke!" He called. Sasuke heard and bit his lip, Naruto knew how dangerous Garra was with his sand block but to his astonishment, Sasuke had began fighting, and looked to be winning. Sasuke begins attacking Gaara fast enough to bypass his Shield of Sand, oddly reminiscent of Rock Lee's fighting style. Garra looked amazed at how Sasuke was blocking out his sand with what looked to be lightning speed.

"Alright!" Sakura cheered.

"Good going, Sasuke!" Naruto called.

Minato kept his eyes on alert, something was off.

"Something wrong, Sensei?" Kakashi asked.

Minato didn't answer. He felt eyes gazing on him, he felt watched.

From a distance, the red-cloud cloaked team smirked.

"Oh, this will be fun." A blonde replied.

OMAKE THEATER!

"Summoning justu!" Naruto cried. Gamatatsu appeared threw a cloud of smoke.

"Alright! Ready, Gamatastu?" Naruto cheered.

Who says you had to be a young child to play leap frog?
