Christmas night was like any night to Harleigh; she would stay in her bed until everyone was asleep then make her way out of Gryffindor Tower to sit in the moon light. But this time someone else was sneaking out at the same time.
"Harry?" Harleigh said startling her fellow Gryffindor, "Where are you going?"
"Just for a walk," Harry said with a yawn, "I can't sleep."
"Do you mind if I come with you? I can never seem to sleep at night specially if it is a full moon," Harleigh said.
That night happened to be a full moon.
"Okay," Harry said as he pulled the invisibility cloak over Harleigh and himself.
The two young Gryffindors walked out of the tower quietly.
"I want to show you something Harry, I found it last night," Harleigh said as she pulled Harry into a room that was basically empty, with a mirror standing as tall as the ceiling.
"Whoa, what s this?" Harry asked looking at the tall mirror that read 'Erised stra ehru oyt ube cafru oyt on wohsi' along the top.
"It's the mirror of Erised, see along the top there it says 'I show not your face but your heart's desire' backwards see," Harleigh said pointing at the gold lettering with a smile on her face.
"It's amazing," Harry said.
"You say that now and you haven't even stepped in front of it yet," Harleigh said with hands behind her back and twisting from side to side as she stood in front of the mirror smiling at its content.
Harry slowing stepped beside Harleigh and he looked into the mirror.
"What do you see Harry?" Harleigh asked. Harleigh saw a scruffy man and a fancy woman with brown hair and brown eyes.
"Mom, Dad?" Harry said in shock, his parents the ones he doesn't know and doesn't remember stand before him with a hand on his shoulder.
"So you see your parents too," Harleigh said taking a seat on the floor beside Harry. She patted the floor beside her for him to sit.
"Yeah," Harry said sitting beside one of his best friends.
"How do you know they're your parents Harry?" Harleigh asked out of curiosity knowing Harry's parents died when he was one so he shouldn't remember them.
"I have this dream about them almost every night, of them getting killed," Harry said in a small voice.
"Are you sure it wasn't a memory?" Harleigh asked leaning against Harry while still staring into the mirror at her parents.
"I don't know," Harry said. There was silence for about a minute before Harry broke it, "How did you know they were yours?"
"The woman is wearing the same necklace," Harleigh answered reaching into the neck of her pajama shirt and pulled out the chain that held the diamond sapphire moon and the wolf charms Hermione gave her that day.
Harry nodded. The two sat in silence staring at their heart's desires for almost an hour before Dumbledore found them.
"So back again Harleigh, but this time you brought a friend, hello Harry," Dumbledore said.
If looks could kill Dumbledore would be dead ten times over with the daggers Harleigh was shooting at him.
"The mirror it shows your deepest desires in it," Dumbledore said calmly and slowly walking towards the two.
"Yeah Professor we know," Harleigh hissed.
"Then you must know that you can't stay here, many men have lost their minds trying to achieve what they see in the mirror and some wasted away just sitting in front of it," Dumbledore said.
"But isn't that what makes us human; trying to achieve our deepest desires Professor; because without desires we are nothing but soulless beings," Harleigh snapped.
"Yes Miss LeStrange that is correct, but the mirror will have a new home tomorrow, I must ask you not to go looking for it again," Dumbledore said, "Now, please return to your dormitories'."
When they turned the corner they heard two voices, as the two young Gryffindors got closer Harleigh suggested putting on the invisibility cloak.
"… D-don't know why you wanted t-t-to meet here of all p-places, Severus…" The two young Gryffindors saw Professors Quirrell and Snape.
"Oh, I thought we'd keep this private," Snape hissed, "Students aren't supposed to know about the Philosopher's Stone after all."
Quirrell started to mumble something but Snape cut him off, "Have you found out how to get past that beast of Hagrid's yet?"
"B-b-but Severus, I—," Quirrell stuttered.
"You don't want me as your enemy Quirrell," Snapped Snape.
"I-I don-t know what—," Quirrell was cut off once more.
"You know perfectly well what I mean." Snape said.
The Gryffindor missed what he said next.
"— Your little bit of hocus pocus. I'm waiting." Snape growled.
"B-but I d-d-don't —" Quirrell stuttered.
"Very well," Snape cut in, "We'll have another chat soon, when you have time to think about where your loyalties lie."
Harry and Harleigh ducked away as the Hogwarts potions master rushed by.
The two young Gryffindor returned to the tower to see Hermione in the common room.
"Where were you two?!" Hermione hissed.
"I am sorry 'Mione," Harry said.
"Don't 'Mione me! Where were you two?" Hermione yelled.
"Hermione please quiet down and I will tell you where we went and why we went there, okay?" Harleigh said.
Hermione calmed down and said, "Okay, explain."
"I usually go for a walk at night because I have a hard time sleeping. Tonight I ran into Harry leaving the dorms and I showed him something I found yesterday that I thought was cool. We ran in to Dumbledore and we got sent back here that is all," Harleigh explained.
"Why were you leaving Harry?" Hermione asked.
"I had a nightmare," Harry said in a small voice.
"The one…," Harleigh trailed off.
"Yeah, that one," Harry said.
"Which one?" Hermione asked.
"I… um… I have a nightmare or what Harleigh thinks is a memory of the night my parents were killed," Harry said with his head down, not expecting Hermione to wrap her arms around him.
"Oh Harry, I am so sorry I reacted that way when you guys came in," Hermione apologized still hugging Harry.
"It's okay you didn't know," Harry said wrapping his arms around his bushy haired best friend.
"Oh, well now I feel left out," Harleigh said sticking out her bottom lip.
"Hermione giggled as she pulled one arm away from Harry to pull Harleigh into the hug.
"Thank you guys, I don't know what I would do without you," Harry said.
"No problem you two are my only friends," Harleigh said as the three of them pulled out of the group hug.
"But what about Draco?" Hermione asked.
"I don't know about him anymore, he used to be my best friend and then we came here and I don't know, I guess he is just like his father," Harleigh sniffed, "I'm going back to bed, goodnight guys."

"Come on Hermione…," Harry Whined.
"Please come with us, you need a break…" Harleigh continued.
"Exams are ten weeks away," Harry finished.
"Will you please stop that!?" Hermione snapped putting her History of Magic text book down.
The three young Gryffindors were studying in the common room when Harry and Harleigh decided to have a break and go down to Hagrid's hut.
"Please Hermione," Harry and Harleigh bagged at the same time.
"But the exams are coming," Hermione plead.
"Hermione, my dear friend, if you keep studying like this you'll tire yourself out," Harleigh said calmly, "You need a break come down to Hagrid's with us."
"But it is almost curfew," Hermione whined.
"Excuses, Excuses, Excuses besides we'll be back in plenty of time," Harleigh said pulling Hermione off her spot on her favorite chair by the fire.
